Just back to our room at OKW after the first Pirates & Princesses party.
For the most part things were cute and fun but with anything new there are some kinks to be worked out.
We were able to gain admission with our party tickets at 4pm and were given a wristband upon admission. We were each given a "loot bag" that was tiny if you are comparing it to a treat bag from MNSSHP. The bag is black and has a drawstring but it is small. The treasure spots are marked with an X but the lines were LONG at each spot and moved slowly. The loot was usually 1 string of mardi gras beads or 2 pieces of chocolate or a tiny bag of raisins at each place. After about 3 treasure spots we just skipped these lines and rode the rides!
The parade was GREAT but was definitely heavy on the Princesses and light on the Pirates.
The biggest issue is the lack of food! There were very few options for dining and the few CS places that were open had a very limited menu. We ended up at the CS across from Pirates because it was the ONLY food service besides snack carts in all of Frontierland/Adventureland! They only offered 3 choices - beef tacos, vegetarian tacos and a kids meal quesadillas. There were no prices on any of the food options and the cashiers didn't know the prices until they rang up the items. VERY poor planning on Disney's part. There were lots of hungry guests and nowhere open to eat.
The best part of the party was the lack of lines on anything - Peter Pan, Dumbo, Pooh, Space Mountain - every single ride was a walk on!
We had a great time. Lots of people were decked out in costume but most just had on hats.
We are driving back tomorrow but I will check back in if anyone has any questions.
I would DEFINITELY recommend the party. GREAT bargain for the price but just bring your own food or eat a huge meal before the party!
