Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I am mostly confused about why it wouldn't take his other credit card. And why my son's account wouldn't take my other credit - -3 different non-related accounts.
Was he entering his alternate card in MDE in the middle of the 7 AM rush?

It is always a good idea to have the CC already on the account before the 7 AM window. Even though you enter it on the MDE app it still needs to be communicated the CC information ( # and Expiration Code) to the Disney back-end system. This is not best done at the 7 AM peak rush.

For your son: was this the same card that you were using on your MDE account? And again was it setup in advance of 7 AM on purchase day?

These issues have nothing to do with Multiple MDE accounts but the CC handling method.

It is similar to Genie+ but not exactly the same. So here goes start at the Main menu. You get there by using the Icon on the bottom right of the MDE screen (3 horizontal lines aka the internet standard term is the Hamburger Icon). Scroll down slightly until you see Today's Plans link. The next screen will have 2 Tabs: Tip Board and My Day. The First section right below them is the Recommendation Section. By default it will show Start Here to Plan your Day. Press the Get Started Button.

You will see the Calendar screen, Pick your Day, then Pick your Park, and then you will see the list of attractions "My Top Picks" for that park. Pick your top 2 or 3 and then hit the Continue button on the bottom of the screen and then just hit Continue on the remaining screens in the customization.,

Now when you are on your Lightning Lane screen and you select a LL to Modify, on the Modify screen your top picks will show before the Alphabetical list of attractions. The Thumbnail picture for your Top Picks will have a "Star" in the upper right corner

Thank you x 10 million, @Dave006!

I just tried this even though my trip's not until September 9th and it let me pick things, although I noticed that My Day is now cluttered with a lot of things I didn't choose at all. I'm hoping that goes away.

Has anyone had luck bumping their multipass lightening lanes to earlier in the day?
Yes but modifying times is always subject to availability. When you are booking 7 days in advance the availability does not change unless someone cancels. You can always check for "day of" availability that may be added before 7 AM.

I had this grand plan of getting our tier twos on alien saucers and Toy Story mania in the AM and then having different rides booked for the afternoon. Since this doesn’t seem to be a sound strategy with this new system, any suggestions?
The system always starts with Park Open time when offering your attraction return times and roll throughout the day. So it is somewhat of a dice roll to balance your initial Tier 1 vs Tier 2 for your initial days.

Many of the things on "My Day" will go away automatically. Other Sections will have 3 dots .. in the top right corner of the Section. Just Click on the 3 dots ... and Remove the random Sections from your "My Day" tab.

ETA: Still learning to spell and type...

That is where I blame Disney IT. But you can confirm that by calling the issuer of the card and asking if they saw an attempted charge and if so why it was declined. (If the issuers saw no attempt the issue is Disney’s and there is no fix, they have long been in denial about their payment issues.)

I did not call about the TRON purchase. I might do that. Thanks
If you’re not successful, you can definitely pass your bands to someone else for use, as long as the person who owns the band in question has tapped into the park. I do this with Rise all the time. I’m not a particular fan of being disappointed by non-working items, so DS and I will book ourselves when with a larger party and then hand others our bands for a re-ride.

Agreed. That makes sense. But the question was about booking 3 rides at MK, but going to EP first (without LLMP). From what I've been reading, we pay the price for the park we make the first 3 selections, not the park we enter first.
Correct, sorry if my answer was confusing. I agree with you.

Looks like you have identified the problem. Thanks! So, I'll hit you up with anything situation then -- do you think I can leave the CC in my son's account for purchasing the occasional meals or snacks? It's very unlikely we'd be trying to process simultaneously.

LOL! I wish I could turn that Open AI crap off.

This may be one of those things where the current split stay overlap is not the way the it was intended to be set up and the programming will be changed at some point soon. That could explain why CMs are saying split stays have different booking windows. Given their treatment of split stays for dining, I wouldn't be surprised if we see this change in an update in the coming weeks/months. I mean, we all remember how crazy G+ stacking was for the first couple weeks!
Actually, they already had put in place the way split stays work. Though they may change it later on down the road they know people do this quite often and as long as there's no break in the split stay, you're allowed to book 7 days prior to your 1st onsite stay straight through. This also takes care of people trying to book one night stays yet trying to book their entire trip with max pass.

It should work without any issues for Mobile orders that are not being charged to a MB that is linked to your resort folio. For other Point of Sale (POS) purchases he would need it in his Smartphone wallet for transactions outside of MDE.

