Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Could you clarify what you mean by reservation?

As a default answer you can have up to 3 selections per person for a single park with LLMP and up to 2 LLSP selections per day per person.

If you have a park reservation for a day then you can only pre-purchase LLMP options for that park. After you use your initial LLMP selection or the time expires then you can make another LLMP reservation in any park without restriction to Tiers (Groups).

Dave
Where did you see that those with park reservations can only pre-purchase LLMP options for that park? I don't see it on the Disneyworld website and Rob from Ear Scouts says:
  • Pre-booked attractions must all be in the same park, but it does not need to be the park where you will start your day. If you have a ticket that requires park pass reservations (like an Annual Pass), you do not need to pre-book in the park where your park pass is – it can be for another park as long as you are able to park hop.
I am not saying Rob is right, but it is at least a contrary view. The bloggers supposedly have been given briefings that include information not on the Disneyworld website. I'd like to see something official, at least until we get people reporting back on their personal experiences.

From my understanding, all 3 must be made in the starting park. There is still speculation (no solid answers) on whether you can simply modify your 2nd and 3rd picks after you scan in for your first. We still don't know if you have to stay in the park or whether you can modify the tier 2s to tier 1 after scanning into the first ride. This is a question we'll hope to find out the answer to tomorrow. There are folks in the park this week hoping to share their intel. Stay tuned!
The three pre-booked LL reservations must be in the same park. However, I don't think it has to be in your starting park. If you wanted to book them for your hop-to park, I believe you can. That may prevent you from tapping into your first LL reservations early and then booking more Tier 1s, but I believe it is an option. Questionable strategy perhaps, but Disney does not mandate LL users use sound strategy.

I'm not sure I will even use it, but I have never needed G+ at AK when going in the morning. I was an avid stacker of late afternoon G+ at DHS. So, I have hopper tickets that require a park reservation. I would go to AK in the AM, ride what I wanted, hop to DHS where hopefully I had 3 rides reserved. Questionable to some, would work for me as a solo traveler. I see plenty of people doing things on here I think are dumb, but gee I don't feel the need to tell them!

Good point. I forgot about that. Yes, I think they just all need to be in the same park. You can't split the 3 during the reservation process, but could reserve all 3 for your 2nd park. Thanks for pointing that out!

Neither of those work for me. USA Today is behind a pay wall and the second link says internal server error

Sorry, but I was referring specifically to the LLMP strategy of tapping into your first ride early in order to book more Tier 1 LLs before they run out. Genie+ worked differently. Also, I will admit that there will be days when those who tap into their first LL early will not get the benefit of then being able to choose their pick of Tier 1 rides. And, of course, there will be those who don't even get to their first park early enough to take advantage of the tap in early strategy.

I was trying to be amusing, not insulting.

Yes the first step after selecting the LL tile in the MDE app is to "Select a date and theme park". The hack is not confirmed that you may basically "ignore" your Park Reservation. You need a valid Park reservation to make your ticket entitlement valid for theme park admission before you are able to make any LLMP selections for pre-purchase.

This is all Disney provides: Just remember, everyone in your party must have valid theme park admission. Park reservations may also be required, depending on the type of admission and the date of your visit. That restriction includes non-dated and APs.

As far as changes after Purchase but before you tap in to your first LLMP Attraction:

To get started, tap the Lightning Lane Passes section on the app’s home screen to find your plans. Then, you can:
  • Change your selected park and/or date in advance (subject to availability)—up until the moment you redeem your first Lightning Lane selection of the day.
  • Change each selected experience and/or arrival window in advance (subject to availability)—up until the start of the arrival window
What you might be able to do is make a park reservation for Park 1. Purchase your LLMP for that Park 1 and then change your Park reservation to Park 2 and then enter Park 2 first with no LLMPs. I just don't see the logic here unless your Park 1 does not benefit from the use of LLMP.

You're calling it a "hack" while Rob is saying that Disney hasn't required the park reservation and LLMP purchase to be in the same park in the first place. Regardless, we will perhaps see how it works soon enough. Perhaps someone with an AP and a park reservation will try to buy LLMP for another park and report how that goes.

I just went on to the app and did “Purchase Genie” to see todays prices and got this (PS I’m def in the U.S., so i hope this is not an issue tomorrow lol)

Android or Apple and do you have the latest version of MDE and do you have location service enabled for MDE?

Apple, yes and yes. I even deleted the app and reinstalled to make sure. It’s probably just because it’s not launched yet; but they are gearing up! I’ll be on there bright and early tomorrow hoping for the best
EDITED TO ADD: I no longer have the option to click purchase genie, it just disappeared
