Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Tiana’s has been down all morning. We’re supposed to ride at 10:50. Hopefully it opens again.
Yes, it's been the worst day we've ever experienced at Magic Kingdom. Rope Drop was a complete bust with both 7DMT and Space Mtn broken at opening, leaving people wandering aimlessly and turning Pooh into a 45 minute wait. A ton of stuff is currently closed, including almost anything that is outdoors, I think b/c of a storm warning. I have no idea if we'll be able to ride our LL for Jungle, Tiana, or BTMR. On the plus side, we got group 5 boarding group for Tron, so at least we got to do that. 🤷‍♀️

Earscouts made a good point on his video that your time spent on phone could dramatically increase with this system (if you’re someone who wants to get better times/more LL’s). Whereas with G+ you could be refreshing for just 1 LL, with LLMP, you can technically play the refresh game for 3 different selections.

I was looking at the thrill data stuff for future lightning lane passes, and I hope I'm reading this wrong and someone who is currently booking for next week can clarify what they are seeing. I was looking at Pirates for 8/6 (8 days from now) and is the earliest return time really after noon already when you book at 7am? That seems crazy to meView attachment 881073
This was what I saw for today, but once we were in the parks additional availability seemed to pop up. Still not nearly as much as before, though. They're definitely holding back how much they're offering compared to G+.

That's an effect of the new system - not a goal. And if you really want to you can stack 3 of them in the evening. You're getting a 3 stack right from the start without having to do it every two hours. It's a simple rolling three - the main issue they're addressing is not being able to book in advance - I don't get this obsession with "stacking". I doubt outside of the people who follow Disney boards that people were stacking more than than what they can still accomplish here.
I think with Genie+, it really depended on the goals of the person setting up the booking. We are AP (this year only) and DVC and my family generally likes to sleep in, visit the pool, and relax in the morning and hit the parks in the evening with bonus for the parks that at EEH. We didn't typically use Genie, but the days we did, we typically focused on HS or MK, with the goal of booking 5 rides that evening all after 5 pm. We would maybe adding one or two more once we started using them that evening. We are a small subset of Genie users, but I would guess more likely to also be on boards like this one.

It is impossible to do that type of 'stacking' with the new system. So we will try it out a different way during our trip next week. We are never going to be a rope drop family especially coming from central time(I've tried and it makes for an unhappy day), but a casual 9:30 -10:30 am start should be okay. This is about when peak standby wait times usually begin so I booked HS, MK, and AK each one day with the goal of doing a few rides in the mid-morning and booking a different park and rides in the evening. We plan on resting at the hotel and enjoying beach club pool in the afternoon during the peak heat. I also tried to match the park with a few of the DVC welcome home free ice cream days. But that's a truly unique situation.

My guess is the new system will work better for one time visitors who plan on being at the park all day long and can enjoy time shopping or grabbing snacks instead of waiting in lines. Which honestly is who Disney should be trying to please. It reminds me more of the max pass that was available in Disneyland when I went in 2017. As a one time visitor to that park, it worked really well for us.

I don't know if this has been asked somewhere already, but does anyone know if you can split payment between a GC and a CC on the checkout screen?

I hate that you had such an awful start to your day! I started today in Frontierland (didn’t rope drop- got in around 9:10) and felt like I did so much before noon. Granted, I only stayed on the left side of the park so I wasn’t part of the mess in Tomorrowland/Fantasyland.

Like you, I basically purchased LLMP to ride Tiana, so I wanted to make sure I was close by in case I opened. Grateful and lucky it did by 11.

We rope dropped barnstormer and the line grew so fast. I couldn’t believe it until I found out 7DMT wasn’t running

Has anyone seen any reports/data on what happens to your LLMP & SP bookings when you upgrade to an AP before or during your trip? 🤷‍♀️

I realize this would have more effect on guests staying offsite.

It's people who think like you who have It's Tough to be a Bug's return time pushed back to 8:40 (instead of 8:00) even when booking at 7:00.
Thats why you book Bug days in advance. 845am is still good. I would probably arrive at the park at 830am and scan in at 835am. If I arrive at the park earlier Standby Everest or Dinosaur first.

Also, just for FYI, it IS possible to hold two LLMP that are completely overlapping the exact same time period. I have JC and BTMR for identical return times today.
Its possible since you are already doing it. Don't worry if you are a bit late to one of them. They are being lenient on the return times.

As in does it impact whether or not you have a valid ticket for the date you'd like to book?

So our Tiana reservation that started at 4pm just disappeared. No anytime fast pass. It's currently closed. All I can see is that it's allowing me to choose from the available offered fp experiences to replace it. 🙃 NOT a good solution. Was able to grab an 8:30 Space Mtn, but everyone is super bummed. Usually they gave you a "free" pass good for any Tier X attraction at any time. Not just from the dregs of what is left in the system.

I'll be curious to see if people with MNSSHP-only tickets for any given date will be able to book LLSP for Tron or 7DMT during the 4-6 pm window. I know what has been published, but I'd like to see if it plays out that way in real time.

I usually do 3 day weekend trips sprinkled throughout the year. We were big fans of Rope dropping AK, while stacking LLs at HS in the evening. We would hit AK for like 3-4 hours head to the hotel and hit the pool/nap and head to HS for around 5 and hit about 6 rides in the evening.

Well, sort of. I was thinking about it in terms of eligibility changing because of no longer having a date based ticket or a park reservation or… when you already have your LLMP/SPs booked.

As an AP holder, I can tell you that right now it's showing that I can only book for 3 days out right now. Now in a few days when my arrival date hits the pricing calendar, it'll probably update to show my 7 days out.
