Hello Everyone,

Me and my wife are looking into bringing my daughter for her birthday in February of 2023. I know that currently we can not book that far ahead. I was curious if it would be smart to book a “trip” let’s say in December of 2022 and then change the dates of the trip to when we really want to go. That way we can start making the payments on the trip. Didn’t know if this is something someone has done before. Thank you in advance for all of your input!

Unless you're trying to shift a Disney Visa no interest purchase into a specific month to cover something (or some other CC type thing you might have - like a new card member offer that's only good right now), there would be no reason to book a trip for a time period in which you are sure you aren't going.

Seasoned trip planners always book far in advance and make changes as needed. Know your cancellation windows, and you can make changes right up until then.

I don't know if you've booked your trip yet, but for future reference, I know that when we book to stay at Fort Wilderness we can phone reservations and book 499 days out from check-in date. Not sure if that's the policy for all resorts. Hope you are able to book your trip for February next year and enjoy a fabulous birthday with your daughter.
