Pirates take Alaska 7-14-14!

We have never been to Seattle so that is a draw, also looking forward to train ride and what we will see along the way. After I pay for hotel and site seeing I am not sure I will save any $ but I am looking forward to seeing something other than just between the airport and the port like we did last time.

I'll take the plunge and coordinate the Fish Extender Exchange! I know it's too soon, but I'm ready!

Ooh ooh ooh, I'm in! We just did our first cruise ever (on the Fantasy last week) and participated in a FE group. The kids loved it, and I now have a better idea about what makes a good FE gift. Definitely not too soon to start coordinating, because I need to get to work! Do you think you'll have one large group, or divide the participants into multiple smaller groups? (Note to self: check amount of fleece fabric in sewing bin)

hi - we did do dcl to alaska & will be going again next year we loved it so much -

flying into seattle or vancouver should be a decision based on what you want to do -

we found that from the new york area cathay pacific gave us better prices than continental / united or air canada - and we got two free bags - the times were not as great - but the service was - so just check out prices

we also wanted to tour in vancouver because we had never been there - i do love seattle - but there is also so much to see in vancouver - and the actual weekend we were in vancouver was it's anniversary weekend so we saw a lot of festivities - along w/seeing the site of the olympics & the hockey arena - so figure out if you go early & want to tour

We are thinking a couple of days before and one after the cruise. Getting flights to Boston from YVR that leave after 12:00 noon seems difficult and result in very late arrival. So thinking a day in the city then early flight on Tuesday morning.

Hello Everyone ~ we just changed our June 30th Disney Alaska cruise to this week.

My daughter might not have been able to come with us and I didn't want to chance it.

We have cruised DISNEY before, but never to Alaska. We are SO excited!!! :cheer2:

Welcome! Alaska is fantastic. It's going to be a great cruise.:cool1:

Just got off the Fantasy Western Caribbean cruise - did a bookmark on that trip and JUST TODAY decided to make it the July 14, 2014 to ALASKA - very excited. (Had a hard time finding this thread :) is there a facebook page started?)

We made so many new friends on the last cruise and had a fantastic FB page going. We enjoyed Palo together for brunch and did a private mixology which was a totally blast!

We also did our first FE - 45 cabins but it was SO. MUCH. FUN! I will gladly help with that too if needed. :cool1:

I will be traveling with my 2 DDs who will be 10.5 and 14.5 at the time of the sailing ... also my parents and MAYBE my brother will be joining us! I've already been picking the brain of the people from my last cruise that have done this trip - it looks and sounds amazing! :thumbsup2

BTW - I'm Jen! :wave2:

:welcome:

We are very excited as well!

We have done several Fish Extenders, but not sure yet if we will be joining the FE for this voyage. :confused3

Anyone want to join me in a cup of coffee up on the top deck? :coffee:

Uh... guess I was just dreaming :cloud9: ~ and I'll have to settle for a cup of coffee here at home and staring out my window dreaming of Alaska and our cruise.

Dose anyone have any plans or ideas for excursions? :sail:

Hey Jen ~ I don't think their is.

~ C

I can start one, but I need friends to add to get it started :rotfl: so if you want to friend me on facebook Jennifer Nordstrom Newton (it won't let me post a link yet) I can get the page started :p I find the facebook easier then DIS boards.

Per excursions, a friend of mine went last year, and did the following: "As for excursions, we did Summer Dog Sledding in Juneau and then took a bus to Mendenhall Glacier. Wildlife Expedition in Skagway and in Ketchikan we did the Jeep and canoeing on Lake Harriet." She said they were all pretty amazing!

I started a facebook page for the cruise ... we can also do the fish extender sign ups through there :) I have to do 4 more post to add the link...
