Pirates & Pals view question

I was able to get this set for our Nov. trip. But, now I'm worried. After spending almost $250, I am concerned about the view. I have 2 small girls 13 & 10 (adults per Disney). How can a boat for 50-60 people actually accommodate viewing for all? I understand that it is bench seating and only one side faces the castle. With my luck, we would get the last row on the back side with 4 basketball players across from us.

We did the Pirate and Pals when my daughter was 9. Our seats were opposite side of the fireworks and we could see just fine. I do think where you sit can effect viewing of the Electrical Water Pageant since it is eye level. We had great time and everyone should do it atleast once!

I was lucky to sit on the "right" (the odd numbered ) side of the boat and the view was fantastic. We could easily see everything. My MIL was sitting on the opposite side and she said she could see everything fine.

You could try requesting an odd numbered row on your reservation?

Do you know if I should call and request the "odd #" side or should I wait until we arrive for the voyage?

We did this in October and were on the wrong side of the boat. We had a great view of the water pageant, but the fireworks were just average I would say. My 6 yr old actually had a bit of a paddy because she couldn't see well. It depends a lot on the other people, we had some families who stood their kids on their laps on the fireworks side, which was quite a barrier. You can see everything yes, but its not an unobstructed view and there will be heads in the way. You're viewing a narrow strip of sky between the boat side and the roof / canopy. I was a little annoyed as we booked as soon as the booking opened - like I was ringing every morning for about 10 days and being told its not open yet, so it wasn't like they gave priority the earlier you booked.

It was lots of fun, and I don't regret doing it, but its better to have realistic expectations. Also if you're last off the boat at the end, and you want to meet any special guests, be prepared to wait. As you can imagine, 100 people in a queue, if you're at the back that's an hour of waiting.

As far as I know you have no say in which row you are assigned.
*** PP said one side of the boats face the fireworks and if you are on the other side you look need to turn your head and look across. And depending upon where in row you sit (if you're on side facing fireworks then the seat furthest in from the aisle is best and if you are on side not facing fireworks then the aisle seat is better.

However it is a big open view to the fireworks and they do happen far enough away and far enough in the sky that you can see them from either side. Plus it is nearly impossible for any of the other guest son the boat to stand up or move in such a way to totally obstruct your view.

Also, after fireworks our Pirate Captain did trivia questions and gave out little prizes. We were sitting towards the back of the boat and I found those sitting in the front rows up until about the middle tended to get called on to answer questions. DS didn't get a chance to answer or win something as I don't think the captain saw him as well.
