Plaza Inn Character Breakfast

If anyone else is wondering...I just called reservations and she stated last reservation time is 10:50 and all characters will be gone by 11:30. To get the most interaction you would want to book by 10:00 am.
So...still trying to decide 10am Minnie and Friends or 12:00 Goofy's???
I like the idea of staying in the park, but hate to lose morning hours. Any opinions??? :confused3

We're getting the first reservation of the day..7:10. It won't use up our magic morning but we will get in before the park opens. To us, we'd rather use up time that isn't 'ours' in the park eating bfast even if it's super early. Then we can just go on with our day :)

:thumbsup2 I agree with this. We do it this way to when we can...99% of the time!

How does it work if you have an early ressie and rope drop hasn't happened? Do they make you go back behind the rope? Sorry if this is a silly question--but wondered if it really gets you in the park early (to avoid those lines of course!?)?

They will walk you in :) You're allowed to go free after ;)

ETA This needs to be during a magic morning day to work

I had a 7:10 reservation and I loved it! To the poster who asked about Goofy's or Minnie's, go with Minnie's. We saw 10 characters: Tigger, Eeyore, Max, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Suzy/Pearla (can't remember who is who!), Daisy, Rafiki, Captain Hook. They came around and were totally in character. Some came around more than once. At Goofy's, we saw Goofy at the door. Then Snow White and Chip. That's all who came to our table. We saw Rafiki from afar and one other character I think. It was kind of sad to spend that much money and not have any fun with the characters.

And we did not have to go back behind the rope. They were letting people into the park when we were done, which was right around 7:55 anyways.

I really liked the food and I loved the characters. When I get to go back (it's far from here!!!) I will definitely go back there for breakfast!!:woohoo:

I am not exactly sure if they rotate. Last time we had breakfast there (September) we saw Minnie, Captain Hook, Rafiki, Eeyore, Daisy Duck, Geppetto, Rabbit, Fairy Godmother, Chip and Dale, and Max. I heard that Daisy Duck was actually kind of rare to see. :goodvibes

We saw this exact same lineup in November except for Daisy Duck. We saw the female mouse from Cinderella, the one in the purple dress. - Drawing a blank on the name -.

However the Plaza is a wonderful place to have breakfast. The food is good and lots of characters with fun interaction. I was sooooooo excited to see Rafiki.

If you have 7:10 reservations, how early do you need to arrive? Will you be waiting in line with the MM guests or is there a separate entrance. Just thinking, if we plan on being at the park at 7:30 for a 8am opening it might not be that much earlier. Thanks so much for this tip...I'm leaning that way now.

My sister may kill me...she's going with me and my dd7,dd7 and ds4 but not sure she will want to get up that early. Her dd's are 17 and 19 so she's used to sleeping in on vacation. My DD just said it would be payback for leaving our fridge open all day and spoiling all our food over a year ago...kids remember the craziest things!!

Tomorrow is my 60 day mark so got to make a decision soon.

We were late and got there at about 7:15. We left our hotel room (Hojo) at about 6:55 and walked slowly. There is a special line to use for breakfasts. You go to that line and tell them you have a reservation. That's all we did, and then we walked up Main Street. (Oh boy, I want to go back!)

OK...so just booked Minnie's. Earliest time available was 7:30. What do you think...will we miss too much of the early morning time? Or maybe we could head straight to Toontown. It will be a Sunday so no MTMM. What do ya think??
Thanks so much for all the advice...planning is making my head spin. I'm sure I make too much of it. We'll have a great time either way.:)

I don't think 20 min will make a big diff either way. My reservation is 7:10 but I don't plan on making it to the park earlier than 8..it'll take a while with characters and eating. (HAH eating..if you get the time ;) ) So I think 7:30 is perfect. :)

As far as Cinderella's mice go:

Suzy wears seafoam blue
Perla wears purple

Thanks! So it was Perla that I saw.... Duly noted!

I have to edit this.... I saw BOTH Suzy and Perla! I went looking through my pictures and they were BOTH there, so I saw 11 characters at breakfast that morning.

I just made reservations for this Tuesday and the rep said the breakfast was until 11:30 so a 10:30 time was fine. 30 minutes just wouldn't be enough. An hour to me seems plenty. Do they kick you out right at the end even if the characters leave? Wonder if I can finish my coffee I probably won't have a chance to drink.

Do you make it through your meal in less then an hour, so that you can be at the front of the heard rushing down main street?

I just called for a June reservation and the first seating is 8:10am. 10 minutes after park opening.

I though I read in other threads that Plaza Inn open 50 minutes before rope drop?

That sucks! I don’t want to waste valuable park time eating breakfast.

Here's what I wrote when you posted this to another thread:

Only on early entry days. From what I can tell, when the park opens at 8 AM, the first seating is 8:10 on a non-early entry day and 7:10 on an early entry day.

I have heard that when the park opens later in the morning, 9 or 10 AM, the first breakfast seating can be before official opening even on a non-early entry day since people are allowed in at least one half early anyway for rope drop.

Heck no. That totally freaks me out. I'll point and laugh from my table by a window while eating my delicious sausage.
:rotfl:

What is the food selection like there? My daughter can't have anything with grains or potatoes. So I would need to know what protein options they have and if they had a big selection of fresh fruit.

From what I remember they had a pretty good fruit selection but it's been a while. They have sausage, bacon, ham and an omelet station.
