Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

So I am watching videos and getting a bit confused on how many MPLL you can hold. When you tap in your first ride you can book a 4th pass, is that 4th pass in total or now you can hold 4 passes and you actually quickly book 2 after tap in?

I am seeing people hold 4 passes in the video.
For multi-pass you hold 3 passes at a time. You make your selection of the three, and then can make new selections after each scan in. So you are maintaining a total of 3 passes.

In addition to the multi-pass, there is also the single pass (previously referred to as individual lightning lane) for rides you have to pay separately to get a lightning lane spot for (i.e. rise of the resistance, seven dwarves mine train, etc.)

Im guessing the videos youre watching show 4 passes due to the user having 3 rides for multi-pass, and then 1 single ride pass for a total of 4.

1. LLSP can be made in any park, not restricted to your LLMP park
2. Just because you start your day in EP doesn't mean you have to book your LLMP for Epcot, if you don't want to use it for EP just book it for DHS from the beginning so you have a better selection to pick from.
Thanks, and just thought of another question. With genie+ my fiancee and I usually split booking duties at 7. Meaning one of us would grab lightning lane reservations while the other grabbed an ILL reservation on their phone/account.

Can that still be done? Meaning at 7 am I grab multi-pass reservations per day, while she focuses on Single passes for rides?

The tier 1 restriction appears to be only for the first set of bookings - so not all the top rides are gone before everyone going to the parks that day has a chance. After your first one is used or expired, you should be able to book another without tier restrictions and at any park (assuming you have park hopping options).
There have been conflicting reports, but the majority say that letting one expire does not unlock tier and park restrictions. You have to use one (tap in) in order to unlock the tier and park restrictions.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the best way to do this would be for you each to book under your individual accounts that are linked. Once they're properly linked each of you should be able to select the full party (both your accounts) for the bookings.

The issue you may run into is if there are overlapping times for your LLMP selections and the LLSP. I'd imagine you'd have to coordinate carefully to avoid getting glitches or errors. For example, you might tell your partner that both of your LLSP selections need to be after 3 p.m. so you can book the LLMP selections as early as possible and avoid overlapping times.

I agree with the conflicting reports - will be good to know for certain. Just not sure I'd understand the difference between expired and used - unless they're looking to prevent a 'hack' where people book some tier 2 as early as possible in the morning without planning to use it, and then booking another tier 1 by 9:00 or so after the 'throwaway' expires, perhaps even before they arrive at the park. Sorry, I've been reading more that it does work, but have not seen it first-hand. I wonder if perhaps park entry affects the result. If you're in the park, perhaps "A" happens, where if you're not in the park it's "B". I also tend to wonder how many updates/corrections IT has made to fix or close issues that might have slipped through since 7/24!

Is the 15 minute grace period on the back end still a thing? I was able to move up one of our LLs for tomorrow, but we'll be cutting it close. I'm going to try and push it back a little but I know that may not be possible.

Disney thought of and therefor prevented. Have there been first hand accounts on the dis that this a hack that works? From what I’ve read, if you try this the expired LL is like a ghost and you need to visit a blue umbrella to clear it.🤷‍♀️

For the MEPs you got for Carpets, have you noticed which rides they are/aren't good for?

Yes park entry is very important. If you let your LLMP selection expire and have not entered the park then your LLMP is stuck. You need Disney's help to release this Ghost LLMP selection or selections that you let expire.

If you are in the park and your LLMP expires you can replace it but you don't unlock Multi park selections for guests with a Hopper ticket or eliminate the Tier restrictions.

Note: the Expiration time includes the 1 hour window + 15-20 minute grace period.

Yes the grace period is still there and will allow you to tap in Green. If you miss the grace period it is up to the CM to allow you or deny you. Do you have a Dinning time that would make you late?

Tomorrow I plan to get an LLMP and an LLSP for the same park. I need 5 LLMPs but only 4 LLSPs. Can I do it all in one transaction? For instance, can I get the MPs first, then click on the SP after but only clicking on the 4 people who will go on it and pay all at once or should I do 2 separate transactions? I've asked this before, but more people have experienced the system now.

I did my selections Monday and did my MMLP separate (although I didn’t have but myself and one other person). I think in your case I’d do it separately.

@elvispursley is on the right track. You need to make 2 purchases. One the the day's LLMP and the other one for the 4 Guests wanting to use the LLSP.

The reason is the way the MDE app setup the steps. To do it in a single transaction you would need to purchase for all 5 members of your Group that were part of your initial selection in the purchase process.

We have been using LLMP today, and had one person in our party that could not make it to the park in the morning as they were sick. Planned to join us later in the day.

Our first pass was at 9am. When we tapped in, we were able to unlock tiers and park hopping for those people that were in the park and tapped in, but not for the other person.

This resulted in very messy LLMP reservations, as we couldn’t book for the whole group for later in the day (only the 5 who had tapped in to the first ride). This didn’t change when the first LL expired for the person not in the park. The expired LL could not be cleared, and couldn’t be modified. It just hung around with only one guest listed (as did the other morning reservations)

I visited a blue umbrella to see if there was any way they could unlock the tiers for the person that couldn’t join us until later, so that we could make bookings for them on later tier 1 rides or park hop. The answer was no.

I asked if it was possible for us to tap in for the party that wasn’t present - also a no.

However, I later visited a more sympathetic CM and they were happy to help and unlock the system so that we could include everyone in the afternoon LLMPs.

It seems it is dependent on who you speak to, but the intention definitely seems to be not to allow people to circumvent the requirement to tap in for any reason before being able to book other tier 1 rides or park hop.

Wow! 😲 What a mess your day turned into! Glad you found a helpful CM. Thanks for sharing your experience

Ohhh, very CM dependent. One of the bloggers* reported on this and had no issues with a CM unlocking the party member who wasn’t there since it was just 1 person.

What a stupid rule for one person in a party who couldn’t make the first thing of the day. There is no reason for CMs not to help. I can see them limiting it to 1 adult or 1 adult and 1 minor to prevent any sort of scaling but that’s about it.

ETA *it was an EarScouts YouTube video tried this

Was the second CM also from the Guest Experience Team (GET) in a dark blue shirt?
