Pirates, A Need for Speed, the Hoop and more... Updated 5/31...FINALLY!!!!

Am glad you enjoyed your meal at Plaza! I have seen pics of that sundae and it looks awesome - almost makes me want to book an ADR! :rotfl:

 at the weather interfering with your Wishes cruise!

:woohoo: at Shasha getting the question right - yay for Jake and the Neverland Pirates!!

Hope you felt better soon.

DD is so stinkin' cute in her pirate gear!

I know that feeling you get when something that you planned and have set in your mind seems to unravel, congrats on staying positive and seeing the kids were enjoying themselves despite the problems with weather and location of the boat!

On top of that not feeling well, but knowing you have to push through it...hoping to see future reports of your trip saying you felt better!

Sorry to hear that the weather interfered with your plans, but atleast you didn't lose out totally. Sounds like it was a great time in the end, and yah for Shasha winning! She is as cute as a pirate as she is adorable as pochantas!:) Can't wait to hear about more of your trip and I hope that you start to feel better before it's over.

Joining in. You have a beautiful famly! I'm envious of your many WDW trips!
Enjoying everything so far, and can't wait to read more!

Great update!! :thumbsup2 I love how DD chose to be a scary pirate!! That's too funny!! :rotfl: Good for her though! :thumbsup2 I'm sorry you didn't feel well! :sad2: I hope it passes soon! Sick + Disney =

It looks like this wasn't a fun day for you. But it all turned out well. I'm surprised your daughter did the Pirate's League and not the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. I've always seen girls walking out with Princess attire not pirate, though I may have seen one once or twice, but that's interesting that she did. Though you didn't seem very excited about it ;) The Brownie Sundae at the Plaza Restaurant sounds really good. It sounds like people are starting to really talk highly of that place. I may make ADRs there and try out that sundae :goodvibes Sorry about what happened with your cruise. It still looked like you had fun. I'm sure you could still see the Fireworks as you moved out so it wasn't too much lost. :) You can't control mother nature. Well, can't wait to read more! Update soon! :mickeyjum

The day started out great and then I just really started feeling yucky. I think the heat had a lot to do with it but in the end I ended up with a really bad chest cold and the plane ride home did wonders for my ears!

As for BBB... we have already done that! It was OK.. but even my daughter was not all that impressed... I watched VERY carefully and can do a pretty good BBB updo! Then we bought lots of glittery sparles for hair when our local Libby Lu went out of business a few years back and Shash is way more than satisfied with a Mommy do! She does however LOVE to get her face painted. I think that was the change in decision for her. She saw the little girl withthe make-up on and didn't think it looked like face paint.pirate:

And Oh yes... I sure am glad that our waitress brougt that brownie sundae! it was soooooooo yummy!:flower3:

That's too bad that the weather had to interfere with your viewing of the fireworks, but the rest of your day at the Mk sounds like a lot of fun.

We added on the Plaza for a last minute reservation on our last trip and it ended up being one of our favorites, i'm glad you guys really enjoyed it.

Shasha is adorable in her pirate face paint, but how funny that she wanted to change from the empress to a skeleton.

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

The weather interfereing stunk. I will admit that. In the future we will stick to doing the dessert party I think:rolleyes1 (you never know... we might try it again in off thunderstorm season. Hold on april is off thunderstorm weather!!! All in all... we are really glad that we did it. And we did have some brownies and snacks for later in the trip... that alone made it worth the $$:rotfl: We really did miss about the first 5 minutes of Wishes because the boat launch is behind the Contemporary and the hotel blocks the view.

I always wanted to try the Plaza... and now I know I will go back again!

And ... yup... she really liked the idea of a WHOLE face full of paint!!!

Awww, too bad the weather interfered with your fireworks. But yay for making the most out of the situation! It sounds like you had good day.

My nephew has done the Pirates League a few times... I love seeing the pics of him dressed up and with face paint! Shasha looks great, too! How fun!

One thing I have learned is that you have to know how to make lemonade out of lemons... it is the only way that you can keep a smile on your face! I love to have fun, enjoy myself, get caught up in a good laugh... and for sure I hate to waste my time being upset.

