We recently went to Planet Hollywood with the intention of using two DDP credits along with 2 of the $15 vouchers. I had read conflicting posts on the board about whether or not you could use them together and thought as long as you told the server to do it on two separate checks it could be done. Anyway, our server flat told us she would not do two separate checks and therefore we had to use either the DDP for everyone or the vouchers -- but not both. She was actually very abrupt about it and it made us feel like second-class citizens for even inquiring.

We also ran into a problem with the desserts...she said the desserts were intended for two people and we had to share them even though we ended up using 4 TS dining credits. True to fashion, everyone wanted something different so DH and I let the kids pick and then shared with them. It was just very awkward. It seemed like the whole dining experience there was her telling us what we could and couldn't do...I felt like I was eating in the principal's office! :teeth:

Overall, the entrees were only so-so and it was so loud we couldn't even hear what each other was saying (we realized this ahead of time but still wanted to give it a try -- just didn't know how noisy it would truly be). So unless you really love Planet Hollywood, don't fool with the vouchers or DDP TS credits as there's much better options to be had elsewhere.

We had a very similar experience back in Dec 06. The first thing the waiter did was ask if we were on the Dining Plan. When we said yes, he asked to see our card so he could determine what we were entitled to order. He noted that our 11 year old had to order off the adult menu. We told the waiter that our son has food issues (he has Asperger's) and prefers to order off the kid's menu. The waiter was visibly ticked off. He also said the 11 year old was required to order an appetizer. Required? There was nothing on the appetizer menu the kids wanted to eat (the younger one was 8 at the time). I asked if they could make them chips and salsa and he refused (they do have chips and salsa on the menu, just not together). So I said we would not be ordering him an appetizer.

It was obvious that this guy was trying to make us order everything possible so the bill would be higher and, thus, his 18% automatic tip. If we didn't order the appetizer we were entitled to it should be our loss, not his. But he was very rude. I came close to asking for his manager a few times.

Besides the rude waiter, the place was very, very noisy, as you mentioned. Plus the tables were so close together we could hardly move. When they showed us our table, the people in the chairs around us were pushed up next to our chairs. We literally couldn't even pull the chairs out from the table 2 inches, let alone enough to sit down. The hostess just stood there and said nothing and didn't try to help. The people around us finally scooted a little but it was still way too tight. We should have gone running for the door right then.

Finally, my brilliant son summed it all up after we left. He said, "Mommy, when we were in there, it felt like we weren't even in Disney anymore." The Asperger mind tends to be very literal and he certainly spoke the truth that time!

When our hostess showed us to our table right in the middle cramped between everyone we took that as our clue to leave immediatley. Went to Earl of sandwich and had a great relaxing meal.

Can these vouchers be used just to grab something to go, if so, where would you order? And, could you use 2 then, I guess Dh and I could order 2 separate things to go.

I had wondered about using the $15 certificate at the same time. We ended up NOT making an ADR at PH...figured that was a place we could eat at anywhere, not exclusive Disney. Then thought maybe if we needed an extra "snack" one day we could use the $15 there for some fries or something. Glad I did now.

I have got ADR for late Oct there and for some strange reason my better half:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: wants to eat there. I work in the adult bervage industry and I have no problem turning the tables on servers and managers. I can give it just like I have to take it. I personally think it is just an over rated hamburger joint but who am I to judge after all I pay for it all after the DW tells me to :rotfl2:

Can we just use the $15 voucher.. ?? We were thinking of just going in for an appitizer or 2 and drinks to hold us over till dinner. Or do they REQUIRE you to use your dinning plan too?

They have no way of knowing that you are on the dining plan. Everyone staying on Disney Property gets a voucher, not just the DDP people. When they ask if you are on the DDP, just say "no". You can do this for any restaurant that you want to pay OOP for!:thumbsup2

My family has a ressie for PH this Oct and am now worried about the comment of two people sharing one dessert. Oh, and we'll be on the DDP also. Has anyone else experienced this recently? TIA

Ok really, we'll be 2 kids and 3 disney adults on the plan, what happens with odd # of people...does one noe get dessert??

We ate there on Saturday and it was not only delicious, but the service was great! We got sat pretty quickly (had an ADR), our server was lovely, and we each got an entree, drink, and dessert. I don't know about this whole sharing of desserts issue because everyone around us was on the DDP and each person got their own dessert.

We had wonderful food, and it was fun! I read tons of negative reviews about PH, but we have nothing but nice things to say about the service and food.

Glad to read this. We have an ADR in Nov. I would be dissapointed if we only were able to get one dessert.

We ate there back in early 2000, and absolutely refuse to ever go back. The tables are too close together, it's too loud and the food and service were not good. We much prefer to drive over to Universal and eat at the Hard Rock.

While the Hard Rock still has the atmosphere/music...etc, it's not as loud, and the tables are spaced.....the food is also really good :)

I thought I read on the vouchers that they could be used on merchandise? Duh....I just read them again and we got the 'merchandise voucher' and the 15.00 food voucher for both rooms.

We got our free merchandise (a tiny Planet Hollywood keychain) and 15% off any merchandise we bought from the gift shop.

it clearly states right on the voucher that it can not be combined with the dining plan. i dont think you should blame your server for your lack of reading it:confused3 .

we were a bit confused about the desert options as well. but you are given 2 choices. there are deserts made for one person where you would each get your own, or there are the large desserts that feed 2. you make the choice which you prefer:confused3

we very much enjoyed our food there, but i agree its way too loud!!

Oh I read it alright (learned that skill many, many decades ago...thank you very much), but had seen several reports on the board that you could use it as long as it was separate checks. It was the manner in which the server delivered the news that had me a bit upset.

I'm glad you enjoyed your experience there, but for me, it wasn't anything special and we have chosen not to return.

Not everyone at Disney gets a voucher ... only those with a "package". Room only reservations do not get the voucher.

I was there in March and went in to use my voucher ... crowded, noisy, food very mediocre and served within 3 minutes of placing our order. We were out the door within 30 minutes.

My personal belief is that you will be happier throwing the voucher in your resort trash can than trying to use it.

Do you get the voucher if you booked through a travel agent or just if you booked through disney?