So even if you haven’t entered a park that day you can make changes that abide by tie

@HyperspaceMountainPilot I did not read it that way since the post from @DLRExpert did not seem to relate to the post they were quoting. Maybe @DLRExpert will stop back by and expand on their post in more detail.

I was helping some friends from California. I posted at 429am (729am in FL). They were not in the park at that time. So it may be due to it being 7am.

I’ve been reading along the whole thread but I’m completely overwhelmed.

What’s the best strategy for a family of 4 with one little kid who won’t ride the LLSP rides? Do I pay for her anyway or can I buy just for the 3 of us and do rider swap with her? Does she have to have a LLSP to enter the line with us even if she won’t/can’t ride?

Just to clarify you were able to modify their LLMP selections to reduce return windows to be shorter than 1 hour but it was after 7 AM on their actual Park day?

If you want your other child to be guaranteed to ride twice, then buy a LLSP for all four. If for some reason you don't use the 4th LLSP, go to Guest Relations and ask for a refund. The other day my daughter wasn't feeling well, so she didn't want to ride Guardians, she went to Guest Relations and they refunded her money.

Experience at the MK on 8/3. Was originally going to be 8/4, but due to the upcoming storm we switched it to the day before, which meant I had less than a day to reschedule the LL bookings to the new date.

Staying at a Disney Resort, 5 guests.

Tron SPLL was switched to a 7pm return, but I was able to get that down to a 130pm return before the visiting day. It was not hard to modify.
Mine Train SPLL was switched to a 8pm return, but on the day of the visit at around 11am I was able to get that down to a 130pm return time. This was not easy to modify, so some luck was involved.

First 3 MPLLs booked...
Jungle Cruise originally 1130am return. I was able to get that down to 930am on the day of the visit, but before park opening.
Pirates of the Caribbean originally a 930am return. I was able to get that down to 905am on the day of the visit, but before park opening.
Magic Carpets 10am return time.

Tiana VQ at 7am was able to get Group 3.

750am: Arrived at the park entrance, left BC at 720am. Park opening at 9am.
830am-840am: First attraction during Early Entry was Pooh no LL
840am-855am: Small World no LL
855am-920am: Haunted Mansion
920am-940am: Tiana VQ 10 minute wait
940am-10am: Big Thunder Mountain no LL
10am-1020am: Pirates of the Caribbean LL. Then booked LL for Space Mountain at 2pm
1020am-1040am: Jungle Cruise LL. Then booked LL for Barnstormer
1040am-11am: Magic Carpets LL. Booked LL for Dumbo
11am-1215pm: Barnstormer LL, Then booked LL for Mermaid, Dumbo LL, Then booked LL for Tomorrowland Speedway, Mermaid LL, Booked LL for Buzz, Speedway LL. Booked LL for Thunder Mountain.
1215pm: LUNCH
1pm-2pm: Booked VQ for Tron, Monster Inc show and Peoplemover. Kept modifying Buzz LL for later
2pm-330pm: Space Mountain LL, booked Tea Cup LL, Tron SPLL, Mine Train SPLL (they were okay with being a little late on the scan in)
330pm-4pm: Tea Cup LL, attempting to find a Tiana LL, Buzz LL, booked LL for Big Thunder LL again because it was down (got an MEP).
445pm: Got a Tiana LL for a 515pm return. VQ return for Tron was at 5pm (20 minute wait).
Thunder was down alot in the evening so was able to use their MEPs to ride Space Mountain again with LL.
Final attraction count was 24.

Takeaways:

- EASY to find earlier return times for the MPLLs.
- LOVE the always hold 3 MPLLs at one time. At some point I was just looking to fish for MEPs.
- Use Thrill-Data for those hard to get MPLLs like Tiana.
- The Tip Board needs to bring back the pinned attraction feature.
- I could not modify SPLLs with the same account on two different devices at the same time.

It is there but now displayed on your Modify Screen when you are searching. You Set up your favorites on your My Day tab. You can have entries from multiple parks.

So much info trying to take in here!! lol not sure if I missed it or it’s posted somewhere else but has there been any confirmation on it f you have a split stay? Are you able book all your park days if the passes are linked to the first hotel?

Case in point: we are staying Boardwalk (DVC) for 5 nights and Polynesian Island towers for 3 nights. I’m buying 6 day tickets and linking to boardwalk reservation

So far it looks like the system does not care about split stays vs ticket length (number of days). Only 2 reports of issues with specific days in the lenght of stay. They both looked like an IT issue and IT was able to resolve the specific issues.

Dave

Is this possible-my husband and I both book LLMP. We both pick Jungle Cruise. He goes on, and I don't. Can he then, take my phone, and go on again?
