I ended up booking a room only with Disney. I was able to get the WL in a std view room!!!! We are going the end of Jan. for 7 nights. I also booked my air today. So, the only thing now I have to wait for is to change the room only to a package with DDP once the rates come in.

Have deciced on April 11-19 2008!! Still trying to pick which value to stay.
Last two trips we stayed at POP. It was great, but would like to try a new one. Anyone have suggestion? I am leaning toward ASMovies.

We are going as a family in November of this year.......but next August is a girls only trip! I am going to start planning that one after I make our ADR's in May....

My Mom finally told my stepdad they were coming with us. I was nervous about that. He is a man of wee patience and honestly if he wasn't into the idea I would have rather him stayed home and just my Mom come with us. I just don't need a Super Impatient Grumpy on this trip. She said he took it well though and said that was fine, he'd like to go. He did say to my Mom that she always does what I want. Well I'm an only child, duh!

I'm excited about this trip. We'll be there on her 60th birthday (St Patrick's Day) and I want to really make it special for her!

I'm already thinking T-shirts for the kids that say "My Grammy is 60 Today", mine to say "My Mom is 60 Today", my stepdad's to say "My wife is 60 Today" and hers of course to say "The Queen is 60 Today" or something like that. I think it'll be fun and goofy and where else but WDW to be goofy!

Booking a sibling bonding trip for January 5th-12th. We are waiting to book until the packages come out, although I am wondering whether or not I should book now just to secure my desired room type.

Dates: Jan 5th-12th

Resort: First two nights Portofino Bay at Universal (It is the only way to do Universal Studios/IOA because of the Universal Express privelege for resort guests. Your room key is like a permanent FastPass) then moving to either Contemporary or Polynesian depending on what the construction situation is at the Contemporary (we definitely like the Contemporary better, but don't want to stay in a construction site)

Plan: Probably just regular Magic Your Way since we eat weird (and we are probably doing concierge since the grazing style of food works better for us), but we might do the DDP.

Transportation: Flying, shuttle from MCO to Universal and on to Disney, Disney transportation while there and ME back to MCO (we can't rent a car and it was a hassle the last time our family went to WDW, much better just to pay for the transfers for the two times we would really need a rental car).

I am taking my DS age 9 and my DN for her high school graduation present this May, 21-25. I am taking DD, DS ,(age then 10) and DGD's ages then will be 8 and 11 next May as a graduation gift foy my DD who will be a teacher finally!
So, am looking forward to scouting out things this year to be more prepared the next. In May 2009, my other DD will graduate from nusing school( joining me and all her aunts as RN's) so will be taking her and my other 2 DGD ( ages then will be 4 and 7) as well as DS again who will then be 11!
Needless to say I will be saving money alot over the next 2 years!
I want this to be the trip to remember so don't want to scimp, but will have to be c little careful. Thought the new family suites at the value resort will be perfect!
So, I am both a long term planner, plus a short term planner! Haven't been there in 10 years, can use any pointers I can get!

I have been planning my March 08 trip since July 06. I already know what I want to do for March 09!!!!!

We are DVC owners and like they tell you...you should plan a few years ahead so that you can make the most of your ownership....what a great excuse.

The girls I work with love to ask me where we are going next on my first day back to work from a trip. And I usually have an answer for them.

It is what keeps me sane.

Hey...finally people who plan as far in advance as I do. We just figured out that my brother wants to go to Disney for his HS graduation present . So we will be there in June of 2008...of course my brother is going, as well as me his sister, i will be 21 by this trip...my grandma who is paying and of course our mom. Here are the facts right now:

Dates: all we know is June 2008(depends on school schedules)
Resort: we can't decide...we've thought about a split stay at POP and CR...but also doing 2 rooms at POP...ANY TIPS??????
DDP: Of course
Tickets: Either 7 or 8 Day PH

I can't wait for this trip...I look forward to planning with you for the next year!

My plans have changed already! My nephew will be in DisneyWorld with his school orchestra April 4-8, so of course I simply have to go and see him play . As of right now, I am thinking of staying with my sis and the rest of her family at CSR. I might fly down a couple of days early myself, sis plans to drive down with the rest of her gang. I'm sure the Spring Break crowds will be a shock after all of my October trips, but how can you not have fun at DisneyWorld?

I was thinking of going to see the 4th of July fireworks from the Poly beach this year, but I probably can't swing 2 trips so close together. So maybe it will just have to be a long weekend in October for the F&W festival. Again. Maybe I can do the 4th next year.

On our last trip, we had 2 rooms at POP...loved it! Having the 2 bathrooms and 2 tv's is great. We originally had this booked for our 08 tip, but changed to Dolphin for location.

However, knowing myself, may change resorts again! lol...All depends on room rates and discounts, too early now.
We had 2 connecting rooms in the 60's area, lakeside...quiet and so close to everything! I loved the pool area here, more lush and the kiddie pool is great!
My Dh still isnt happy though the whole trip will prob cost $4K.....he'd rather spend the money elsewhere than on a vacation Probably doesnt help we bought a vacation park trailer in WI last October!
Well, happy planning everyone, before you know it, we will be able to change our room only ressies to packages!!

We are planning for the May / June '08.....It will be myself, DH, DNiece, DAunt, DUncle, DSis, and DBIL.... It is mine & DH 3rd time, DA, DSis and DN 2nd time.... DU and DBIL 1st....
I just started reading and planning.... I have never planned this far in advance.... I have read you can book rooms now or wait until Aug and book packages. Seeing as I am new to long term planning which is better?
This is the plan (for now).... As alway subbject to change.....

Hotel : Pop's Century (2-3 rooms)
Tickets: 8 day park hoppers
DDP: of course....
Dates: ?????

I've just booked our room only res. at the ASMu Family Suites for 4/27-5/03. It will be me, dh, ds (6), dd(4), and dd (15mos). I'm so excited and can't wait to go back, it's been three very long years.

I am planning our family trip for Sept 19-28 2008. I called AAA today and they do not yet have the rates for this time period yet.

We want to stay at POP in a preferred room. Get the 10 day park hopper plus package and the dining plan.

I've got my fingers crossed that free dining will be offered during my stay.. That would make the trip even more magical.

I think my count is right at 17 months..... I hope I can wait that long...

We are going this July but we already have our dates set for 2008 too God is good!!! So I'd love to join in the 2008 crew please We'll be there from June 27, 2008 through July 4, 2008. I love my DIS friends plan and get as excited as I do as far in advance! DISers are the Coolest!!!

oh well our dates have changed DS wants to do the MNSSHP next year so we'll be there from October 9 - October 13, 2008 - gotta start studying up on MNSSHP!!! fun stuff !!!!!!

I have our 25th anniversary trip booked for May 2, 2008 for 15 nights!!! We're doing a 4 hotel hop. First stop WL concierge, then CR Atrium club, then YC water view and ending at the AKL concierge!! It'll be the first time in 25 years we're traveling w/o the kids!! Can't tell you how much I am waiting for this trip : ) We're flying down from NY and taking the train home. Should be an interesting trip.
