We will be there in 10 days! Plan for MNSSHP Friday night but HS Friday am. If we get to HS for rope drop, what are are the chances we could ride Rock N Roller coaster without a huge wait? We have FP for later but we're hoping to do RNRC without one. It's our only must do as DS is finally tall enough.

Depends on how many people got there before you :) I haven't actually seen huge lines for RnR or ToT lately (not huge being 30 minutes or lower) during the height of the afternoon. some exceptions but not many. I would think unless everyone rope dropping has the same plan you'll probably be just fine.

You should have a very short wait at rope drop as most guests head to TSMM. The wait time for RNRC is only 30 minutes right now, according to the app, and it's 12:45p ET.

If you get to the gate 20-30 min before rope drop and go straight there you will definitely be able to do it once, possibly even twice in a row!

Thanks! Will be staying at Dolphin, we can walk to HS correct? First time at Dolphin.

Sometimes RnRC does not open at Rope Drop. (it has frequent downtimes at park open. I have had that happen. If they allow you in line, they are ready to go. If not, wait around the area or ride ToT then go back to it. This is infrequent and heading to RnRC is a good strategy.

I agree with a poster above that the wait times haven't been that bad really (by Disney standards). A lot of the rush in the morning at RD there is for the Jedi Academy and things Star Wars...

You're probably psyching yourself out...

We were at HS on 8/29, arrived 8:36 and they let everyone in a minute later ( but held those of us wanting to head down Sunset Blvd at Trolley Car Cafe). Once they let us go, we were able to ride RnRC twice with no wait. Even after that the wait was only up to 20 minutes; granted it was a somewhat "slower" week :)

We were there on Memorial Day. Now, granted that was a holiday, but we got there super early, positioned ourselves well as we waited behind the rope, headed straight there, and road something like like the third car that left that morning. When we got off the attraction it was probably 9:10 at the latest. The posted wait was up to 70 minutes, and by the looks of the line, that may have been conservative!

Moral of the story. Arriving for rope drop may not be good enough if you do not position yourself to be at the front of the crowd.

I got to DHS right before rope drop during spring break this year. We ran for it, but got on RnRC with under a five minute wait. I think as long as you head straight for it as soon as you enter the park, you'll get on with barely any wait!

I was hoping the Star Wars stuff would be the busiest first thing. DS does not like Star Wars at all. I like TSMM but DS is hyper competitive & pouts if he loses so that one's hit or miss. ToT and RNRC are our best bets.

Any experience with rider switch rnrc at rope drop? Two adults and a one year old. I didn't know if they wouldn't give them out and we just hope we can use turns without big line forming?

We did rider swap in December at RD. I went in the first group to ride and then my husband went on right after I got out. The lines were not long yet and he went right in with the card.

ETA: The CM offered it to us before we could ask.

In April, we stayed at the Swan and loved it. It's in a great location, an easy walk to HS and Epcot.

I know you will enjoy it. Have a great time!

Loving the location for F&W! Also loving the fact that our room is free with Starpoints!
