Planning on visiting disney with my two kids and husband and looking for a time the best times of the year when we can go and it is not that crowded and the weather is not cold. Any info would be appreciated. I have not been there since I was a kid and we are looking to have a good time and ride some cool thrill rides. I will take all advice - thanks.

well, you want to avoid summer months: June - August. For the best bet on weather, I would also avoid November-February.

Late September, October, March, April, early May - avoiding holidays - are your best bets. the closer to summer months, the more likely you'll have warm weather.

We went this last October and we thought the weather was perfect (warm in the 80's but not humid). The crowds weren't too bad either. I definitely would go back in October again!

This year we are going to try the beginning of December b/c we hear that the crowds are low and the holiday atmosphere is fantastic. The weather could be cool or warm I hear, but we can't wait to go!

After Thanksgiving until a week or so before Christmas is a great time to go.
Avoid spring break as it can get really busy.

I was thinking Oct or Nov or March or April - what are your thoughts on weather and crowds at that time. Anyone ever stay at the WDW resorts? I want somewhere that I can shuttle because would rather not rent a car. Or what about the shades of green?

We like to go in May, but we are going this October (suggested as a good month to go too) to compare the weather, the crowds, etc. We'll see how it goes.

Shades of Green is great! If you've never stayed there I think you and your family will really like it and you can't beat the price and the rooms are the largest.

October and April are your best bets. October will probably be drier.

Since school doesn't appear to be a problem, I assume you have younger children. You'll likely want to spend more time at MK. so the closest hotels are Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Shades. Shaeds is a little off the beaten path, but it is nice and affordable. We have also stayed at Poly and like it very much. You can't get more convenient than jumping right on a monrail from your hotel directly to the park. It is more expensive, but since you'll be going off-season, you should be able to get a good deal.
