hey guys i was told about a pirate excursion that is just for the kids and I called and pooked it today for my son, but I wondered if anyone had any photo's for me. I nervous to let me son go with out me so if anyone has any photos I would really appreciate it.

no, sorry I don't, but I'm subscribing to this thread cuz I just signed up my 8 year old son for it. I think you're speaking of the cruise from Grand Floridian to look for treasure. I'd like to know if this will be too babyish for my 8 yr old!!

hey we have the same picture of Ariel!! oops.

OH were we seperated at birth. Just joking. Yes I signed up my son but not sure if anyone had any photos so I could see what it looks like. You know the boat and all. Have a great day and we will see if we find out any info. :cool1:

I have some pictures, I will scan them in tomorrow if I can. I sent my DS4 last year, I was so nervous but he LOVED it!!!!!!
He is doing it again this year. They all wear life jackets and there were like 3 lifeguards on the boat. They have a great time.
I will do it ASAP for you.

My 8 yo nephew & 4 yo niece did it last week and it was the highlight of thier trip. Sorry no pictures but only the recommendation!!

just subscribing. Taking my Grandson who is 4. I think he would love this. Does anyone know the ages for it? My great nephew and niece will be with us and they are 6 and 9.

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that if the DS8 is at all into pirates and make believe, he should have fun. They pair the kids up so he'll have a buddy. I specifically requested that DD and DS4 be separated, as DD can be a bit bossy. There was another girl there who was also 8, and DD and she had a blast.
The only pics I have are of them docked, as parents aren't allowed to go. My kids went last August.

They each wear a life jacket and get a red and white striped bandana with Mickey ears. The Chief Pirate leads them in pirate lessons pirate: and goes over safety stuff. The littler ones are tethered to the pontoon boat. They putt off, Arghing for a treasure hunt. The parents get a pager, just in case. When you return for your pirate they come off with a sack lunch (pb and j uncrustables, fruit snacks, juice, rice crispy treat) and a treasure chest of loot (beads, spiders, rings, etc). My kids had a rip-roaring time, and I felt that the CM's were very good.

One last note, my DS was a bit difficult and kept following the 'bad' pirate. He explained later that he wanted to tell the 'bad' pirate to behave, and didn't want that pirate to be lonely. If you knew DS, it would make sense! :teeth:

Hope that helped!

oh everyone stories sound so sweet and exciting my son will surely have a great time. If anyone does have any pics of the boat please send them. Thanks :cool1:

My DD8 will be doing the Albatross Treasure Cruise which is very similar to the Pirates Cruise. The Albatross Cruise debarks from the YC & BC Marina, and they sail to different "ports of call" (countries in Epcot WS) where they find hidden treasures. They have a PB&J lunch, wear bandanas (not the pirate hat with ears), etc.

Of course DD's first choice was the Pirates Cruise but it was booked when we called (several months in advance) and the Albatross Cruise is very similar and newly added. I did do a search on the DIS and found photos of the (Albatross) cruise, but I don't remember where it was.

Just as a side note, like the poster who had pleanty of great pictures of the cruise, I will be sending a disposable camera with my DD for her to capture the adventure thru her own eyes.

My son took the Albatross Pirate Cruise from the Yacht and Beach Club last January. He was allitle nervous before the cruise but as soon as he boarded it he loved it and he was only 4 1/2 at the time. He still talks about it to this day. The first pic is him and the other kids boarding. The other two are toward the end when they have there snack and find the treasure.

for DD soon to be 9--we will be sending her and DS 7 on the GF Pirate cruise.
We are not going to tell them-it's her b-day present/surprise. They have never been and I want them to go before they are too old!

We figured it would beat the heck out of more "stuff" and I hate "doing parties" It's a win-win LOL!

When in October are your kids going? I have my son signed up for the Pirate Cruise on Wednesday October 11.

We'll be there in October, too, considering this for DS(8) and DD(4).

We'll be at POFQ, so I'm curious about the one that leaves from POR...are they all the same?

We'll be leaving on Wed., Oct. 11--maybe we could have this be our last day activity? (and give DH and I a couple hours alone...)

do the kids get to keep the bandada and ears?

The kids do get to keep the bandanas, which heavy a cool skull and crossbones print to it, no Mickey ears though, at least on the Albatross Cruise. They are also each given a treasure box filled with goodies at the end of the adventure.
