Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Yep that sounds right to me. You just have to get your VQ the day of.
That's not too bad at all, IMO.

I liked stacking and it worked out really well the last trip but this could work out well. The only park it may not work as well in is DHS but that place is unique....

So it's like the fastpass system but we pay? Of course, we will pay for it but it's still frustrating when I am paying for 13 nights Disney accommodation, which is expensive enough. At least on site guests have priority 😁
You paid for FP+ too. Disney just forced you to pay for it every day whether you wanted to or not.

Now you can opt out of paying certain days or the entire trip if you want.

Note to self....don't mention this to my sister. Having this service in play during our March trip would've made our HS day much more enjoyable for everyone.

I guess I'll be one of the guinea pigs...we arrive Aug 11 for 9 nights. I didn't really have a plan for the last 2 days of the trip figuring we'd just do whatever we felt like in the moment, but those two days are probably now the easiest to plan. I guess I should make sure one is DHS for Slinky and one is MK for Tiana

So if I got this right, once you scan at least 1 of your 3 LLs, you can book another LL at any tier right away.
Not sure if I scan a 2nd of the 3 LL will I be able to book another one?

So the early strategy is to have at least one LL early, so you can start booking for a higher tier LL sooner.

thrill-data became much more valuable.
I think that's right, except I'm curious if the system will require you to have used your tier 1 specifically before booking another tier 1 or if the tiers are irrelevant after that first two in opens up day of bookings.

If the availability is there, could you just keep picking up 1s after each tap or is it going to be you can only hold one tier 1 at a time?

Edit: It definitely says pick ups can be from either group after the first. So, strategy would theoretically be to pick your first two as early as possible so that you'll be open to day of tier 1s ASAP.

Yeah, I’m really going to be paying close attention to how the optimal strategies for HS shake out. I’m pretty much back to the drawing board for our half day there on our upcoming trip, as I planned to stack for our sole evening there in Sept.

I don't remember ever paying for fastpasses. I remember being at my computer at 4.55am (UK time) with a list of 3 fastpasses per day to book for first 10 days (if I remember rightly).

At ropedrop I wonder if we'll see lots of people quickly tapping into teacups en route to 7dmr so they are eligible to book another tier one ride (at any park mind you)?
It's going to get complicated fast. Do you use valuable rope drop time and burn your two prebook tier 2s to hope for good day of 1s? Or do you balance the strategy a little so that you both get good value from RD/tier2 prebooks but then you can also start picking up earlier in the day.

I think that was only for CL guests if I remember correctly. I could totally see that eventually being brought back.
It was for CL guests or those staying in DVC grand villas, the CCV cabins, or the PVB bungalows. Totally worth it and I would love to have that back. I would also add Tables in Wonderland to my wish list.

Having that thrill data available will be very helpful in determining what we'll have to plan to potentially ride standby vs picking up as a secondary Tier 1.

I'm very excited to see how this all plays out. I'm sure there will be some initial bumps in the road, along with some permanent pros and cons. But I do think that it will increase guest satisfaction overall, even if it's just for the simple fact that people won't have to wake up for the 7am scramble and the uncertainty that comes along with it. We shall see!!

You "paid" indirectly, as part of the price of your park ticket and/or hotel room cost.

Of course, it will still be part of the premium they'll charge for onsite hotel rooms, even if you choose not to buy it for any of the days you stay there.

We arrive July 25 this is adding a level of stress for me. I’m sure they are doing it because of people like me who prefer to see crowds before deciding if I’m buying it. Now I just may buy it except maybe Epcot? I might not need park hoppers now. I’m so confused.
