Pixie dust is gone

No, I haven't gotten to it yet. Sorry I'm not following your timeline.

I complain when someone calls a poster a name- apologist, whiner etc. But I don't complain when someone disagrees with me. You can call anything I post hogwash and that's perfectly fine with me. Just don't call me a hog. I'm not even insulted that you called my posting style passive-aggresive. Although that has to be the single most over used phrase on the dis. Maybe I'll make a poll on that. I also complain about this habit of predicting what the opposition will say and predicting it such a way that it attempts to make the opposition look like idiots. Talk about passive aggressive...there ya go.

If you'd like, I can copy and paste this to your comments you made directly to me, but that seems kind of silly.
I read this and I hear what you're saying, but I'm not going to post a rebuttal. It's not worth it. And inthe grand scheme of things it's all "hogwash"

I am SO sorry you feel this way - really. I would not tell you that it was my experience if it wasn't true... and as I said before.. isn't it worth a TRY???? I guess I'll never understand why people CHOOSE to remain victims and to defend their victim identity rather than to allow a glimmer of a possibility that they create their own experience by choosing to believe it's going to be good!
I actually believe in some of this myself but there is a little too much of blaming the victim in your posts. Bad things do happen to good people as they say and having a rosy outlook can't shield anyone from all of the bad things that happen.

Boy , truer words were never spoken. I work in oncology. Do you know how many times I wish a rosey outlook would cure this flippin' disease?

I don't envy you that. I work in the credit industry so I see the financial hits people can take sometimes due to no fault of their own. I can't sit there and think that things would have been different if they just had a better attitude. :badpc:

Yeah - totally agree - I don't know why I keep going back...other than the weather.

I feel like this all started about a year into the DDP - when they started to maximize the profit involved in it. QUOTE]

If it is the cost that is the troublemaker here... :confused3

When I moved in with my DH, groceries cost us $50 a week. Now they cost me about $150 a week. Gas back then ws 99 cents a gallon.

I think costs go up all the time, everyplace. It might be company greed, companies trying to adjust to their own increased costs, or both. Costs are just not going to stay the same forever. Right? :confused3

so you get some customers who are financially destroyed by medical bills.
I guess the take home for both of us is: aren't we lucky that we are able to go on any vacation? I am constantly reminded of that. It doesn't make what Disney is doing any less annoying, but it does put things in perspective.

You're right a lot of costs go up. But right now gas prices are falling. Yippee skippee! However, Disney price increases outpace the cost of living increases, by far.

Having just returned from the world 24 hours ago, I think the forced slower pace of FP plus is a good thing. Slower pace allows one to reflect more on the ambience and the non-ride offerings of the house of mouse. I will continue to use my DVC to vacation for quite the foreseeable future. 0P I hope you find the pixie dust again.

I like being allowed to do so, but very few people like being forced to do so.

But, despite the iron rod sticking out of your skull, you can still have a good time with the right attitude. It is Disney, after all. :rotfl2:

For the record, I believe in having a positive attitude. It does allow you to overlook some bad things. But there can also be things that happen to dampen your vacation no matter how good of an attitude you have. I'm sure all the people who were blind-sided by not being allowed in the park during the early days of MB testing had a good attitude to begin with.

I think you have the right attitude, Bob. Maybe that iron rod sticking out of your skull is beneficial!

Hmmm... actually - and try this out for yourself - if you DO "just believe", then you won't come up against those tech support issues, or the 100 minutes waits. I know, it's a hard concept to swallow, but if you just TRY... you'll see that your attitude comes FIRST and your yucky experiences come up to meet it... (maybe you are not ready to hear this right now.. that's okay... but hand over heart - I've tried this for myself and it DOES work. Positive attitude and expectation and beliefs DO attract positive outcomes and they do seem to lead you away from the tech problems and 100 minute wait type of experience... Your victim attitude is just getting you more things to feel victimized about! Hey, isn't it worth a TRY to just start out "just believing"??? :confused3

Right. I'm going to assume you're kidding, because that doesn't even make sense. Are you saying I caused the tech problems because I had a bad attitude? You do realize that those of us who are unhappy right now are unhappy because we LOVE Disney, right? So we had a very positive attitude about Disney going into this. I can't believe I'm even arguing this. It's so beyond absurd.

