Pirates, A Need for Speed, the Hoop and more... Updated 5/31...FINALLY!!!!

Glad to hear the Sunday Roast at R&C is good! This September will be my first time going there (we'll have a late dinner, hopefully patio seating so we can watch Illuminations!)... I checked out the menu since I've never been there, and the Sunday Roast is probably what I'll choose!

My DDs did the "pick a pearl" at Sea World a few years ago... but I haven't done anything with their pearls. Maybe I'll have to bring them back a souvenir, maybe a charm from Japan that can hold their pearls. I think I've seen those...

Can't wait to hear more!!!

What an awesome ending to your day.

Rose and Crown was never a restaurant that appealed to me, but your review of it changes my opinion..the food sounded delicious.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

mmmm... I love the Sunday roast! Last summer, the waiter at R&C talked me into it as it was HIS favorite!! I am so glad I listened! It is yummy, tender and delicious! We have had a 7:40 pm ADR twice in past visits and have been seated outside on the patio bothe times! Watching Illuminations from the R&C patio is so wonderful! And I have read from other DISers that even if you are seated inside (because you can no longer request patio seating) you are able to view the show from an outside area.

Oh... the Sunday Roast and the beer flight are fantastic together:cool1: I have also had the Bangers and Mash and liked it very much. But Sunday Roast is my first pick and Surf and Turf #2 if I am in the mood for steak!:goodvibes

Sounds like a fun day for you! :goodvibes And no naps in Disney World! ;) Well, besides your lack of nap, you had a fun day. I've never heard too much about Rose & Crown. You seem to raving about it, so it sounds like something I should check out myself. I'll have to make note of some of your seafood choices (<3 seafood). I think I may have to use the "Pick A Pearl" as a coaxing method on my mom to let me go back to Disney LOL :thumbsup2 for Soarin' and Spaceship Earth, love those rides! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear more! Update soon! :mickeyjum

I laughed out loud at Po waking up, just as you were going to nap!! :rotfl: I'm glad you all enjoyed your pool time.

I love that photo of the monorail and the Epcot ball - it looks gorgeous! :thumbsup2

That Sunday Roast looks yummy! popcorn:: Rose and Crown didn't make our shortlist as we can eat many of the items on a daily basis in the UK!

Yay on Sasha getting a pearl - I look forward to seeing a pic :)

I just really like the whole atmosphere at Rose and Crown. I love to sit out on the patio when it is nice out... in April it is not too hot and we really enjoy the view! We have had the opportunity to sit outside and watch Illuminations too and you just can't beat the view! My food was wonderful... but as I mentioned DH was disappointed in his 2 pieces of fish in his fish and chips meal;)

It was quite the funny let me tell you...I wish someone would push me around in the stroller awhile so I could nap during some off times!

And yeah... I guess living in the UK you wouldn't be that tempted to eat at R&C...

Ring photo... up next!!!:wizard:

Here is the photo I promised of Shasha's ring that we had made at the Pick -a-Pearl in Japan... it is very pretty and she loves it!
100MEDIA_IMAG0810-1.jpg

P.S. Just a bit of name background... Shasha is my DD's Chinese given name. We loved it and use it for her middle name. We actually call her Shasha (pronounced Sa Sa) a lot! Our ds's Taiwanese name is Po-Chun. We wanted to keep his as well and also used it for his middle name. We call him Po, Po-Boy, Po-man and Po-meister all the time!! We love keeping part of their culture in our everyday lives!:goodvibes

Shasha's ring is very pretty! That will be a treasured keepsake, for sure!

Love the story about their names. My DH's cousin and his wife adopted a baby girl from China a few years ago. They kept her Chinese name as her middle name (Fu-Nan) and it wasn't until later they found out the name means a type of tree that was used only for Chinese royalty. It fits because DH's cousin is a woodworker!

Love the ring! She has good taste. ;) I adore the story of their names, and how you kept them. That's just beautiful! :cloud9:

And ...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! :flower3:

:goodvibesHappy Mother's Day to all my DISmom friends!!!:goodvibes

I received the coolest Mother's Day gift today and just needed to share my new Disney Birki's!!!:cool1:

Of course I picked them out myself and ordered them... :rotfl:but DH and the kids hid them once they were delivered and wrapped them!!! I love love love them!!!

We were at our agency travel meeting when they were giving us all the name info... they gave the translations to about 5 families before us... beautiful names like Treasured Jade and River of the Sun. They got to us... look at us and the woman said, "And your baby name means nothing.... absolutey nothing." :rotfl: And I checked with a few other Chinese sources andfound that it really doesn't mean anything... it is just a pretty name for a little girl!:goodvibes

Love the ring!! Also thanks for the background on the names - I enjoyed reading about them.

Yay on your Mother's day pressie - what a great buy! ;)

What are the 3 P's??? Well I promised Pirates... and here is where they fall in. And of course, we have to eat... so we may as well stick with the P theme:laughing:

But first... our Animal Kingdom visit! The Animal Kingdom opened at 8 am this morning and we entered the park at about 8:05 am. Not bad and honestly, we would have been in 5 minutes earlier but the family in front of us couldn't figure out how to make their tickets work correctly and the CM really didn't seem like she was in the mood to help.. so she didn't! Really... I don't have much patience for people who can't seem to "INSERT TICKET HERE" and "Place FINGER HERE":headache:

We walked up through Discovery Island peaking into the animal areas but didn't see much. We headed straight for the safari. On our way to Africa a CM was handing out Fast passes so I went over to check it out... they were for the 11 am Lion King Show. I took 4 and stuck them in my pocket. I was trying to figure out how to make it work since I knew that our plan was to eat an early lunch at Pizzafari so that we could use Disney's 25% Quick Service Dining (because the parks are all packed and we need to convince people to eat lunch near breakfast time:laughing:) coupon. As we approached Harambe Village... low and behold another CM was handing out fastpasses. Of course, I had to go check it out. And yippee for us... they just happened to be Fastpasses for the 10 am Lion King Show!!! Now that one we can use!

