Welcome to the world of posting pix....no turning back now.

I'm thinking the next time I need to upload and edit more than one, we're going to Gram's for an hr or so..lol..she has dsl! My dial-up is the reason I don't upload more, I dread it every time, even though I love having the pics in the report!

I learned as a child of a single parent....the kids are a great resource for weeding out the jerks really fast. The kids just being there is all it takes, if they are jerks they leave before even meeting the kiddos, or leave quickly once they do.

Yes, it makes it very easy. I won't introduce Piper anyway until I'm at least 6-8 months in, no desire for her to live through the revolving door of my dating.


A song all parents can relate to.

Sometimes it feels so good once she goes to bed that I almost feel guilty!

The best one is when one of your girlfriends is turning 50 and you string HUGE bras all over the lawn, trees, bushes, then post on the garage door..."It's -------- 50th Birthday! She Needs All The Support She Can Get!"

Okay, remind me to never tell you more specifically where I live! Seriously though, that is tooooo funny!




Your not gonna rate her TP job are you? Remember this is her house Jordie, not a bathroom.

And thank you for the compliment, Millie..when I see what she goes through on a daily basis, and knowing time could be limited, it really gives incentive to try to make each day at least a little special.

I love Piper's gingerbread house! Can't wait to see this year's!

I bought the cookies for a fako jobbie this year. I wish we could get a better variety of candy though for them. And then, my househelper comes home with powdered sugar that has cinnamon added to it. I'm afraid my "snow" will look like someone peed all over the roof!

Maybe we should just skip it this year...

Thank you! Gram and Piper do a house every year, and Piper usually starts asking about it around Thanksgiving! She really does love it.

You could always sit and pick out the cinnamon.. Try mixing a mini batch of royal icing..maybe the cinnamon won't show up too badly? Don't know how much we're talking being mixed in. Yanno, even if it does look like yellow snow, I know Piper wouldn't care..maybe your lil ones wouldn't either? I wish I had known, I would have sent you some candy

Awww now I want to make a gingerbread house...can't wait to see her creation this year!!!

Oh and I don't have an elf that causes chaos in my house but I do have a gnome named Nobby...he's all the little trouble I can handle and quite jealous so I'm just going to enjoy your elf escapades LOL!!!

Alabaster is such a good elf..he left all the tp attached to the roll so it would be easy for me to clean it up afterwards! (And yes, it's in the bathroom now ready for use!..Maybe I'm too frugal!)

I admit it, I am a Disney movie junkie! I had 3/4 of those before Piper even came along..and when I see a commercial that one is "going into the vault" I have to buy it, lol. I'm such a sucker!

This is the first yr we've done the elf, and I love it!

I was really starting to stress about the dates, I feel much better now! We're having so much fun with the elf..this morning Piper found him playing "Hi-ho Cherry-o with one of her dolls, a polly pocket, and Gus the mouse (from Cinderella).

Tracy, your dog would probably love it for as long as it lasted...:lol:. My mom has a teacup poodle..I bought it a remote control mouse (cat toy..lol) and she will chase that thing allllll over the house, it's hilarious! Thank you for the compliments! One day I'll have to sit and write out the story of our house and why I love it so much. The elf fun is just beginning!

As promised, here are this year's gingerbread house pics. She had a really good time making her house, as usual. Once we were done Gram asked me to help her re-arrange the living room furniture and bring up the Christmas tree from the basement. I use the word "help" loosely as I don't let her move the furniture or do any lifting, too afraid she may push herself too hard. By the time Piper and I got home, we were both pooped! She fell asleep doing her vest, and I almost fell asleep waiting for pics to upload. Anyway...here they are, I added last years pic again so we'd have a side by side comparison!
