Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

When do we purchase this if we are staying at a resort? 7 days out?
yes it says "Guests of Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can purchase passes up to 7 days in advance of their stay—and other Guests can purchase passes up to 3 days in advance of their park visit."

Thank goodness for this ! so tired of doing this day by day on my vacation.... too bad it won't be out in time for our trip next week!😢

I’m sure the prices will be about the same.

I’m bummed there’s no multipark pass, but still an improvement. And thankfully a lot less time on my phone on vacation.

Aren't what used to be tiered now the individual that you have to pay extra for?
No, the single paid for rides are still a thing, called Single Pass now.

Multi pass has 2 tiers now, so many rides are under Tier 1 and you can only book 1 of those under multi pass during pre book, day of its free for all on those.

No. Of your three advance selections for Multi-Pass, you will get to make one reservation from Tier One and two reservations from Tier Two...but only at MK, Ep, and HS. The Single Pass will be for the highest priority attractions (like Tron, RotR, etc), and that will remain separate. No details on which attractions will be in which tiers yet though.

Yes and no. All of the ILL attractions that were around in the FP+ era were Tier 1, but there are some old Tier 1s that were included in G+. Slinky Dog and Navi being notable ones off the top of my head. MK didn’t have tiers at all back then though.

The old CL paid FP+ pilot program let you ignore the tiers though and they were stackable with the normal free ones—I have an old itinerary saved from our doomed May 2020 Poly CL stay where we had both Pandora rides and all 3 of the then- Epcot Tier 1s booked in the same day.

So it's like the fastpass system but we pay? Of course, we will pay for it but it's still frustrating when I am paying for 13 nights Disney accommodation, which is expensive enough. At least on site guests have priority 😁

It is too early to tell. But really, using DHS as the example, there always was some de facto "tiering" if you tried to stack.

Obviously crowd size and the number of people who purchase the service will always affect availablity. But, if I attempted to stack at DHS, by the time I got to the third selection, availability for the "tier 1" attractions was pretty limited.

For example, if you made Slinky as your first choice at 7 AM and the park opened at 8:30, your second and third choices would be at 10:30 and 12:30. By 12:30 on a busy day availability for RNRC, MMRR, and MFSR might be gone or very late in the day.

Because we almost always go to a park at opening, our approach to this will likely be to make our 3 LL picks 7 days in advance and then target favorite attractions for park opening (including early entry). At DHS we have had good luck going TOT and RNRC first thing and if lucky might get to MMRR before the line is too long.

I will like not having to do the 7 AM login (some times done on a bus on the way to early entry) just to find out what time we can get for Slinky and ROTR. Knowing the times in advance we can then plan out what to do when the park opens.
I was at HS a few weeks ago and my evening stack was Slinky, ToT, Toy Story Mania and Runaway Railway (would've done RNRC if it wasn't closed). I do agree that for higher crowd times, a stack would be very difficult. I also struggle to spend more than a few hours at HS as it's still a half day park at most for me so I enjoyed having a stack going in.

The thing I like most about this is that I'll be able to book stuff for my arrival day the week before (staying onsite) as opposed to from the airplane/airport the morning of. I'm not a huge fan of what rides they put in Tier 1 everywhere, but I suspect we'll only be using the service on our arrival day so I'll get over that.

So if I got this right, once you scan at least 1 of your 3 LLs, you can book another LL at any tier right away.

So the early strategy is to have at least one LL early, so you can start booking for a higher tier LL sooner.

thrill-data became much more valuable.

Enjoy photo perks. Receive digital downloads of select attraction photos and videos from your day, captured with Disney PhotoPass Service. Plus, access Disney PhotoPass Lenses. Disney PhotoPass Terms and Conditions
ETA: Not sure if that means full access to the photographers, or just the ride photos.
Just RIDE photos and the videos that some of them have AND use of the PhotoPass Lenses that you can do selfies with different filters. No photos by photographers.

Since Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror are in the lower tier, you could have three of those four as your pre-booked rides.
