Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Our trip starts in 10 days (onsite), so I guess we are booking LLs in 3. I can't resist refreshing to see availability / wait times today, even though today is obviously not necessarily representative of future days.

Tiana just came back up with immediate availability, then it disappeared again..... MK currently has 10 rides with no LLMPs available. Millennium Falcon and MMRR both have almost exactly the same availability times that they did 2 hours ago, and that doesn't seem to be changing; meanwhile four Tier 2 LLMPs are out?

Can't help but think that I will be happier on the days when we DON'T have LLMP, because on our days with LLMP at MK and HS, I will be doing a lot of looking at my phone and refreshing.

Has anyone seen any reports about either of these scenarios?

(1) You have a date based park hopper ticket and do not require a park reservation. Can you make advance lightning lane selections in Magic Kingdom but scan in to Hollywood Studios in the morning before hopping to Magic Kingdom?

(2) You have non-date based park hopper tickets or an annual pass and you do require a park reservation. Can you have a park reservation in Hollywood Studios but make advance lightning lane selections in Magic Kingdom?

I can't confirm #1, but it seems likely you can do this as I was able to confirm #2 - I made a reservation for MK with a legacy non date based ticket and was able to book HS.

2pm and we have zero Tier 1 availability at MK, and many of the Tier 2s are also unavailable.

Also both LLSP are unavailable at MK.

I'm really hoping this is not going to be the how things are in the future.
This is awful! pay more and get less. basically paying for 1 decent ride. Ticket prices are ridiculously high, then add this onto it? Terrible.

It didn't answer the original question regarding modifying the 2 existing LL's
I guess it depends how you read it, but I thought it was implied they answered in the affirmative about the 2 existing selections by saying, "You'll be happy to know..." Otherwise, I feel they would have replied negatively and made a distinction between the used selection and the remaining two. Hopefully, we'll get some real reports back soon!

Some initial thoughts. Our trip starts tomorrow:

1. My trip is 4 days, starting tomorrow, I saw significantly more availability for DHS 4 days from now than MK 2 days from now. I believe the 7 day window will give onsite guests a good advantage, but I still was able to get everything for MK 2 days from now, so I don't think that advantage is a good reason to switch from offsite to onsite.

2. I was able to get overlapping times by modifying, even though the times it originally proposed did not overlap.

3. It seems to look for availability for LLIP first, so if you don't want that first, move it later and that will open times to move the LLMP earlier.

4. I think this is better than getting up at 7am everyday during vacation.

5. Cost, yeah, it adds up. MK day for 4 was $232 on top of the ticket prices for a family of 4. We bought LLMP for 3 out of 4 days because we only had one evening, two full days and 1 half-day. Those that have full days at each park can probably use other strategies and save hundreds.
5 - do you mind saying how much the Multi pass was for your MK day? This sounds like it was $50/day per person which is crazy. We might need to rethink our plans for August

That's awesome! At least I will still be able to rope drop one park and schedule my lightning lanes for my second park. Thanks for your reply!

For people there today, has there been luck grabbing return times for rides that had sold out earlier in the day...like Slinky or somee of the other high demand rides? I was hoping it would be similar to FP+ where refreshing could get you FPs that would pop up.

I’ve been looking here and there for BTMRR and haven’t seen any times pop up

From what I've been seeing today, I wouldn't invest in LLMP. Rides not currently offered: BTMRR, Buzz, Haunted Mansion, JC, Pooh, PoTC, Space Mountain, TBA, & Tomorrowland Speedway, Alien Swirling Saucers, RnRC, SDD, TSM, ToT, FEA, Mission Space, Remy's, Spaceship Earth, Kali Rapids, Navi.

Given that it’s almost 4:00 now, I’m hoping that folks already got extras earlier today. Looks like a poor selection for the evening, of course.

TSM, TOT, and FEA now have LLs.

ETA: Some now gone. Drops or cancellations? Not sure at this time, but it will be interesting to see the Thrill-Data info.

I heard on all ears that you have to have scanned into the park
Ooh, thanks....here's what AllEars wrote:

4. YOU NEED TO SCAN INTO THE PARK TO BOOK ANOTHER SELECTION

Alright, this one is kind of a big one. One of our reporters had not scanned into a park yet, let one of their Lightning Lane Multi Passes expire without using it. Even after the selection expired, they were not able to make another selection. They are now holding only two Multi Pass selections yet are unable to make an additional selection. However, we believe this is because they haven’t scanned into the park yet.

Even though one expired, we weren’t able to book another selection.

Another one of our reporters who had scanned into a park was able to make an additional selection once their previous Lightning Lane Multi Passes had expired. So, they had three expired Lightning Lane Multi Passes and were able to make additional selections.

What we are seeing so far is that once you scan into the park you will be able to reselect a Lightning Lane Multi Pass once a selection has expired, however you won’t be able to make another selection if you have not scanned into the park.
