Pixie Hollow id Dead!!!!

They haven't shut anything down they are just clearing land in the 20K plot nothing is shut down.

I was under the impression that they had moved Mickey and Minnie's country house and had to close the railway. They have taken out Pooh's playful spot and will eventually have to shut down Dumbo for awhile. I guess what i meant to say was that they had to close or relocate some of the attractions in this area.

I think there is all kinds of interesting background in the Jim Hill story as far as the fantasyland expansion and now the scaling back of that expansion. Even as a mom of 2 girls, although both sadly past the princess stage, I was surprised when they first announced all the new princess stuff. I think the money is better spent on other projects as well, not just focusing on the girls ages 6 and under demographic. I personally would have liked to see a Pixie Hollow, because I think the movies are adorable, but I guess in a strict financial sense, they aren't going to pour money into a flagging movie franchise.

Not yet Mickey's TT Fair is still opening, the only thing closed right now in FL is Ariels Grotto so far they are just doing prep work.

I hope they do build more for the young boys. Just trying to find fun stuff for boys to buy at the gift shops is hard.. It is all princess stuff.
They did a few good things with Jedi training and Pirate training but I would like to see more done in the MK for boys.

I think this will be adressed in Frontierland.

I think this is a good idea. Seeing Tink was great, but the movies are straight to DVD movies that didn't deserve a whole large area in the park. It'l be like having Ducktales land.

I'd love to see them focus that money on building more dark rides from classic movies. Such as Robin Hood, 101 Dalmations, or Fox and the Hound.

I am wondering, if they are "rebooting" the pixie franchise, if it is more likely that they are just waiting to see how the new direction goes before they do the work on Pixie Hallow.

But whether or not Pixie Hallow gets built, I assume Dumbo still gets moved to the new circus-based area back where Toon Town is currently. Unless they are rethinking ALL of the expansion.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, esp OP but the title is a little misleading. PH is not dead, but according to the sources quoted it is being pulled back for "redevelopment". It could be delayed, moved, changed in size or killed, but it is not dead yet...

True, but I have two words for you: Beastly Kingdom.

I was actually really looking foward to PH. Oh, well...I'm an accountant so I understand the supply & demand and cost-benefit analysis. I would like to see Frontierland get some love, but I do like it as it is now as well. WDW is constantly changing and evolving....when finished, I am sure we will all like it in some way or another.

Just disappointed a little as I was really hoping to meet Terrance and my family loves Rosetta 'cause she's a redhead!

I hope they keep it - but I'm biased as my DD is a BIG fan of ALL the fairies and Pixie Hollow.

I wouldn't be upset if they scaled back Pixie Hollow and the other meet and greets, but my DD will be sad if they cut out all the other fairies. Rosetta and Iridessa are her favorites. (They could even keep them the same!) I wouldn't be upset if they change course a little bit and spend some tiem and money on Frontierland. It was a big project for something that was really going to only add one ride to FL.

Disney does stuff like this all the time. My D23 magazine is filled with sketches for parks, attractions, and movies that never came to be.

I was told by my castmember cousin that Toontown was always intended to be temporary. Apparently it just stuck around until they decided what to permanently put there.

I think Pixie Hollow would have been cool, but I'm most excited about the Princesses getting their own digs. Tink has been around for a long time, but as Peter Pan's sidekick until recently. The Princesses have been around for FOREVER!! princess: I mean, since once upon a time at least!! And I don't think they're just for little girls, lots of us have grown up with the staple princesses. :cutie:

Ducktales Land would be awesome! They should have a land for all those Disney Afternoon cartoons i.e. Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Tail Spins, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, etc.) That would be pretty sweet, and much better than any variation of PH.

So was BK in WDW PH is dead.

Correct before it was TTF it was Mickey's Starland and Mickeys Birthdayland.

I am sorry you are wrong on that. Poohs playful spot is closed and so is ariels grotto.

Read the thread I said Ariels Grotto closed and sorry I forgot about the Pooh spot, but Nothing major has closed in FL so no I am not wrong. :)

Hmm..I would be glad to see Pixie Hollow go. We like Tinker Bell, but prefer her with Peter Pan.

Let's say that they cut the Princess M&G's. They were located between the castle wall and the LM ride. So the just build a nice garden forest with no buildings. Flowers and benches is all it is. How much money will this shift to another attraction(s). The Meet and Greet buildings were nice looking and fairly large but I don't think there demise would make for a huge amount for something different in FL or AL or AK. Disney would need to add even more funds.

First, Just becuase not one believes your rumor is no reason to be rude to me. I did read the thread and you only mentioned Ariels grotto not poohs spot.

I am not sure who made you the WDW master but to many of us poohs spot is a very important attraction. With young children it is a important spot in our touring plans.

So NO NO NO I am not wrong - 2 places have closed Ariels and Poohs.

Stick to facts not rumors.

I don't think I was being rude like I said I forgot about Pooh. By the way I could care less if you don't believe me.