Shasha loved her face painted... but she didn't like it when we went back to hotel and I scrubbed... AKA ripped off her face with baby wioes and soap and water:rotfl2:. I neglected to put that in my TR...

I highly recommend just booking an ADR for THAT sundae if you don't have any room for meals! It is soooooooooo good!

The Wishes Cruise was great and Shasha winning the flashing mug with that correct answer was just awesome... especially since she beat out all of he adults!!!

Even when I am sick... I always remember that I am still in Disney! It isn't fun feeling yucky in Disney, especially when your two kids are roaring to go. But I had lots of Alka Selter and Tylenol and just kept taking them. And we slowed down for me a bit too. That helped.

Ahhhhh.... thanks!!! I do love that little girl! Oh my... she looks at me and I just melt! For example, tonight we went to Kohl's and she wanted to try some clothes on in the fitting room with me. She looked beautiful in both dresses she took in and when she looked into my eyes and said, "mommy, I just love them"... so of course, we bought both... plus lots more! She IS spoiled that way...but she is MY SPOILED Girl!

She did look awfully cute and scary as that pirate! I still can't see beyond the make-up when I look at her in those pictures!:goodvibes

:flower3:Thank you for the compliment on my family! I tend to think so too!:rotfl: My kids certainly are my life... they ARE too cute for words! I look at them every single day and am still amazed that I am their Mommy!
And... I just love Disney...I am heading back with 2 girlfriends in July and then again with two families that we adopted our Shasha with in August! I love to share the place that we love!

Joining in. Sounds like a fun trip.

Thanks! Oh ... it was! :goodvibes

So I may be reading too mucch into your name but do you happen to love Broadway shows??? We just took Shasha to see her first Broadway show this past Saturday! We saw The Adams' Family and it was very good! She loved it an can't wait to go see Mary Poppins!

Today was my day that I could book excursions and do online check-in for our Disney Dream Cruise in August!!! I made sure everything was paid in full last week so that I could have access today. We really didn't plan too much... we only go to Nassau and Castaway Cay but I wanted to get Shasha and Scott into the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter. Po isn't old enough since he is only 2 but I signd the two of us up to be observers. And since I got us into the 9:30 am tour... we can stay at the beautiful beach there for a few extra hours!:cool1:

Oh... and I don't mind just observing... I will be able to take tons of photos of Shasha's memorable mammal moment. And afterall... I am doing the Dolphins in Depth tour while in the World this July on our Platinum Plan Girls only trip!:dance3:

I did have a choice of a few Palo times... I don't know why I even looked thjough since I didn't intend to even book it. I was just nosy I guess:confused3

I also signed Shasha up for the Oceaneer Lab. We were able to take her in while on our last Disney Cruise when she was just 2 and she LOVED it! Although... we don't take our kids on the Disney ship to get rid of our kids. Our idea of a vacation is spending time together as a family!

I got us a boarding time between 11:00 and 11:30 but I plan to be there earlier than that!

Hopefully, time for an an update tomorrow!

Yes, I do! I've actually seen Mary Poppins. It's a lovely show. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

:woohoo: on getting all your excursions booked! Sounds like you guys will have a great trip.

Looking forward to the next update :)

So... I left off with us going to bed after our piarte cruise and me not feeling so well. The morning proved to be not a get up and go morning. As much as I really wanted to get up and get to a park this morning I knew that wasn't happening. I felt absolutley yucky!!!! DH thought maybe he would just take the kids to a prak and I would meet up at the speedway later, but Shasha had a great idea:idea:!
"Let's just go relax at the pool this morning!" exclaimed Shasha enthusiastically! And Po agreed. He instantly started getting his swimwear at Shasha's words! So we did just that. We had our coffee, brownies from last night's pirate cruise, and hot chocolate, lotioned up and headed to the pool. As much as would have liked to just grab a few extra zzzz's on a lounger, I decided to sit on the shallow edge of the zero entry area. I placed myself conveniently by one of the jets and enjoyed a little water massage as I comfortably relaxed. Shasha and Po played in the shallow water and DH sat next to me. Shasha gave me a "make-over" spiking my hair up into a pretty hairdo. Ahhhh... I love when she plays with my hair! Afte about an hour and a half just chilling by the edge of the pool with the kids all content in the shallows we headed back up to the room for showers and got ready to start our day a wee bit late.

