Planning a trip in December '06...

Was wondering if Pop Warner always goes in December? If so, does anyone know when they post their visiting dates? We would like to plan our trip around this event, if possible. Thanks for any tips!

If I'm not mistaken it is usually the first weekend in December. Hope that helps!

Have a great trip! WDW is great at that time of year! We have been at that time several times and have never had a problem with the Pop Warner crowd. However, we have been at deluxes.

It is always around the same time - this year I think it is Dec 4 - 10, so next year is probably Dec 3 - 9. I have been there several times during this and haven't seen much impact (just one day at MGM, a group of cheerleaders broke out into cheers!), but we usually stay at the BW. However, one year I did stay at ASSP during that time and except for noticing lots of the kids around, I didn't notice much different. However, others do have different opinions and experiences with this. (And since we will be there again this year during that time, I hope my experience is still good)

Thank you, kindly! We're very excited to plan a trip during the Christmas season. We hadn't heard of Pop Warner until these boards , so we just wanted to plan accordingly.

Woohoo I'm planning a trip in December 06 too

As far as Pop Warner it appears to happen the first full week of december.

Unfortunatly I don't know exactly when they release the official word.

We've been every year since 1998 bout the same time as the Pop Warner kids - first week of December. IMHO, unless you plan to stay at one of the values, there's no need to worry about this event. There is very little (if any) noticable difference in the park crowds. Disney may close MGM early one of the days for a special event just for the PW kids, but that is easily worked around.

I would not care to stay at any of the "official" Pop Warner resorts - the participants do crowd the pools, food courts and buses and there are always a few groups (and those include groups of parents/chaperones) who behave rudely. That said, I have no hesitation in scheduling my trip for the same time - we stay at the BWV and have never see the problems described by others on these forums.

I believe Pop Warner will be the 3rd- 9th if they keep the same format of dates. We were there Pop Warner week last year and had no problems. We stayed at POFQ- and there were a few there- but we asked to be placed away from them and experienced no problems at all. The parks were great- light crowd. We will be returning the same week next year- Dec. 3-9. This is the only week after Thanksgiving that fits in our work schedules. Don't worry about Pop Warner unless you are planning to stay in a value.
