Pirate & Princess Party Review - Don't Come Hungry!

Just now checking back in - yes I meant to say the PARADE was Princess heavy but there were several pirates (including Capt Jack Sparrow) in the parade. There were also several horses at the beginning of the parade - one of which looked rather skittish because of all the flashes going off.

According to Guest Relations you can enter the Magic Kingdom at 4pm with you party ticket.

The fireworks show was LONG and started at 9:45pm. There were 2 parades at 8:30pm and 10:30pm - we saw the second one at 10:30pm. It started from Frontierland.

Even though the "treasure map" stated that certain food locations would be open there were some that were not so be aware of that. Also most food locations - even Casey's on Main Street - closed EARLY. Aloha Isle was still open as of 11:30pm as was the bakery on Main Street. The ice cream parlor was closed. We had tried to eat at LTT just after 9pm and they had already stopped serving (even though they were listed as open for the event).

The lines for the treasure spots got shorter the later it got so you may want to wait to treasure hunt until later in the evening.

The character greetings at ToonTown had a line before they opened at 730pm too.

We had a BLAST and would definitely go again in a heartbeat. I happened to see a friend of mine from my CM days that is management now and he asked what we thought of the event. We told him about the lack of food and he promised to make sure that was addressed.

I really wish they wouldn't give out the raisins!! We got a ton at MNSSHP - and I do mean a ton!

Just say you don't want raisins. DS and I can't have most chocolate since we are allergic to soy (yes even soy lecithin). It's nice they have something for kids who can't have chocolate. We told the CMs no chocolate, just raisins. They were more than happy to oblige.

we'll be there feb 5th. got a couple of questions, you mentioned getting in @ 4, was that with just your party tix or did you have park tickets prior? In other words, I will only be using my party tix that day will not be going to the parks earlier that day, can I get in before 7 cause we wanted to eat there before? I coldnt get a ressie for 6 or 7 but if I knew I could in before then I may have a chance. also, what rides are open?

We did not have park tickets that day. We were allowed in at 4pm using JUST the Pirates & Princesses ticket. We received our wristbands and loot bags as soon as we entered the gate. The banners for the party and the red carpet was already in place when we entered.

The rides that were open:

Tomorrowland - Indy Speedway, Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, Buzz Lightyear, Stitch's Great Escape, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Tomorrowland Arcade.

Fantasyland - Peter Pan's Flight, Cinderella's Golden Carrousel, Dumbo, Philharmagic, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, Mad Tea Party, Small World.

ToonTown - Barnstormer.

Liberty Square - Haunted Mansion, Legend of the Jolly Roger Haunted Riverboat.

Frontierland - Country Bear Jamboree, Frontierland Shootin' Arcade, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. **Note the map said Splash Mountain was open but it was NOT since it is closed due to rehab.

Adventureland - Aladdin, Swiss Family Treehouse, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hope that helps! :) Have a great time - we did!

Our family went last night to the Princess and Pirate Party and had a super time. We have bowls of candy and raisins on the counter today. The lines for treasures were long the 1st hour but after were really short. The fireworks were great. The rain was a damper. There were princesses and pirates alike. It was nice to walk right on the rides without waiting at all. We would go again.

Did they have the Dance Party with characters? If so what characters were there?

Every ride was a walk on!! I wanted to ride BTMRR in the dark, but I was afraid that it would start raining again as soon as we got on it and I hate roller coasters in the rain!!!

The rain sucked!!! But we did see Pirate Mickey because of the rain...we were running for cover and ended up in the Judge's tent and we probably wouldn't have gone there other wise. We were wet and cold at the end, but all in all we had a good time and would go again. Luckily it didn't rain all night.

I agree that you shouldn't go hungry....we ate cheeseburgers at Cosmic Ray's since it was the only thing they had available.

The fireworks were AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update, but what about character meet and greets? I would love to know any "rare" characters out and where the characters were meeting.

Drizella and Anastasia were meeting and greeting right behind the castle breezeway to the right, (opposite Tinkerbell's Treasures)

Hmmm, light on Pirates? Not good.pirate:
Of course I love the princesses (see my avatar, I worship Snow White) but was really looking forward to more Pirate related stuff, as I am a die hard POTC fan.

Okay - I didn't think it was light on Pirates at all. In the parade they had 3 different Pirate floats, a Pirate ship with the pirates swinging around on ropes, really done very well - look for Elizabeth Swan! Then there was the Pirate "Mountain float, the same used in MNSSHP with Captain Jack on the top. There was also the brand new and ADORABLE treasure chest float on a pile of Pirate Gold with Tinkerbell upon the top!! Back in Adventureland they did a great job of theming with these big flag poles with pirate flags up on them and big skulls on the bottom. In Frontierland, on the wooden walkway down by the rivers of America there was a great vignette with a pirate skeleton to take your picture by. Also, just as you enter Adventureland, on the Veranda on your right were Hook and Smee, but they had decorated the Veranda area with a great backdrop for pictures. Also, down by POC they had Goofy and Pluto in Pirate Garb. The treats were all either pirate "booty" (necklaces - down by POC they were "black pearls" ) or Hershey chocolate "coins" or "treasures" or (Princess) kisses. I thought they did a terrific job! Oh, also in the parade there were pirates with swords, and pirates with flags, and ghost pirates, all of these walking. Don't know what these other people missed. Oh, saw the Pirate Tutorial, and there was a Pirate band singing and playing music outside of POC too!

If you have annual passes and are in the park earlier can you stay in the park if you also have tickets to the Pirate and Pricess Party? Or do you have to leave and come back in?

You can stay in the park, but you need to take your P&P ticket to a wristband distribution location, they slide it through an electronic reader, and give you your wristband! Have fun!

Does anyone know if the chocolate is safe for people with peanut/tree nut allergies??
I guess I haven't thought about this ahead of time, but if it is not, I will have to prepare my DD ahead of time...raisins will not be a :thumbsup2 alternative!
