We are traveling to WDW in September 16th – 26th staying at AS Sports

DH – Been to WDW before
DD – First time will have her 13th in WDW
Me – First Time

We are after some ideas on what to do; we will have a car the first 5 days. We were thinking about going to Seaworld or Universal.
Was thinking about a character breakfast for my daughter’s birthday but thought she might be too old for it.
How much money do you think we will need each day including food?

Thanks in advance

We were at WDW March 2-9. We did a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Our DS(12) was not into it. I think he was embarassed because I was having too much fun. I was waving my napkin in the air and dancing around like a fool. I didn't see too many kids his age there, eithier.

You might want to consider ordering a cake for your daughter from one of the resort bakeries. There is a thread on these boards with pictures of the cakes under the Disney Restaurants page. They look GOOD!

Also, go to City Hall at the Magic Kingdom and get her a birthday button. You'll be surprised by all the extra attention she gets!!

As far as meals, we did mostly CS meals at our resort. We did not do the DDP. We spent about 20-25 dollars per meal for CS for 3 people. We also invested in the souvenier mugs for sodas or iced-tea. Big money saver. They are 12 dollars each. I know it sounds like a lot of money, but after 4 refills, the mugs paid for themselves!!

When we go to WDW, we consider it a betrayal to go to Universal or Sea World--at least I do, anyway!! (just kidding!!) However, some relatives of mine went to both of those parks recently, and they had a ball!!!

Have fun on your vacation!

Wow!! DL and WDW!! Sounds like a lot of fun to me.

I hope my advice helps you at WDW!

Good luck and have a nice time!

Sounds like you'll be at WDW for the free dining plan (with the ressie rack rate room and tickets). Wow on the whole traveling across the US from coast to coast, Kuds to you!!!

we have decided not to stop at Corinth we are just going to drive from Huntsville to Memphis i think its only a 6 hour drive so thats not that bad.

I'm a newbie and just kind of stumbled onto your post. I live near Memphis, and have been to Huntsville many times. It shouldn't take you as long as six hours to get from H'ville to Memphis. If you drive on Highway 72, it'll take around 4 maybe 4 1/2 hours and you'll see parts of the Natchez Trace Parkway. In September, you'll see lots of the fall foliage. Very beautiful. While in Memphis, you should see the zoo. They opened a new exhibit on animals of the Northwest. There's also a panda exhibit. If you like barbecue, you should eat at The Rendezvous. Best ribs on the planet. Beale Street has a lot of Blues Music and BB King often makes guest appearances. The Civil Rights Museum is truly inspiring, and the Ducks at the Peabody are so cute.

We are just trying to find out when you purchase GAS is local and state taxes included in the price per gallon or is it added on after purchase?

How much tip should we leave each day in our hotel room? there will be 2 adults and 1 child.
