Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

A bit of a scramble for me making my selections today. I had 9 days to book. 3 people booking in 3 accounts. The same credit card on all the accounts. I called the credit card (DIsney VISA) ahead of time and warned them 9-12 charges totaling $1500 in a small amount of time on Sunday morning. Cards got rejected from husbands account (he is a named person on the account) and son's account (he is not named on my credit card account) Furthermore, my husband entered a different credit card and it wouldn't take that either…
The other mistake was I booked TRON for all 4 of us instead of just 2 of us.
Disney’s payment system is so screwed up, I’ve been at a hotel had a Chase Visa card denied and a Cap1 Visa denied and then an Amex accepted. I called Chase and Cap1 and neither even saw Disney attempt to charge, accounts were fine with lots of credit available so it wasn’t a problem on my end or the issuers- they never even got the charge attempt from Disney. Other people have had the same thing happen and sometimes it’s Amex denied and Visa working 🙄 If I was booking this on cc I would go so far as to have a couple cards from different networks at the ready (Visa, Amex, MC) if I wasn’t doing gc.

Did you try to chat Disney about the accidental purchase of 2 Tron LLs? In the past they have been able to process refunds for ILLs so I think it is worth a shot, refunds and room requests are the only things I actually use them for.

I did not call about the TRON purchase. I might do that. Thanks

When this is done, which park price are you paying? MK or EPCOT?

Today I purchased GOG at Epcot and LLMP for DHS on the same day, same transaction. The system asked me which park I was going to first, then it gave me early GOG times and later DHS times. I verified on my receipt that I was charged the LLMP prince for DHS.

However, that receipt is not showing the price for GOG. I was only charged for LLMP at DHS. I have confirmed that the GOG LLSP are showing in MDE.

I have a question regarding book strategies for longer trips. We are staying 9 nights in October on property. We can book starting 7 days prior to arrival but I am not sure we can get all days booked in 5 minutes or less. We’ll know exactly which rides and approximate times we’ll want so we won’t be dilly dallying.

Is it best to break the booking sessions into chunks of 4 or 5 days? Or smaller? Can I work on chunk #1 in my account and simultaneously can my husband work on chunk #2 in his account?

Thanks!

On CC's and debit cards as a general comment there can be a daily max charged to any one card depending on the type of card or account. I'm not saying this is something that will today happen as often but it can be another possibility why a card could get denied. That is in part an older way of detecting fraud.

When you call in to your CC company you may also discuss if there is a daily max amount that can be charged and increase it if necessary on a temporary basis. This used to be much more common (especially back when things cost a lot at once think t.v's for instance) but could still be at play these days.

You can only do one day at a time. Each day needs to be completed within 5 minutes. You can book LLSP & LLMP at the same time for the same day, even if they are in different parks.

People have reported yes you can work in different accounts. I had a problem with credit cards being declined and could only book in one.

I'd appreciate it if you can describe how to do this. Is it just using Genie? Really, I have no idea how to accomplish this and it would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!
It is similar to Genie+ but not exactly the same. So here goes start at the Main menu. You get there by using the Icon on the bottom right of the MDE screen (3 horizontal lines aka the internet standard term is the Hamburger Icon). Scroll down slightly until you see Today's Plans link. The next screen will have 2 Tabs: Tip Board and My Day. The First section right below them is the Recommendation Section. By default it will show Start Here to Plan your Day. Press the Get Started Button.

You will see the Calendar screen, Pick your Day, then Pick your Park, and then you will see the list of attractions "My Top Picks" for that park. Pick your top 2 or 3 and then hit the Continue button on the bottom of the screen and then just hit Continue on the remaining screens in the customization.,

Now when you are on your Lightning Lane screen and you select a LL to Modify, on the Modify screen your top picks will show before the Alphabetical list of attractions. The Thumbnail picture for your Top Picks will have a "Star" in the upper right corner

It is my understanding the only way to pay for EP and get MK rides is to have at least one selection at EP, go there, tap in and then change your other selections to MK.
Agreed. That makes sense. But the question was about booking 3 rides at MK, but going to EP first (without LLMP). From what I've been reading, we pay the price for the park we make the first 3 selections, not the park we enter first.

