Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

This is awful! pay more and get less. basically paying for 1 decent ride. Ticket prices are ridiculously high, then add this onto it? Terrible.
Not correct - you are not limited by tiers for any rides you book day of once you starting using your pre-booked ones. (And if you start yelling "availability" - you often found the most popular rides were gone by mid-day under the prior system). Only real change from the old system is allowing pre-booking so you don't have to wake up at 7am to do it every day.

Yes, I don’t think at this point there’s much evidence that they are releasing more lightning lane availability throughout the day.
I don't know about "releasing" but as a test I just went onto the tip board to refresh for 5 minutes and found that at least several MK attractions that had listed no availability had availability pop up during some refreshes so whether or not you want to call it "releasing" - the inventory will fluctuate and it is possible to get some that are currently listed as not available with the same tricks as before.

Correct booking additional experiences that you don't plan to actually use in Epcot just causes churn in the app for no benefit to you. Starting your day in Epcot, using 1 experience and then hopping to MK would only save you a few dollars. What is your time worth? Why not just book your initial selections for the time you want to use them in MK?

What type of ticket would you be using for visit as it makes a difference?

Dave
It may cause unnecessary churn but gets to the other arguments that were put forward about modifying instead of leaving the slots unused.

I don't care about saving a few dollars - all about my time. I might prefer to reduce my wait on a Tier 1 EPCOT ride and then book 3 MK rides. If I think the MK availability at that point is going to be poor (especially given preliminary feedback from day 1 - although it is only one data point), then I might take my chances waiting on line at EPCOT and instead book three MK rides 7 days in advance. Just trying to think through the different scenarios.

I would be using a park hopper ticket for the day with plans to start at EPCOT and finish at MK prior to eventually staying around for Halloween party that evening - not going until mid-September so I will have the ability to learn a lot from others over the next 6 weeks. I will be staying at Disney resort (DVC - VGF).

There’s probably no easy way to prove it, but I’ve always felt that Disney takes good care of their paying customers by dropping additional availability to the headliners throughout the day. It’s just way too easy to refresh a few times and find something that may have been “sold out” just minutes earlier.

I have a question about LL. Is it possible to just purchase Tiana’s as an individual LL? Or do I need to purchase the multi pass?
Our top priority for the entire trip is Tiana and Tron, our booking window opens tomorrow at 7:00 am.

What is our best course of action to achieve this?

No, you cannot buy Tiana as an ILL. It's only in the multi pass.

I would personally buy LLMP and book Tiana (and two more). I would then join the Tron virtual queue the morning of your visit, educating yourself if you aren’t already familiar with how to pretty reliably get an early group.

If budget is not a concern, I’d just buy both LLMP and LLSP for Tron. But Tron is IMO an overpriced LLSP option.

After you use your tier one ride and your tier 2 rides can you go back and ride again the same tier one ride if available

I’m not trying to be a troll, but what ride at MK needs a fastlane in the next month? Tron and Minecar are individual purchases and Pan’s down. Maybe there’s some worry about not getting a chance to ride Tiana, but the rest of the rides at MK have rapidly moving queues. On top of that, summer crowds are low. Other than fomo, what is this giving you at mk other than a lighter wallet?

Well, when I checked Space Mountain had a 70 minute wait for standby. (60 minutes now at 8:37pm) That's not a line I want to stand in. My concern is what effect does this new system have on standby wait times. I hope it's no different that Genie+, but I suppose it will take a while to determine that.
