I was finally able to get information regarding the Pirates of the Caribbean refurbishment. The facts are this. Imagineering has been working on some new enhancements including new scenes and characters, since last year, but they have been having many problems with scheduling. Around May of last year, there was even hopes of having many of these new features placed in by May 5 2005, the beginning of the Celebration that is taking place now. That of course did not happen. The fact of the matter is simple. Disney officials do not want a major and classic attraction closed down dur the first year of this celebration. The entire reason for this celebration was to have everything open, along with new attractions. To close down this attraction, would simply work against the entire goal of the marketing department. Unfortunately, this does not have Imagineering too happy. Ecspecially in Florida, they have been waiting to enhance the attraction for some time now. The fact of the matter is the next movie will be released next year. Maybe Disney wants to do something special for that. We will soon find out.

So translated, that would mean that it will be down next year? That stinks! We were there in January, while Small World was close, and probably won't get back until next year. Both are some of my favorites! I also love the Enchanted Tiki Room. I suppose that will be next... :confused3 I guess that's under new management though, so maybe not. :hyper:

Wow! I need a trip!

Look over at the Pirates of the Caribbean website. DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. On the message board in the POTC site, the title of the thread is A pirate Picture. It seems some news is starting to get our regarding some details about furutre enhancements for Pirates. It was told to me that POTC will be adding 2 new characters. One being Jack Sparrow and the other a mystical sea witch. I guess Disney is trying to find the next Leota Toombs.
