Play N Dine at Hollywood & Vine with the Playhouse Disney Pals

Well, add my DD as a child who would LOVE this. She's not really into Little Einsteins (and for some reason DH can't stand the show if it's ever on), but she's CRAZY about Jojo and Goliath, and for some reason, Croaky. In fact, I can almost say that she is obsessed with them. The other morning, I woke up at 4:30am to hear her having a conversation with her stuffies in her crib about Jojo and Goliath, but I digress. Now I need to figure out where to fit this one in during our trip in September!

Well I am glad they are doing something and dd LOVES Little Einsteins but here fav is Annie - that is weird they are only have 2 of them. She also isn't a fan of Jo Jo anymore so I think we will pass.

I too agree that a Toy Story meal needs to be done soon. Even a heros theme with Woody, Buzz, Power Rangers, Incredibles etc... I don't have a boy but my dd would love it and so would I :rotfl2:

Goliath can't even do autographs :sad2:

I'm disappointed. There are lots of character meals for the little ones (Pooh, Mickey, etc). WDW really needed a "boy" character meal, like a hero theme or something. And why only those characters? Oh well. I know we won't be going to that meal, but I'm happy for those of you who are pleased with the choice. :sunny:

BINGO! Who made this decision? Sorry parents of pre-schoolers, there are tons of things out there for that age group. The boys and the older kids are being ignored.

If the Pixar thing wasn't going to work (still thinking someone didn't try hard enough there...if Buzz & Woody etal can be in the parks signing autographs, then there's not much different having them at a character meal), then why not pick something a little more appealing to the boys and older kids.

I could go on, ad nauseum, with the ideas that have come through via the DIS. Bottom line is there are plenty of characters and/or themes to fit both MGM, H&V AND be a huge hit with boys and older kids.

Why Disney is blatantly ignoring something for this age group is seriously beyond me.

I will NOT be booking anything Little Einstein or Jo Jo's Circus.

Maybe if H&V does not fill their seats like Cindy's, 1900 Park Faire, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, .... they will change their characters - No offense to the little kids who love Playhouse Disney.

BUT.... there are not many rides at MGM Studio's made for kids under 3.5 feet. How many 4 year olds go on Aerosmith or Tower of Terror ? Indiana Jones and Lights, Camera, Action may even frighten a kindergartener ?

So a young family eats at H&V for Playhouse characters and then goes where ? Boat to EPCOT ?

What was WDW thinking :lmao:

Why did WDW not bring back the Villian character meal ?

Can't they have just ONE meal for boys 9 and up?

What about teens? Would it hurt to have something geared toward them? :guilty:

My DD (who is less than 2 and just started watching a couple of TV shows) is CRAZY about Jojo, so we're probably going to need to find a way to fit this one in for our trip even though she could care less about Little Einsteins.

Even though I think this is something that our family would be interested in, I agree that this doesn't seem like the best choice for a character meal. When I first heard about the Toy Story character meal idea that seemed like a much more further reaching theme than the Playhouse Disney idea.

no hit with us. toy story is another ball game! We would do it in a heart beat.

Hey - I am curious - I totally understand the need for Toy Story, Pixar - something geared towards boys but what kind of character meal would a teenager like and actually want to go to :confused3

Both of these sets of characters are totally fantastic!! I have a 3 year old that will be in her glory with her favorite characters!! Last year she was far more excited the first time that she saw JoJo and Goliath than when she saw Mickey... (almost feels blasphemous  )

Anywho... I think it is a great new option, and yes Toy story would still be nice, but for the really young ones like my daughter this is a dream come true and we will certainly be eating breakfast there this summer...

DD is jumping with joy over eating with JoJo! AND we love H&V but have never ate there for lunch... is the menu much different than dinner?

They currently do not serve lunch.

Guess I won't have to eat here, considering I think this restaurant has some of the worst food at Disney. Something like a Toy Story Theme might have drawn me back for breakfast.

Putting this restaurant on my never to do list again.

DS 14 would love a Toy Story or Incredibles meal.

How did the Little Einsteins make the cut, how long have they been around, like a week? No offense to them, I think they are cute, but I think some tried and true characters may have been a better idea. Are there more royalties to pay to someone for the toy story characters or something? Just trying to figure out their reasoning?

Is Bear (from Bear in the Big Blue House) no longer on Playhouse Disney in the U.S.? I think I read somewhere that he isn't but I'm not sure. He's still on the U.K. version of Playhouse which is what we get here. I was hoping he'd be one of the characters at the new meal (well really hoping it was Woody and Buzz but failing that...). My daughter adores Bear.

Thanks for the info on this. We'll give it a skip as DD isn't familiar with those characters and my boys would probably want the ground to open up and swallow them whole if they had to endure it. :teeth:

I see what you're saying and it's hard to please young teens but I think there's a certain type of wit in Toy Story that all ages truly appreciate and even teens (not all but some) would get a kick out of hanging out with those characters. I don't have teens - my kid are 2, 12 and almost 10 but even my 12 year old would have enjoyed the Toy Story one I think. But even though I don't know much about it, I think the Stitch breakfast might be fun for him, I'm not sure though, I hope it isn't *too* childish.

As a mother of 2 DSs, 6 & 9, I have to say I am very disappointed this rumored Breakfast and Beyond has come to this. Other than the picture I saw posted here the other day, I dont even know who the Einsteins are. :confused3 And yes I know Jo Jo, but even when my younger DS watched PHD, that wasnt one of his favorites.

I agree with cwnhokie, it would make more sense to go with a tried and true character. I know even when both my DSs were the preschool age, they loved Buzz & Woody...moreso than anyone on PHD. So while I see Disney is pushing the preschool thing, I think Buzz & Woody would work for that age group too, along with older kids.

Well, Im glad I made my back up ADR at Chef Mickeys while I waited to hear on this one. I guess that will remain our favorite. :goodvibes