We headed to get a fastpass for the safari and then got directly into the line... the wait was listed as 10 minutes and it took us 10 minutes to get through the line! We had a great ride... animals were EVERYWHERE! I didn't take any photos at all while in the safari vehicle and that was a first for me! Maybe that is why I enjoyed the safari so much... I didn't worry about focusing a camera, or zooming in, or which side of the vehicle the animals were on... I just experienced the RIDE! WOW! I need to do that more often!

After getting off of our 2 week safari (which was cut short by 13 days, 23 hours and 35 minutes) we walked over to check out the gorillas and they did not disappoint! We still had a few minutes before our 2nd safari fastpass.. so Shasha and I went to do a little retail therapy. We left empty handed but eyed up some purchases for later!

We waited in line about 15 minutes for our second safari ride. The stand-by line certainly was longer than before. I couldn't resist snapping a few shots with my cell phone this trip... I mean I have to have proof that I was on the ride, right???
100MEDIA_IMAG0658.jpg

Shasha and Po-boy love the safari! And I do too because it is one of the few great rides that we can all enjoy together as a family! I also love how the ride is different every time you ride it... even if it is only 30 minutes later!

After safely returning back to Harambe we decided to hop on over to ride the Triceratop spin. The kids love this ride and it IS basically the EXACT same ride as Dumbo but without the super long line!:rolleyes:We waited in line about 10 minutes and decided to get right back on... So, the interesting thing about this day is the pattern we are following... 2 fastpasses for Lion King Show, 2 rides on the safari, and 2 rides on the Dino-Dumbo ride! It certainly seems that we are experiencing quite a bit of Deja vu today!

Then we headed off towards Camp Minnie Mickey for the 10 am Lion king Show. On the way.. we ran into Pocahantas and our little ... ummmm Shashahontas headed off to her direction... I don't seem to have a clue as to why she would NEED to see her:confused3... EXCEPT:idea:

100MEDIA_IMAG0666.jpg

Oh yeah... I guess I forgot to mention that she dressed like Pocahantas today!!! And I think that Disney's Pocahantas was just as excited to Shasha!!! They carried on quite the conversation about how much they looked alike! Finally I could hold Po back no longer... he wanted to be a part of this Pocahantas thing... or maybe he was just a tad bit confused:confused3
100MEDIA_IMAG0664.jpg

Finally, we made it to the Festival of the Lion King and may I just say... We really didn't need those stupid fastpasses! Actually, the FP line was longer than the stand-by line:scared1:! But oh well... I love my fastpasses! My favorite part of the FLK show is the tumble monkeys... I think they are the highlight of the whole show. I often wonder, though, how many hours of gymnastics training those guys went through to be monkeys @Disney!??

After the show we headed off to our 1st P of the day... Pizzafari! We 3 pizza meals, one veggie, one pepperoni and one cheese... and shared! They each also come with a caeser salad so it really is a lot of food! I always like Pizzafari because... well... I LOVE pizza!I have also had the Italian sandwich and like that as well. We were planning to go to pizzafari from the very beginning because it is a QS restaurant that accepts the Tables in Wonderland card... and hey, that means we can save 20% even if we ate after 11:30 am today. But I needed to beat the crowd:rotfl:

We headed back to the hotel for a quick swim break and rest before heading out super early to the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the night! Because we still had 3 more P's to hit today...

Next up...
3 more P's... Piratepirate: League, Plaza and Piratespirate: and Pals Fireworks Cruise!

I'm loving your TR! Can't wait to hear more. So far your trip sounds wonderful!
We almost went with an ADR for R&C, now I'm wishing we did. Might have to try to change things up a bit! :rotfl:
What a great idea to do the safari twice, I think I will suggest that to dh:idea:
Love the story of your kids' names, so nice that you included that part of their heritage:lovestruc ...but so funny about your dd's name not meaning anything :rotfl2: it is, nonetheless, a very cute name;)

Yah for how much you guys got accomplished on your Ak morning.

Your daughter is adorable in her Pocahontas dress and the picture of your kids with her is precious.

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Love the P theming of this TR! :thumbsup2

Yay on enjoying the safari without the camera! Shasha looks cute in her Pocahantas dress :cutie:

That is pretty crazy you did everything at Animal Kingdom at least twice. I haven't been able to do that. Though... I do a lot more than you probably did since some of the rides I do, may be too intense for some little kids. I'm still jealous you got to see the FotLK. I really want to see that show and seem to never get over to Camp Minnie Mickey. For my next trip, that will be number one thing to do. :) Can't wait to read more, update soon! :mickeyjum

So excited to see your TR! Your descriptions are great and I love feeling like I went to WDW today!

Your family photo at the beginning of your TR is truly priceless! Amazing capture, of course with little ones as adorable as yours its probably hard to take a bad photo!

Look forward to hearing about your trip, always looking for tips and tricks from families just returning from the Happiest Place on Earth!
