Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Thank you! It seems costly to only book evening LLs since I'll only be able to use the original three, but I'd rather get what I want ahead of time instead of hoping to snag some evening ones at HS after using the LLs in Epcot first.

Some days it may have to be quality over quantity for us.

We mix up our days with RD/midday break/PM park and other days we sleep in/pool/start in the afternoon. With FP+ we rarely ever pulled extras and did our three prebooks at our evening park or for the evening if we started late. This strategy always worked well for us since you really don’t need morning LL if you RD and use EE. This was cool with me since if was free.

Now that we have to pay my mind tells me to book AM LL and pull extras “to get my moneys worth.” But am I really getting my moneys worth if I have a LL at 9 am to beat a 3 minute wait in AK in the hopes I can pull 3 decent additional LL at DHS that evening? This is my dilemma one day next trip but I think I’m just going to book my 3 at DHS in the evening and RD AK with EE and do standby. This way I know I’ll get ToT, TSM and RnRC.

So my window opened this morning and I booked Tiana first thing….the earliest time I can get is 915 pm! This means no other tier 1 LLs for us that day, right? Or can we choose another tier 1 after we ride our first ride (Hauneted Mansion at 10 am)?

As soon as you use one LL of any tier... it will let you choose another tier 1 pending availability.

Is there a place (or does anyone happen to know) what Tier 1 rides at each park are running out first? Trying to get a sense for how we should prioritize.

TIA!

First time using LLMP and I made reservations for two days next week. I see an option to modify times, and it says "earliest time available is XYZ" where XYZ is an earlier time, but when I click to modify to that earlier time, the system tells me that time isn't available anymore and the only options are after 12PM. This is for one person and happened at 7:05AM after booking and again when I tried a few hours later. Do those earlier LLMPs exist or is this a glitch? Thanks!!

Went to Studios on Sunday, party of 5:
The 3 young adults rope dropped and rode
RnR and Tower and then DH and I joined at 9:15 and we rode Tower with MPLL.
Booked Millennium Falcon
Did some meet and greets: Edna Mode, Sully, Joy, Mrs. Incredible, Max and Goofy
Did Muppets
Lunch at Docking Bay 7
Rode Falcon with MPLL and booked MMRR
Rode Rise with SPLL
Oga’s Cantina
Indiana Jones
Star Tours
Toy Story with MPLL
Slinky with MPLL
One Man’s Dream
Rodeo Round Up for dinner
MMRR with MPLL
Fantasmic

Overall, the new system worked very well for us here. Studios was busy and the lines stayed long all day. One advantage of the new system is that we were able to really minimize our walking when we compared to the amount of walking we did at the Studios last August with Genie+. We also had more down time for meet n greets and such and the day was more relaxed overall since we weren’t bouncing back and forth.

Do you have any dining reservations around the time you’re looking to modify to?

Which rides did you have prebooked and did you have to do a lot of refreshing to get the rest of the rides same day? Were you worried anything would sell out? Sounds like a great day.

Nope! Just trying to overlap my LLMPs. I'm sure it has to do with ride popularity (e.g. Na'vi and Peter Pan), but I just find it curious that it would tell me a Na'vi at 8:15AM is available but when I try to modify it won't let me pick anything earlier than 12PM.

It is simple. Your 7 day advance purchase window is 7 days before your Resort stay start day for lenght of stay or 14 days. In your specific example you are able to purchase your LLMP for your Tuesday park visit 7 days before your Saturday as you posted above.

Dave
Maybe we can use terminology like we do for ADRs 60+2 (60 being the day your window opened and ‘2’ being the day of your trip you’re booking for); so in the example above it would be 7+2

The MDE app really does not allow large overlap modifications before you are in the Park. What are the return times for all 3 of your initial LLMP selections and which specific days next week?

ETA: add missing word allow...

I agree it would be easier but this is the exchange that led to my post...

I just booked our LLs and everything went perfectly! The system gave me the exact times I was hoping for without any modifying.

I booked LLMP for MK - 7+2 days out:
Winnie 9:30-10:30
HM 10:30-11:30
Tiana 2:40-3:40

and then LLSP for Epcot - 7+1 days out:
GOTG 9:15-10:15

.....

What is 7+2? So you booked 9 days out? Or is it within your 7 days from first date of trip?
Someone will always be confused. 7+2 is simply not universally understood.

Ah, interesting. It gave me all LLMPs that were one hour after another, but I'd read reports of people being able to modify to overlap and maybe it just doesn't want me to do that.

At DAK for Wednesday 8/28 currently have KS 8:25-9:25 and NRJ 9:25-10:25. Originally had FOTLK for 11AM show but was able to change it to 10AM show, and then was offered NRJ at 10AM but nothing earlier. Park opens at 8AM. Would just like to bump KS and NRJ a little earlier in the AM which it seems like I should be able to do but it won't let me modify either for before 10AM now despite saying earlier times are available. I could probably drop KS and modify NRJ and then pick up KS, but feels like a risk!

For MK on Thursday 8/29, I have Pooh at 9:15, PP at 10:15, and HM at 11:15. These are fine and we can do other stuff in between, but again it tells me there's LLMPs earlier than these time slots available but it won't let me modify anything for anything earlier than 12PM. Just get a note that says "Please note your arrival window has changed."

We prebooked:
Tower at 9:15 which was earliest available
Toy Story for 4:10 and Slinky for 5:00 which were as close as we could get to our 6:15 Rodeo time.
We also booked SPLL for Rise at 12:15. We had an Oga’s reservation for 1:45 which I forgot to list.
We had looked in the days leading up to booking and both Falcon and MMRR seemed to have the most availability of the main rides. We were confident we could get one as a 4th pass, but not 2. Initial thought had been to ride MMRR after Tower but the line was already nuts, winding all around outside.
After we tapped in for Tower, DD was able to easily get a Falcon time to overlap with our Rise time. At that time (about 9:30) there were plenty of times available.
After riding Falcon (somewhere in the 12:30/1:00 range) we tried for MMRR. Those times were much more limited, but we were able to get one that fit nicely between our dinner and Fantasmic. (7:25-8:25)
We did not try to modify our existing times at all and just worked the day around them, so minimal time was spent on the phone.
Even though the Studios felt packed and the lines stayed long all day, I know it gets much busier and I would imagine that it would be hard to get those additional ride times.
This was a short trip and we only had one day at the Studios so we made the most of it staying the whole day. I do think the $ we spent on passes this day is absurd. But, we definitely felt it was worth it. Last year we tried to rope drop Rise and it was down. I didn’t want to deal with that again. So we went with the shortest route starting with RnR (which went down not too long after the kids rode it) and Tower and having passes/ reservations lined up for Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge.

This is the kind of information I'm looking for. Thank you. Your experience definitely runs counter to those saying "all you get are your prebooked 3 and very little after that"

Once you tapped into your first attraction, how difficult was it to find MPLL's for other popular attractions at the times you wanted? Looks like you were basically able to do it ALL. Did it take a lot of refreshing or searching?

My daughter did one day in DHS. I feel you can do all of the rides with LLMP at DHS (or any of the parks) if you stay all day and start early. I like to park hop but I’ve contemplated not hopping this trip to make the most out of LLMP but I just can’t do it.
