Planners for 2008 - Join me here! UPDATE - List in OP!!!

ok, doesn't sound as bad as it could had i posted this, say, 100 days ago.
we'll be going to the world june 11-20, 2008. staying at pop or fort wilderness cabins. hopefully getting the dining plan (if they're still offering it), hitting mk 2 days, epcot 2 days, ak 1/2 day, mgm 1 day, bb 1 day, and 1 free day in the middle of it all.

we were just there last june (10 months ago). with this one being just 14 months away it's starting to seem like not too much time. hope it goes by fast. had a great time in june 06, but planning on this one being much better. hoping we don't have a tropical storm (alberto) looming overhead all week. have 5 dk's. dd's will 15 and 11. ds's will 10 and 5. and youngest dd will be 2, almost 3. she's the most easy going of the group so she should have a much better time than she did last year at the age of 10 months.

anyway, can't wait. had to share with someone.

Okay so I don't have an "official" trip planned, BUT I'm getting married in 2008 and am hoping that I can get DF to agree to a Disneymoon! The only problem is that we're getting married in June and there is NO WAY I'm fighting the crowds then! Any suggestions of other times would be great. Either way...keep your fingers crossed for me!

Count me in on this one. It will be my 2nd trip to WDW and my baby's 1st trip! It's hard to believe it's still a little over a year away, but the Mouse is worth the wait.:thumbsup2

I am planing to go September next year. Spending a week staying at WL, hopefully free dining will be out again next year. This whole plan depends on convincing my BF and how much I can save. Unlike you lucky Americans I have to travel around the world and my airfairs will be more than staying in WDW for a week.

Wish me luck in getting there. :hippie:

Well, we got married in Aug. 1998, and didn't honeymoon til November 1999!! We wanted to wait and go to WDW with his whole family -- for my nieces first trip (she was 2 1/2) .. So, we waited over a year.
And november weather is perfect! :thumbsup2

Also, i think we will be switching our hotel for Nov.2008, We were going to stay Sugarloaf at the Grand, but due to my sis-in-law's family wanting to come, we are going to switch to a mod resort so that my MIL can help her (my sil) pay for her rooms.. (My MIL is soooo nice!:thumbsup2 ) And, i have no problem giving up the Grand to have my sis in law come, We are the same age, and we are like best friends.. And my niece and my dd are only 3 yrs apart, and get along great.. So, i say the more the merrier!!
So, i think b/c there is five in our room (we stay with the inlaws) that we are switching to POR. Alligator Bayou.
B/c my sis in law needs two rooms, there is 6 in her group..

Going in March next year. First time staying at a moderate.....hope it's nice.....been reading bad and good things about CBR....but hey, it's DISNEY!!:goodvibes

:yay: Glad to see I'm not the only long range planner! I'm going this November with my bf. December 2008 my dh and I are doing a family trip with my dn, her dh, dd and ds. I can't wait to share the magic with the little ones! Our plans are:

Resort: Pop Century
Dec. 4-13 (I think)
Transportation: NWA, DME.

We're already working on designs for matching t-shirts. :rotfl:

Can I join in the fun?

I am in the very early stages of planning our first family trip to WDW. I have been 4 times in the past -- 3 times as a kid with my family (in the late 70s, early and mid 80s) and again with my then-boyfriend in 1993. This will be my DH's very first trip to Disney ever, along with our 3 kids, who will be 6, 4 and 4. We are going for DD's 7th birthday and we plan to surprise her (and her sisters) the night before we leave! This is one secret that will be sooooo hard to keep!

Dates: July 12-19, 2008
Hotel : Poly or Contemporary (hopefully Poly if we can swing it)
Tickets: 6 day park hoppers
DDP: Yes
Travel: Driving from Tennessee (about 12 hours)

Well, I AM not even going to book a resort for nxt year's trip yet!! I cant decide, already changed resorts 2 x for this September's trip!!!
At least we are trying a different resort this time, then I can decide and compare!!! I did have Dolphin booked for next years trip, but cancelled, still not sure! Hate to pass up ME and the DDP!!
Happy Planning everyone!

We did the suprise the night before thing last December for our 3 kids first trip! So hard to keep the secret all year long but so, so fun!

My 330 day window just just opened for airfare. We moved our dates to March 9-15 to try and be out before all the Easter week folks move in. Anyway the prices are nothing great, $235 was the lowest I found. The planner in me just wants to get the airfare booked so I have SOMETHING done for this trip! But the other side of me says to be patient and wait it out. There is so much time and it might be worth waiting till Jet Blue fares come out in the fall.

Last year we booked really early and got a nice $177 fare. Maybe I'll just keep checking and if it drops below $200 I'll do it.

Anyone here have air yet for early 2008 trips?

I think we'll tell the kids at Christmas about our March trip. If I can keep a secret that long!

I have airfare out of Detroit book for March 8 to March 15/08. I booked a group of 12 seats to get the group rate, now I just need to find 8 other people to come with me.

The advantage is I get the rate posted now and if it drops, and I call, I will get the lower rate before I have to pay, no vouchers to deal with. The disadvantage is a deposit that is not refunded until you return.

But the deal is pretty good and I don't have to firm up the seats until April 28. Anyone interested in flying Detroit to Orlando on those dates?

Jo-Anne

Hi Chel

We surprised the kids with a second trip in one year. We told them we were going someplace and that it was new and would be a surprise. We were going to stay onsite for the first time, so I thought it was like someplace new. :cool1:

We told the kids when we stopped to say goodbuy to Grandma so she could see the reaction and both the kids started to cry because they thought it would be "someplace" new not just a new place at Disney. I never expected that reaction. :confused3 Once we got there they had a good time, but no more surprise trips in our house.

They also enjoy all the planning that goes into a trip now instead. :surfweb:

:lmao: Gotta laugh at the kids crying because they were going to Disney! That would be my oldest daughter. She is like me and does not do surprise well at all. me when I'm surprised. That is why I already told dd about the trip, she is good at helping me surprise the other 3 kids. Plus for me the planning and anticipation is part of the fun. I wouldn't want to wait until the airport to surprise them! I think a nice Christmas present will do!

We live in Canada and I had to tell the two kids to stop crying or the customs officer at the border would think I had kidnapped them.

No one would believe two little girls were crying because they were going to Disney would they?

I added a day to my vacation! Now, we arrive on Oct 13 for 1 night at the Pop. Then we move over to POR for Oct 14-19. Airfare was much cheaper going to Orlando on Saturday instead of Sunday!

I booked our flights. I was able to get our airfare for $198.00 out of PHL....this is for Jan.

Hi all!:wave2:

I was wondering if I could join in on the long wait for 2008?

We were planning on going again in January but my DH is going to be in the police academy so we have to wait. We are planning for October for MNSSHP!:cool1:

I have about 540 some days to go! But I know it will go by REAL fast!

I see that some of you are going in less than a year! :dance3:
