Ok then....how about the bus drops you at front, and they have a pre-screened entrance? You ok with that?
Sure! Though in reality having a pre-screened entrance may be difficult to do. I am all for the idea of direct buses from resorts. It seems to me if this tower is DVC, they WILL have their own buses. Now way they still have the 7 stops around CBR included with it. (Though I guess they'd be down to 6 stops.)
Well, it's getting a bit off-topic, but it's too bad they don't have some sort of "pre-screen" system at all. We recently got our NEXUS card, which a type of trusted traveler card. We now can travel across the US-Canadian border without having to go through security, and also get TSA pre-check, where we don't have to go through the long lines at the airport. (Though still have our bags screened.) It's too bad Disney can't do something similar for guests!
Every once in a while even a blind squirrel finds a nut. That's it!
If they could make 300 million by not connecting, 600 million with a canal/walking bridge/underwater monorail, then they could easily make 1.6 billion with this idea. It's definitely happening.
You, sir, are an evil genius.
I do think it's funny that so many people dislike the bus service, even though it generally isn't any slower than using the boats or even at times the Monorail. (Take the Monorail from VGF to Epcot and tell me that that is faster than a bus from AKL to Epcot. The answer - it's not...) If you poll most guests, particularly deluxe guests, they would tell you Monorail > Boat >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bus.
Yup, I never understand this, and see people post about it all the time. I LOVE the buses at WDW, yes, I said it, I LOVE them. We own at AKV now after staying there for a total of a few weeks, and I think I can remember once, only once, when it took a long time to get to any park. Our usual experience is that it takes around 20 mins to get to any park. We found the same thing at Moderates when we have stayed there in the past. Now, we don't go during busy season, so maybe that's different. But its hilarious how often I see people complaining about the Monorail, or boats, how long they take or when they break down. Indeed how often the monorail has been down for repairs / service over the last couple years. And yet, there are people paying out the nose to stay at the Monorail resorts because they hate the buses. Or people who stay at POR / POFQ for the "quick" boat to Down Town Disney, when the bus takes about half the time. Or people who drive, end up having to find a parking spot and hike (or Monorail/tram it) to the park, to save a few minutes (potentially) of time here and there. No thanks. Buses for me and mine. Love it.
I agree about the buses being ok. However as a PP mentioned many view the alternate forms of transportation as rides in and of themself. To my they are an important part of the overall experience of a WDW visit.Yup, I never understand this, and see people post about it all the time. The buses are great 90% of the time. The other 10% is disproportionately represented when people complain. One 40 minute wait and it's like "buses are awful!"
I think the 3 hour delay comment is a bit over the top. I've stayed at monorail resorts several times and make use of them when I stay elsewhere. I'm sure others will have exception but I have never been stuck for over 20 minutes if that. I spend a lot more time in unexpected traffic jams on my commute to work. I would choose sitting on a monorail to commuting traffic any day anytime.agree'd but I always wonder why this never transfers to Monorails or boats ... somehow people get stuck on the monorail for 3 hours and still refuse to stay at a resort thats only served by buses![]()
There was one instance in the last couple years that a monorail had to be evacuated while it was not near a station. RCID came in with their special vehicle for the evacuation. I think that had people were stuck for at least a couple hours.I think the 3 hour delay comment is a bit over the top. So that's one. I think the complaints on monorail breakdowns and delays are greatly exaggerated. I get it that they happen probably more frequently than most would like but your on freaking vacation at WDW!There was one instance in the last couple years that a monorail had to be evacuated while it was not near a station. Rteetz posted this in the DHS thread, but it appears relevant to this one.

This sort of explains the mystery building across from South Trinidad. Whatever this is, adds to the allure of this topic I think.
Yeah, I saw this...it DOES seem strange...some sort of shuttle route perhaps? The distance is close to 1/2 a mile, so unlikely to be some sort of walking path.
What's weird is it is nowhere near the new build for CB Tower, so if it was some sort of canal, it would be really ineffective. It would take about 45 minutes by boat to get to Epcot from there!

I don't think boat - but perhaps some sort of dedicated bus route or tram or people mover type thing