Anyway, part of the reason FP+ drives me so bonkers is because I KNOW I can have a better experience. Because I've HAD it in the past. And I still have it on Disney Cruises, by the way. If you think I sound too negative about FP+, maybe listening to me go on and on about the cruises will help. I'm not a super-negative person in general. I just haven't had a good experience with FP+ and MM+ and I'm not going to keep banging my head against that wall because I "believe" next time it won't hurt.

Did you read my whole post or just the line that fit what you wanted to say.
Price of the DDP went up...a lot...and the quality (and choice and variety) of food went down..a lot....thats the issue with that - if quality was teh same there would be much less issue. I have no issue going to Emeril's and spending $100+ per person for the tasting menu...it about value for money....I don't see value in paying $30-40 for a choice steak that is 9.95 at outback just because I am in Disney - does not seem like Pixie dust to me..

Selling ticket to events within events to get every nickle and dime out of those people that "Are just happy to be in Disney" - does not seem like Pixie dust to me.

There are also the ticked product commercials the call beverage seminars at F&W I mentioned in my post - does not seem like Pixie dust to me.

Price of gas is going down now as someone else mentioned....will Disney reduce the prices as quickly or maybe even increase the quality of food.

Let me answer that: Nah!! disney prices will continue going up until sales become flat. Not going to happen anytime soon.

Example: I went to the halloween party once The following year, the ticket prices had increased by $20. Disney didn't add anything to the party to justify the increase, they just did it because they could.

You are mentioning one thing that keeps driving me a little crazy. Why would I be here if I didn't care about WDW? I could see me hanging out on the Universal and Community forums but why would I be here having such a "pleasant" time if I wasn't hoping that Disney would once again make sense to me? Why would I have gone so often if I didn't love it?

Thanks for bringing that up.

Maybe we should just stop caring so much and accept the new way and be happy with less. That always works out well, doesn't it?

I don't think I'm thinking positively enough, because when I try to book FP+ for MK for 30 days out, SIX out of the 25 possible FP+ options are already booked. That's nearly ONE QUARTER (ok, 24%) of the possible FP+ options that are unavailable to me at 30 days out.

But by all means, FP+ lovers, keep trying to convince me this is better. Seriously. Tell me how this is better than 100% availability day-of with FP-.

Day-of FPs for certain rides weren't guaranteed either if you showed up late. Also, a lot less people used Legacy.

Ok, I guess I need to clarify. Day-of, meaning if you got there when the park opened. Meaning, everyone had the exact same chance of getting the one FP they wanted, whether they stayed off site or on site.

And yes, fewer people used legacy FP because they chose to. But, how does that make FP+ better?

If the same number of people that use FP+ now, used Legacy when it was around, it wouldn't be much better. It'd be the same issues, just a different interface. I'm not saying that makes FP+ better, per se, because obviously everyone is different...but for me PERSONALLY, it's not worse.

That's exactly your problem. You need to have high hopes!!

I tend to think many people who take their three fastpasses dont use all three a lot get missed. So the standby lines go faster then. I dont have a problem with standby they dont seem any slower than before.

I'm not going to try and convince a fp+ hater that it's better...for them. It's better for me, by a long shot.

It's better for me because I want to park hop and I want fp's in that evening park. Anyone can get to a park at rope drop and ride MOST rides with very little wait. It's the evenings, when legacy passes were out and lines were long that I needed fp's - and now I can get them.

I stay on site and get the 60 day window, which has so far, enabled me to get what we wanted. I'm sure 30 days is much tougher for a few rides.

But, you don't like it and that's understandable. What they had worked for you, not for me. I didnt' like it then, you don't like it now. It's just the way it is.
