Pin Trading

Do the CM's accept pins from other Disney Resorts as trades?

I don't want to buy pins from America and find I can't trade them!!

Thanks

To trade a pin with a Disney cast member, the pin must be made of metal and have a representation of a Disney character, park, attraction, icon, or other official affiliation. Additionally, the pin must have a Disney copyright on its back.

I guess that's what I was looking for!

Thanks

You may also want to pay attention to this bit:

In Disneyland Paris, the cast members are instructed not to accept pins with any of the following origins: EuroDisney, Kodak, Arthus Bertrand, DisneyStore, Spain (also called sedesma pins), or Germany (also called ProPins). This is a partial list of the Disneyland Paris cast member instructions; the full instructions are in French, and worn on the cast members' trading lanyards.

Be especially aware of sedesma pins if you're looking to buy cheap on Ebay, I have been caught out a couple of times.

I love pin trading and it is quite addictive. My son and I have enjoyed doing this for the past four years. I am quite addicted now and have three lanyards full. One with my villains which I find are hard to come by. I am hoping that there will be plenty of those when I go next week. One with princesses and my miscellaneous one. I am in a dilemma which one to take with me.

The cast members always have pins early in the day with ones you can't normally buy and they are just special to trade. By the end of the day you find that they have all sorts of pins from other traders.

I find it great fun. Lanyards can be bought at the Park. I want a longer one though, don't you find they are a little on the short side.

Oh can't wait for next week. Joy to everyone here. So glad I'm now a part of it. I have loved reading all your things for over twelve months and never thought I would join in.

Yeah, its a trip report!! :)

Sorry! :) There are lots of lazy typers like me around!! hee - maybe we should make a list of the abbreviations we use for those less addicted (read: normal) people!

What are Sedesma pins???

What do you all reckon to these for instance??

Although they say Disney on the back they do not seem to be official Disney pin trading pins (the American ones of these have Disney pin trading and the year the pin was relieced on the back.) I personally would not buy these, but others might. Sedesma and Pro Pins are of lesser wuality than official pins. They do not look as nice IMHO, they often are duller or have a larger outline around the edge of the pin.

This is good advice as CM have the right to refuse to trade with these pins.

Also if the pin you trade has the old fashioned metal retainer the CM will give you it back with the pin you trade and keep their rubber mickey head retainer.

Oh I meant to say earlier -

They do have sets of pins for sale in shops all over the parks, which are good value.

I got my Dniece a set of 5 Minnie pins for 15 euro (and my Dream AP discount on top ;) ) - they were in the big shop in the studios.

I noticed that afterwards about the quantity !!!
Wont be getting those ones then LOL!... thanks :) :rolleyes1

Sedesma are Spanish and Pro Pins are German, both officially produced under Disney licence but the quality is very poor in comparison, hence the reluctance to trade them.
I have only been caught out on Ebay, when there's been a dodgy photo of the pin, have learned by my mistakes now though.
