We are going to DW on 6/19 for 5 days.

Our PSs are at the following restarants: Fulton Crab House, Chef Mickeys, Hollywood & Vine,San Angel Inn.
I was budgeting $100 per dinner for each of these. We are a family of 4 (me, DH, DD12 and DS8). Does that sound reasonable?

The other night we are going to Mickeys Backyard BBQ(already paid for).

These are early PS so we will be eating a light lunch? Will $20 per day be enough for that?

so basically $120.00 per day for food.

What do you all think?

TIA

I would first look at the menus on Deb Will's site (allearsnet.com) and look at the prices. I think that $100 sounds good for your sitdown meals.

I also think that $20 a day is cutting it close, unless you all just plan to order maybe 2 combo meals and share that way.

Are you staying onsite? For $115/day you can get the MYW meal plan, which is more food and less money then your budget right now (unless you lose a room discount that is).

DH, DS9 and I are going to be in WDW next week...from using Deb Will's site for menu prices, I'm counting on $85 at Chef Mickey's and for counter service throughout the trip, I have budgeted $25 - $30 for each meal. I noted that even just getting a slice of pizza and a Coke at Pizza Planet for the 3 of us came to like $26.00. So, I do think you may be a bit low on the counter service lunches...sounds like you're on target for the sit-down dinners.

don't forget tax and tip for sit downs.

I agree, if you are staying on site, MYW Dining is the way to go. You will get a better bang for your buck and actually save money in the end.

In your case I have to agree w/ the other posters the myw dining plan would be your best option...then you know lunch, dinner and snack w/ tax and tip are covered and you will only have to think about breakfast!( you could have something light in room!!!)

I think your estimate sounds a little low. Do look into the MYW plan-- we used it a couple weeks ago, and it was great!

We are a family of 4 (me, DH, ds then 3 and ds then 15 months), and on our trip last fall I budgeted $140 per day. Most days we came in under our budget by $10-15, but two days we were a little over. We had one sit-down meal (usually a character meal, but my baby was free for those) and ate counter service the rest of the time. For our counter service meals, we spent around $20 each meal, I think breakfast was a little cheaper, maybe around $15 or so at the food court. This year we're using the MYW dining plan and have budgeted $25 more per day for the meal we have to pay for.

Hope this helps, enjoy your trip!

When dh and I went last time to Fulton's Crab House our meal for 2 people went to 115.00 with tip but was well worth it. We always go at least once a trip. Enjoy. :flower:

I don't think Fulton's is on the Dining Plan, do that won't really help the OP. I think that Fulton's will go over your budget, but the other table service restaurants will be fine!!! Maybe they will balance out!! Don't forget to add in for alcohol, tax, and tip. These can really add up!!

We are staying at Saratoga Springs, don't know if that counts as onsite. We are also planning on eating breakfast in the room.

We tend to not go too overboard when eating in restaurants and probably not a whole lot of alcohol (especially when it is HOT).

So, I should plan $150 per day for food...does that sound better?

Thanks for all your suggestions.

We just came back and I had budgeted 200.00/day with one nice sit down meal per day and we ate breakfast in our room. This was for 5 adults. I was glad that we did not do the food package for two reasons, one being that we would never have been able to eat so much for and second reason is that some of the restaurants we wanted weren't on the package. The total budgeted was 2000.00 over 10 days, and we only ended up spending 1100.00 which we thought was fabulous! Yippee....imagine coming home with money?
Also, we did not cut back at all and ate what we wanted.

Yeah i am trying to figure out what to bring for 9 nights on site

breakfast not needed since we will just ahve it our hotel

It is just for myself and my 7 year old, how much would you say per day?

lunch on the run and a sit down dinner

2 nights we are doing dinner shows

For Fulton's and San Angel I budget $100 for me and DH....our DD's don't have to pay yet....but if you don't have appetizer's, dessert or liquor.....then I guess $100 would be fine for 4.
