Is this still a thing? I have a bunch of pins to trade, but I'm not sure about bringing them to WDW when I visit in January. It has kind of died down at DL, does the same go for WDW?

It's certainly not very popular anymore, but there are still plenty of CM's willing to trade, and the occasional fellow guest. I'd say if you're into pin trading for the fun and camaraderie, it's still a thing you can do at WDW- I certainly did on our trip a couple of weeks ago, but mostly with CM's. If you're into pin trading from a collector standpoint- where you're interested in trading pins based on their respective value, or picky about what you trade- you probably won't have much luck; that scene appears to have moved to the internet. For the most part I let my 4-year-old decide what we would trade and what we were looking for, and the interactions were fun. We did trade with a few guests (mostly other kids) but for the most part it was resort and retail CMs, some of whom had boards rather than lanyards.

Awww that's a shame. I got in the game just as it was ending a few years ago. I do it for fun, not really a collector. I'll probably take a few just in case. Thanks!

If you're doing it just for fun, than absolutely it's still very much a thing at WDW. Very much so. We don't trade with other guests, but there are CMs everywhere who are not only willing, but happy, to trade. Our kids really love pins, and we have CMs walk up to our kids routinely to show them their pins and ask if they want to trade. There are still guests who set up shop in Epcot near the pin store in Futureworld. They're the ones who take it uber-seriously and have giant books organized into categories and turn a bit :snooty: about "common" pins. We don't bother with them much, as while it's just my own opinion, I think there's something a bit :scared: :sad2: about an adult who takes Disney pin trading that seriously.
