Hi we are going in September and have appointments for my kids to do pirates league before the halloween party. I have read a lot to take your own costume to the appointment. But since this is a surprise for my kids and they do not know we are even going to Disney I can't ask them what they would like in advance. My daughter I will not be sure if she wants to do the girl pirate or mermaid and I don't want to assume. I have read a lot with what comes with each package and deluxe ones but could anyone tell me that has actually been there is there a lot of options of other costumes we could purchase for them? We do not mind spending the money on getting them something there and Id like them to pick them out for themselves. So if anyone could let me know of what options are like that would be great :) Hoping they have a few that they wont die in from the heat that night!!!

We did pirate makeovers for Halloween party in 2010, it was amazing. We bought costumes on eBay, the kids had so much fun.

GD loved so much better than the princess makeovers, especially not having the tight bun on her head. She felt oh-so glamorous. Picked up pirate costume on Amazon. Mermaid outfit was tshirt & tutu. She has been wearing the full-blown princess gowns since a baby. Now that she's old enough to voice an opinion has said "no more"...she'll be back lol.

They do an amazing job as to makeup application!

Would never know she was same kid in this picture on trip! She's adorable either way, but it's almost startling as to the transformation. I did receive a few comments from friends that thought it was a bit over-the-top but isn't that the general idea..

Just throwing it out there that if you are very conservative, you may want to stick with the princess makeovers.

We have done both for our DD over the years. She loved both, and it was a nice change. Cast members at Pirates League are fantastic (IMO) no matter what package you go with.

I just wish I could see all the costumes they actually offered. I read all the package details and Ive seen a few pics but Im sure its not everything they have there. I am worried they will be so hot picking something there. The mermaid looks adorable and the outfit but not positive my DD will want that. When Ive told her about the place she has said she likes the pirates.

How old are your kids? If they are still young enough where they do dress up play sometimes, then buy them something for both options, then let them choose and the one that doesn't get chosen can just go towards the dress up pile. If they are too old, you could try to find some along the lines of shirts or dresses that go with the theme, let them choose and would be okay to have the second choice just to wear on any given day. My daughter picked out a little cotton dress with pretty fishes on it and in the same colors as the makeup and my son picked out a shirt that had a fun pirate saying on and a skull and cross bones, it wasn't hot, went with the theme, and could be worn again and again.

I don't know if it has changed much since I went 4 years ago, but I recall them only having one pirate dress for girls, a few pirate shirts for boys and various accessories for purchase.

Pirates.Leag..jpg For girls, I think they only have the pirate dress or the mermaid look with the tutu and tee. This is my daughter who did the mermaid package with the outfit. I have no idea for boys as I only have girls. FWIIW, my daugther loved it more than BBB. [GALLERY=][/GALLERY]
