Play N Dine at Hollywood & Vine with the Playhouse Disney Pals

Oh I will have to agree that playhouse disney is not the way to go. My daughter is 4 and she is done and over with Jo Jo - probably at 3yrs old. While she loves the Little Einsteins, they are new and I am not sure she will like them as much in 3 months when we go.

Also the other thing I see here is how many families with kids over 5/6 are going to want to go even if they had a toddler/preschooler as well? This is geared towards an age group of 2-4yrs old and no one else. Seems strange to me. I will be curious how quickly this sells out...

Before complaining here though, make sure you are writing/emailing to Disney. If enough complain they may start to consider Toy Story. I have heard that Buzz is too big to get thru the tables but I think they could have Buzz in a waiting area sorta like Donald at CM and then have Woody, Jessie and Bullseye walking around

I agree that this won't appeal to families that have older children along with their toddler/preschooler. I have a 7 1/2 year old and 2 1/2 year old. I know my older one would hate sitting through a Baby Einstein breakfast even if my younger one knew who they were. :sad2: This meal could result in splitting up a lot of families with older kids who won't want to suffer through this meal.

I also agree that if Buzz's size is the problem, make him the official greeter out front. I would love to see Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head as walking characters too. As indicated by all the threads we've seen dedicated to the Toy Story meal, Disney will be missing a lot of our money by not letting us eat with Andy's toys!

I am very happy about this new character meal....my daughter is going to love this. I have already booked a table for her birthday trip in September. This will fit in nicely with the upcoming Disney Beginnings promotion for families with toddlers. :wizard:

I am glad that MGM has a character meal. Like some of the others, it doesn't fit for my family. I have 2 DS's ages 9 & 7 and they don't even know who the Einstein's are nor JoJo. Out of their age group. However, I think it's good that there is a meal for the little ones to enjoy. :)

so from what I have read the characters will only be there for breakfast and lunch? I was already booked for the fatasmic dinner and was hoping we could squeak in another character meal but I guess not.

I called last night to try and make an ADR and the CM had no idea what I was talking about. I will have to try again and hopefully I will get the date and time I want.

I am quite disappointed at the choice. I have never even heard of the characters. Not living in the States and Playhouse Disney only being available on certain TV subscription packages many people on other forums have never heard of the characters either.
I am very happy for the little ones but this will cut out a lot of people, which lots of other character meals dont do.

I am also disappointed in this one...I was really hoping for something geared more toward boys (to offset the princess meals)...my 4 year old is too old for this and would have enjoyed Toy Story so much more. Well, you can't win them all. :goodvibes

And what's with no Bear in the Big Blue House or Roly Poly Olie? :rotfl:

As the mother of three toddlers I am THRILLED about the meal. We were originally planning to do counter service at MGM, but now we are definitely doing the character lunch.

DD LOVES JoJo and DSs are big fans of the Little Einsteins.

Toy Story would have been a big hit with them too. My hope is that for our next trip there will be some new choices like a Toy Story or Monsters Inc. Meal. For this trip I am really happy about JoJo and the Little Einsteins.

I just booked our breakfast for Sept!

While I would have preferred a Toy Story one (my DS would have gone nuts over that!), I know DS will like this one to. He will only be 3 on our Sept trip, so this meal will work great for us. However, there aren't many times my DS will want to do a Playhouse Disney meal.

I wish they would have done Toy Story. They need something a bit more boy!

I am one to say that my 2 year old DD will love this meal. She is so into JoJo and GoLion as she calls him. My 6 year old DD will also like the Little Einsteins. So for us it is a win win situation. Although the Pixar meal would have been great as well as the 6 yr old loves Woody & Buzz.

Maybe some of the posters are right and this is a temporary fix to the problems rumored with the Pixar meal. I think it is great as when we went last year, the girls 1 and 5, the only thing that drew us in was Playhouse Disney.

When I booked our breakfast ADR I asked about the menu and here is what I was told. American Fare, fruit, breakfast meats, Mickey Waffles. I am thinking it is similar to Crystal Palace. HTH! Didn't think to ask about lunch though

For those with small children- this is great! However, my children will both be 5 and 7 (May birthdays) next month, and neither would like this meal. I'm very disappointed- I was so hoping for toy story characters, or pixar characters for that matter. I wonder how long this meal will last. It is geared toward preschoolers which is great- but many, many of the preschoolers are afraid of characters. Also, preschoolers would enjoy Mickey and Donald and others that would also be fun for the older kids as well. I'm just not sure on the choice of charcters with this meal. If not toy story or pixar, why not one that will appeal to older and younger kids? Oh well.... for those of you with younger kids- enjoy and have fun! My kids would have loved this meal two years ago. I agree with a previous poster- why not Bear? DD always loved him when she was younger and he just doesn't do meet and greets very often- why not have him as a 'greeter' that you can get pictures with as you walk in?

I'm thinking the same thing! I think a Toy Story meal would have had a much wider audience. My little one will love this, but big brother will definitely think it is too lame.

Thanks for the info TiggerinLBV :)

Ditto!

Even though we do have one young child, as a family we are very disappointed in this. My middle son thinks he is Buzz, so Toy Story would have been great. Why doesn't Disney do a Hero's meal for boys, they don;t really have anything once they are a little older.

This is yet another example of the feminization of the United States and a slap in the face to all red blooded American males everywhere. What's next? Will they try to take the fighting out of hockey or turn cooking into a reality game show? (oh wait, both of these things have already happened)

WOW !!
I can't believe after all this excitement over Pixar/Toy Story Character Meal, it isn't going to happen....
I am a 41 year old Disney Mom and I am really bummed !!!
My 2 DD's ages 5 and 8 and 2 Nephews ages 9 and 12 really really wanted to do the Toy Story one....
Sorry to say, we have no interest in Jo Jo or Little Einsteins.......
I am so disappointed.....
I didn't see this new Character meal on the WDW web site.
Is the menu posted somewhere, just curious....
:sad1:

Well, my 4 year old will love this ! Although he did ask why the other Einstein characters weren't going th be there. I do agrere that a Toy Story/Pixar character meal would appeal to a broader crowd. However, I'll take what I can get. Would also be nice if Disney incorporated other Playhouse Disney characters , here and also around the parks. Bear, Rolie Polie Olie, Stanley, Charlie and Lola.