I found it fairly easy to use until my 5 year old granddaughter came down and proceeded break my concentration.

I think I corrected the screw ups I made. I had forgotten to select the 3 other members of my party for a couple of days as I was doing the LLMP and trying to stop her from doing various 5 year old helping themselves things in the kitchen.

Once I realized my screw up on a couple of days I had trouble figuring out how to make the corrections.

The other mistake was I booked TRON for all 4 of us instead of just 2 of us. Not sure what to do about that. It would be nice if husband and I could just hand over our bands to the boys to ride again but I think that's a no-no, so I guess I'll ride it.
You should be able to let your boys use your magic bands for a second ride. No one is checking IDs at the LL entrance.

I had tried making a separate post about this but got no responses. Trying to figure out the best order for my parks to maximize the fast pass options. We are staying 6 nights and have a 4 day pass. Would this be the best way to do things or should I change them up?

November 11 - arrive no park
November 12 - animal kingdom
November 13 - Epcot
November 14 - changing hotels magic kingdom
November 15 - Magic kingdom
November 16 - no park
November 17 - go home no park

Our hotel at the end is closest to magic kingdom which was why I have both days there for convenience of transportation. The 16th is my baby’s first birthday so we are doing a late morning character breakfast with family so I wasn’t sure if a park day at magic kingdom would make sense that day but I could shift the parks down if it does.

Don't worry about swapping MBs with your children. Yes there is a rule about that but it is more focused on someone using this process and reselling a (preloaded MB).

We have asked multiple times and the CMs had no issue with our small group reuse of LL since we paid for them.

You can also see these prices in MDE Just go to purchase LL, and on the calendar pick the day you want to see You can see the LLSP prices in MDE
Perfect, thanks. Yes, I've seen people referring to Thrill Data but this link is very helpful...thank you!

They have not stayed the same, they are dynamic like G+. They are being priced very similar to G+ for now. For planning purposes if you aren’t going soon you are probably better off looking at G+ prices for your dates last year.
Yes, I knew they were dynamic, but hadn't seen any info. Thanks for the reply and suggestion on G+, our trip is for late September.

I think that is the best order. The later you do MK the better.

For others playing along...

That is the automatic Fraud detection system(s) working as designed. Especially when you have multiple people (sources) hitting a single CC at the same time for many small or even large charges. The recommendation is to use different MDE accounts (you were) and to use different "preloaded" CC in MDE for each account if you are all trying at same time.

Note: Even if you call if the Rep does not update your account the automated system will still stop suspicious activity. Not surprisingly some phone reps don't fully understand what triggers the Fraud system(s).

I am mostly confused about why it wouldn't take his other credit card. And why my son's account wouldn't take my other credit - -3 different non-related accounts.

In most cases you pay the price for the first park you enter. In your case you will pay for MK since that is the Park you are making your LLMP selections.

Dave
"In most cases you pay the price for the first park you enter."

I think, although likely true for most people, this phrasing may be a little confusing? You pay for the park you want to make your advance LLMP selections for, regardless of whether that is the first (or second or fourth) park you visit that day.

For example, on our first day in a few weeks I plan to purchase and select LLMPs for HS for the afternoon, BUT rope drop MK. So we pay the LLMP for HS.

I see someone mentioned the app does ask which park you plan to visit first, but I assume that is more for suggesting times.

Has anyone had luck bumping their multipass lightening lanes to earlier in the day? As predicted, the latter half of our trip is fine but our first two days (HS and Epcot) we were only able to get rides after noon which makes it tough to schedule our mornings. I had this grand plan of getting our tier twos on alien saucers and Toy Story mania in the AM and then having different rides booked for the afternoon. Since this doesn’t seem to be a sound strategy with this new system, any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
