We are back from our Walt Disney World Spring Break vacation:upsidedow! We had a super great time :woohoo:and can't wait to head back to the World! But first... we must look back at our trip and decide what we would definitely do again and what we would definitely not do again. Despite months... 11 to be exact... of planning some things just did not go the way we expected and YES, things CAN be better when they JUST HAPPEN!!

So here we go...
The Characters...
There are four of us...

This is our most recent family photo... taken by David and Vicki Arndt Photography in the lobby of the Polynesian!

Myself... This was my 28th trip to the World! I have done it so many times and so many ways... and am always looking for more adventures and experiences! My first trip was when I was in 8th grade... and the magic struck me on our honeymoon 14 years ago! Throughtout the years I have experienced WDW as a couple, with my family, both on and off site, with my 2 best girl friends(using Premium Plan last year and Platinum Plan THIS summer), and as an advisor for our annual middle school YES trip! I do not go to Disney to relax... I go to Disney to EXPERIENCE the magic of living in a fairytale world for just a few days at a time!

DH...Also a lover of Disney... he too was hooked into the magic on our honeymoon! We visit WDW as a family once or twice each year and are owners of DVC! It is wonderful to experience the world with someone who loves this place as much as I do!

DD... age 5,princess: currently a preschool student! Oh my... Shasha's first visit to WDW was when she was 18 months old and this will be her 9th trip to the World... not bad considering she is adopted from China and beacme part of Forever Family when she was nearly 9 months old! She has only ever had her haircut at the Harmony Barbershop on Mainstreet at the Magic Kingdom... well, with one exception... she had an $80 cut, style and make over while onboard the Disney Magic in 2008! Shasha LOVES Disney and could easily be a guide through the parks!

DS... age 2, and just the cutest little boy! This will be his 4th trip to WDW! Po was adopted from Taiwan in 2009 at age 8 months. He is a self proclaimed vegetarian and it is sometimes difficult to find him things to eat... besides junk food, although he has just started to eat a bite or two of chicken about every other time you offer it to him.:rotfl:

Our magical trip was over our Spring Break, April 17-April 23, 2011, and we expected very high crowd levels... we have visited the World 2 times during spring break before and have learned a strategy to never be a part of the crowd!!! This makes Disney World extrememly enjoyable! And ahhhhh.... may I just say that the weather was most delightful... upper 80's adn 90's and little to no humidity!

We had many great new experiences and enjoyed lots of ADR's on this trip and I can't wait to share our thoughts with all of you!!!

and welcome :cheer2:to all my pre-trip followers!!! :cheer2:

Just an FYI... I am putting direct links to all of my TR posts on the bottom of Post #1!!!

Well, may as well bore you with our Day One activities first off:lmao:. Honestly, I LOVE LOVE LOVE to plan... What do they say? Planning is half the fun... But somehow getting to the destination is not something I look forward to:confused3! Our flight didn't leave until 5:53 pm from our small local nearby "International" airport... so we had lots of time to finish up our packing and get our Cindy Lou Who (my 12 year old puppy) to her Gramma's house for her puppy vacation.

We, a family of 4, packed all carry-on for this trip... we have done this many times before and it is really very easy. I don't get to take a ton of extra clothing but we always have enough and I just take 1 or 2 of those laundry detergent/ fabric softener/dryer sheet things with me in case I might need to wash some things. I haven't actually used one yet... but I just know that the time I don't take it with me will be the time I NEED it!!!

My biggest challenge packing carry-on is usually suntan lotion!!! I found 3 oz. tubes at Walgreens 2/$5 and bought 4 of them which I fit into 2 Quart size liquid travel baggies! So... this trip, THAT WAS EASY!

So I finished packing and getting the family ready for the flight.... coloring books, drawing tablets, pencils and crayons, CD player and cd's, snacks, empty drink bottles and Crystal Light packets to fill later and my Kindle. Shasha always likes taking her DVD player but I hate to take it through security because it is just a pain to take all out of the case for screening...

We took our Cindy Lou Who to her Gramma's and stopped at our favorite local diner for a good lunch since we wouldn't be arriving until very late and would only have snacks for dinner:rolleyes1

My parents picked us up at 4 pm and dropped us off at the airport. It was on this ride that I realized I was feeling a bit under the weather... just off and not quite right... but the magic will go on! My mommy shed her tears for us as she always does, like we we won't ever return. Check -in was easy and security was a breeze. Before we knew it we were boarding the plane and taking off right on time! Po, who hates to stay in his seat, fell asleep for most of the flight. Whew! That made things even easier than expected!:woohoo:

We landed safely in Orlando at 8:19 pm and were off to get our Magical Express ride to the hotel when I realized that I totally forgot our ME packet with our tickets in them! I never even got it out from its "safe" place! That is one downfall to packing carry on because I didn't need the luggage tags they send so I didn't even give the packet a thougt until we landed!:confused3 Luckily, no one was in line at the ME counter and I apologized for not bringing our "boarding passes." The CM said that it happens all the time and printed us out a new sheet with our ME passes for both trips. In just 5 minutes we were on our way to the ME line and almost instantly boarded our bus....where we sat and waited for about 20 minutes for our bus to fill up!!!! :scared1: I HATE waiting!!!! I sat there and thought about how full the car rental counters all seemed to be to make myself feel better... it worked a bit...

Then we were on our way to the resort:woohoo: by root of POP Century:headache:, then Coronado Springs:headache: and an hour later we finally unloaded at Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House:love: It was the LONGEST Magical Express adventure EVER:eek:!!!! We ARE renting a car for our August trip!!!!

I did on-line check-in 10 days out requesting a pool view room and we got our request! I overheard the CM next to us tell her check-in party that the hotel was fully booked.

We were assigned room 5020 and it was a perfect pool view room!!! We love this location because it is a short walk to busses, a quick elevator ride to the pool and easy to get to The Mara! Location... Location... Location!

The kids were excited to be in Disney and were a bit hyper when we got to the room and YES... they DID jump on the bed:yay:! But we knew we had to get an early start to our day in the morning so we were settled into bed and fell sound asleep in no time flat... with a 5:30 AM wake-up call!:goodvibes

Shasha's::MinnieMo Thoughts of the day... We went to the hotel and we were so excited for the next morning that we went right to bed and to sleep!

Wow... that is an amazing photo! Sorry to hear of the hiccups in your arrival. Hope you felt better quick!

Can't wait to hear more!!! popcorn::

Sounds like arrival day went fairly well, with the exception of the ME wait. I hope you felt better and wasn't ill over your vacation....
