Planet Hollywood, yes or no? Please tell me your experience

wow, where did you eat?
Planet Hollywood was on 1st night and the best meal we had. We were on the DDP too. We wanted to go back this year but they aren't taking ressies during our trip. (last week of Aug.)
We ate at: Coral Reef, not that much food, crab legs:mad: , left hungry.
Liberty Tree Tavern, good time, going back this trip.
Hollywood and Vine, didn't like it, long wait and food not that good.
Garden Grill, good characters, good food, going back again.
Cinderella's Royal Table for DD's Birthday Diner, food OK not the best, felt rushed through the meal by waiter.
Whispering Canyon, great atmosphere, DD had fun, left stuffed. Get the BOTTOMLESS MILKSHAKES:drinking1 going back again.
Earl of Sandwich just ok.

DD keeps asking to go back to Planet Hollywood, without being able to make a ressie we just may pop in there for a lunch as ADRs are already set.

Planet Hollywood is decent but unspectacular food. The best I can say about it is that the portions are large which should tell you something.

It is reasonably priced and we used to eat there before we started doing the Dining Plan. Once we switched to the Dining Plan we all agreed that we could easily skip it.

That's where we start every trip! Our first night is always spent at DTD at PH. We love the burgers, chicken, fries, etc. We're very much a meat and potatoes kind of family. It is a loud, but so what?! ;) Means no one is paying attention to how loud and excited you are to finally be at Disney! :goodvibes Portions are big, food is great and the atmosphere/memoribilia is definitely cool. Sorry, but I like TGIFriday's, Ruby Tuesdays, etc.

We had a dinner ADR this past April.

It was crowded and LOUD! It's not that I didn't enjoy the music or anything, but I had to practically scream at the waiter so he could hear our order.

I liked a lot of the appetizers and our meals were pretty good as well. I was a little bummed that even with Dlx DDP we were only allowed to order one dessert between the two of us--we were forced to share, and it's not like the portions were outrageously large or anything.

I don't know if I'd go back anytime soon. It wasn't exactly a relaxing meal and the food wasn't anything out of the ordinary, though it was tasty enough.

I think the food at PH is pretty lousy. I wouldn't refuse to go, but it certainly would not be at the top of my list.

I am curious as well. What other restaurants did you go to while there?

I would choose Raglan Road anyday. We did not enjoy PH at all!!! Some people enjoy it, but it wasn't for us. The food was not good, and it was soooo loud!!!

I agree- food was pretty bad, tables crowded in there tight, everytime servers walk through they are bumping into the chairs and VERY noisy. I would not bother going there again.

Planet Hollywood was the worst meal of our 10-day trip. The tables were way too close together. We could hardly even pull our chairs out to sit down. The waiter was rude and downright dishonest. We asked for plain bread to make our very picky autistic son a peanut butter sandwich (we had our own peanut butter). He said they didn't have any. I asked about the bread they use for the club sandwiches. He said it's already cut into little triangles so it wouldn't work. Really? I thought they cut sandwiches after they make them. He tried to force us to order everything we were entitled to on the dining plan. Our 11 year old was listed as an adult but didn't like any of the appetizers. The waiter said, "Just order it. You don't have to eat it." We assumed he was trying to drive the bill up because he was getting his automatic 18% tip (this was in '06). The Cobb salad was the worst I've ever had - brown lettuce and greasy cheese. It was just bad all around. My son even said, "Mommy, when we were in there it felt like we weren't even at Disneyworld anymore." That says it all.:sad1:

We had ADRs for Planet Hollywood this past December. We really enjoyed it! It was kind of loud, but when your kids are already kind of on the loud side, you don't mind having their noises "blend in" ;)

Not sure about Ragland Road, but Planet Hollywood does not take ADR's...they do accept the dining plan. We've been once, the food was good. We're going end of August and planning to go to PH again, at DD14s request.

Planet Hollywood DOES take ADR's however they have to be at 180 days from the day you will eat at Planet Hollywood not from your check in day. We made ADR's there last August and again for this October. My dh loved it and requested to eat there again this trip. The food was good and much better then a Ruby Tuesday or Applebees as posted above. :confused3 We loved it and it will more then likely become a must do on future trips as well!

Planet Hollywood was the worst food we ever ate, complete garbage and the prices where ridiculous and the service sucked.

I really hope it is different for you and your family.

wow- IMO the food didn't even come NEAR to applebees quality (and that is pretty low LOL)- it was more like burger king quality to us!

Love both of them, I guess I must like the Chain restaurants, they have an awesome appie selection and desserts . We all had steak and they were very good! I also love Raglan Road , the Bread pudding is awesome. I had the sausage stuffed pork which was very good ! Next time I want the chowder after seeing pix of it !! Can't go wrong with either !!

for some reason, PH doesnt always take reservations. we are going the last week of august and they arent giving out reservations for that week. i called 4 times in the last 3 months to see if i just had to wait longer, nope, they just arent doing them. im sure there are other times of the year they do this as well.
