Planning First Post-Covid Trip

So my partner and I were lucky enough to take our newborn to WDW last February before the world went haywire. With all the changes and restrictions, we decided not to visit WDW until after things returned to closer to normal. But in the past week learning that the park reservation system will stay in place all of this year and next made us re-think how long it will be before WDW is close to what it was pre-pandemic. Then we got the GF discount email and it pushed us over the edge. We decided to book a trip for June and make the most of the new normal! I think we know most of the changes and restrictions from keeping up here. Nevertheless, as we finalize our plans, there are a number of questions and.or things I think the good people here can help answer and confirm.

1. I know magic bands are no longer free. Are the new solid colors available at the same price as the old colors? Also, if we decline the band, do we just get a card at the resort or does disney mail the card in advance? Does the card do everything the band did? Mainly, I like the convenience of not carrying cash or a credit card around the parks when I need to make a purchase. Can one of us get a band and the other get the free card?

2. Are the boats running between Wilderness Lodge and MK? I think I read they are, but wanted to confirm.

3. If we make park reservations when we book, can we later change the reservation do a different park, assuming there is capacity available?

4. We are thinking of going to the parks on a Sunday and Monday. In the current environment, is there a better day for MK between those two days of the week?

5. I know masks are required in the parks. What about the pool?

1. You can get plain colors for $5. If you decline you can pick up a card at the front desk. You can have a mix of cards/bands.

1. You may also use the bands from your previous trip(s) if you'd prefer not to but new ones.

4. Both Sunday and Monday tend to be busier at MK because people often arrive on Saturday and Sunday and want that to be their first park. That being said, I'd recommend Monday.

Mask are required when walking to the pool from your room and when ordering at the pool bar. They are not required while lounging, in the pool, or heading to/from the pool from your lounger.
