We are getting up bright and early (6:00 am) Christmas morning at the WDW Dolphin in hopes of driving back to Indiana (17 hours) in hopes to be home in our own beds that night (before family shows up on the 26th).

NOW, here is where I need reassurance. We will be on major interstates all the way. Will the large truck stops at least be open for gas on Christmas Day? We are starting out with a full tank, but will need at least 2 gas stops along the way.

Is we know we can get gas, then I know we can make it home. The traffic should be light, so we are hoping to make good time.
Thanks!

I am sure you won't have any problem finding gas stations open on major roads on Christmas. I wouldn't count on finding food places open though. Pack a lunch for your trip.

We will bring food along with us (have a fridge for in the van that runs from the lighter). So as long as we can get gas, we will be fine! Thanks!

You may want to stop for refueling when you see one of the larger chains .vs. looking to stop when the fuel gauge gets low. I know this is a bit opposite of what is normal, but in some of the states you will be going through, local manager teams may make decisions to be closed for time periods on Christmas day.
If you have time now, do a call around to a couple of the ones you would normally stop at to see what their schedule is. You're right--you should only need to stop twice.
Have a safe drive home.