Today is Daddy's day. DH's birthday was in February and the kids and I bought him the Rookie Package at the Richard Petty Driving Experience:car: at the Walt Disney speedway.

He was pretty psyched about it. We decided to take a cab over to the speedway (though there is a free shuttle from the TTC). It cost us about $25 including a tip from Jambo House. It allowed us the luxury of extra time to chill and get ready this morning. We arrived about 15 minutes early and DH checked in with all signed waiveres in hand. He recieved his driver's suit and the kids both were given a future driver nametag. It was a nice touch. Since it was close to Easter each of the kids also had 2 eggs to find. They were Nascar Easter eggs... filled with candy! We sat in the instruction room and watched as the 21 participants were oriented on the program and all safety precautions. Then we were lead outside to the "grandstands" to watch. The kids and I snacked on some nutri-grain bars and peanuts, again courtesy of last night's pirate cruise. DH an the other drivers received their number order and were allowed to sit with us as the others took their laps.

DH was #12. When he was announced the kids and I lined ourselves up against the wall so that we could cheer:cheer2: him on (and take pics and videos!)! Scott had 1 practice lap and then 8 more laps to drive! He loved it!
100MEDIA_IMAG0738.jpg
As he climbed into the car I could see that he was super excited:woohoo: and Shasha was nervous for him.

With each lap he was able to drive faster and faster. The top speed at this lap by pros is 141 mph. DH hit 121 mph on his 8th lap.
100MEDIA_IMAG0711.jpg

I know that he wishes that he would have gone faster but he said that their is no spedometer or anyway of knowing how fast you are going when in the car. Once everyone took their drive we all went back into the training room and they had a small graduation ceremony for all the drivers. We bought the photos of Scott with the car and driving, a hat for Po and a visor for DH. We took the free shuttle back to the TTC and grabbed a bus to the Animal Kingdom... since it was waiting about 10 feet from us when we were dropped off. From there it was a quick ride over Jambo House. All in all from Taxi pick up till we were dropped off at he AKV it was about 4 hours. It was the perfect break from the parks, especially since I was a bit under the weather. Relaxing and sitting for the day was just what I needed because I was already beginning to feel better:) We enjoyed our day without the park so much we are thinking of booking a 3 night no-park stay after our Fantasy Cruise NEXT summer! Perhaps a 1 night premium plan... or Concierge level at AKV????

We had just a little bit of time to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the sounds of our pool view room before we had to ready ourselves for dinner. Po took advantage of this time to take a quick nap!

Next up... Sci-Fi dine In Theater and night vision!

Sorry you didn't having a good morning, but it seemed nice you actually got to relax and then you go to bring your husband to the Richard Petty Driving Experience. It looked like you enjoyed that. I don't think I could ever ride in a vehicle at 100 MPH, much less 20 MPH above 100. That must've been crazy for you to see your husband go that fast. Well, he enjoyed it and you all seemed to enjoy it. Can't wait to hear about your ADR! Update soon! :mickeyjum

I have to admit, I would have been a little freaked out watching my DH drive a car that fast! :scared1: But it sounds like your hubby had a blast... what a unique birthday present for him!

Am glad you were feeling better after relaxing for the day. Although going to the parks is very tempting sometimes a day away from them can work wonders.

I love the Richard Petty Driving Experience Review. :woohoo: on your DH hitting a high speed!!

It was just what the Disney Doctor ordered... and I was happy that the kids liked it too!

He loved it! They offer $100 your next experience within 2 years... he wants to do it again!

The parks are always tempting... we are trying to plan NEXT year's trip after our cruise. My husband's schedule will only allow 3 nights at WDW. I really don't want to spend the dollars on AP's or 3 day tix just for that... but I am still trying to work it in! LOL!

Oh my... what is a matter with me???:confused3 I have been so involved in the children's activities, preschool graduation, a new workout schedule, a weekend of picnics and my fake farm that i let my TR get away from me:rotfl:
Tonight... I will update tonight!:flower3:
