Pin offer out..covers dates thru 2009

So only our Canadian friends have received this pin offer so far?

Wow. I was shocked..my mom got a email with a Pin offer for 40% off value resorts for the following dates..

Jan. 4–Jan. 15, 2009
Jan. 25–Feb. 12, 2009
Mar. 1–Mar. 14, 2009
May 31–Jun. 6, 2009
Aug. 23–Oct. 3, 2009
Oct. 25–Oct. 31, 2009
Nov. 15–Nov. 21, 2009
Nov. 29–Dec. 5, 2009
Dec. 13–Dec. 24, 2009

Wish I could say she was taking advantage of it!
We are going..but no email for me..and it doesn't cover our dates anyways.

Suprised they are already releasing something that covers all of 2009.

Another Canadian here, got our first code, 40% off:woohoo: .

It reads the same as above.

Your turn is coming! Seems Disney rotates. This year, the offer was released for US residents first . The year before was Canadian first and then next year back to Canadians first?

This is been my third year receiving the pin offer. This has been my observation.

I can't believe this...I always read about everyone else's good fortune re PIN codes, bounceback offers etc. I always update my Disney profile and get nothing. We went once in 2006 for free dining at WL. I just found this thread and checked my email for fun. I can't believe I got a PIN!! BUT....we just went on a really big vacation to Disneyland/SoCal this summer...can I convince DH to go back to WDW???

Thanks for everyone who responded to my questions about whether I should use the PIN code for our reservation for Jan 8-11 at WL. You guys did make me see the logic of calling to change to a room only reservation; I don't know what I was thinking. :confused3 Anyway, so when I called to make the change, I had a pleasant surprise; the CM told me that she *could* apply the PIN to our package! However, there were no standard rooms left with the discount, so we upgraded to a woods view bunk bed room and still saved $250 on our three night package with dining!

My day has officially been made. So, if there's anyone else who has gotten the code, know that you *may* be able to use it with a package, despite what was originally stated.
I thought the pin was for value only, so...it's for all resorts? Also, what percent did they offer you at WL?

With 40% off!!!!! I say convince the man!:rotfl:

It does say on the pin email that it may be good for moderates, values and packages. I think it really depends on availability. I believe that is why we could only get a woods view bunk bed room at WL. I'll admit that I didn't ask what percent we were getting off on the room rate - when they told me that they could upgrade our room and we'd still save $250, I didn't really ask for specifics. I did some quick math and some quick checking on the online reservation system, but it does look like I got 40% off or pretty close to it, when looking at a rack rate of $296 for our room and our total package price (with the pin code) of $1521, including park hoppers and dining plan for two adults.

ok i didnt look at all the pages of the thread...but i was wondering when u guys get the "special email code" what does the email say ...like from disney world dept or what? i need to look thru my spam folder to make sure i didnt trash it. thanks

That is a great deal. Fingers crossed that an offer like that comes our way!

Well, thought I would try and see if I had a pin - no go for me!:sad1: I am planning on going 5/31-6/6 or 6/1-6/7. I am HOPING so much that I get sent this elusive code! :wizard: Just wondering if anyone has booked with it, and if you could share your rates? Is this for room-only or packages too? Just want all the info so if I get to call! Thanks!:goodvibes

Has anyone ever rec'd a PIN that is in the midst of booking their first trip? Or do PIN's only get assigned to someone who's visited Disney at least once already? :confused3

No code rec'd here :sad2: .....and I'm wondering if I won't qualify for one because we've never stayed there yet. Our first trip is this coming January, and falls completely during the times listed on the email.

I am on every other Disney mailing list imaginable (or so it seems).....I'm getting tons and tons of other newsletters and whatnot. So its not like they don't have my email address!!!

40% off would be sooooo wonderful......here's hoping......

We've never gotten a PIN email. We've been going since 2002, sometimes as much as 5 times in a year. So they don't seem to rotate the emails. Some people never get one...

The email is sent from DISNEY DESTINATIONS.

thanks shopgirl...well atleast now i know what to look for!! thanks again

Also, to those who got the code, when you book, would you mind sharing what rate you got per night on the resort? Thanks.

I just booked WL-standard for the first week of Dec. 09 with our PIN code. The rate per night came out to $144. I'm sooo thrilled, we have never stayed at this resort before. It looks wonderful!

And for those who asked, yes, it can be applied to a package.

She was talking about who gets sent the emails/postcards first, Canadians v. Americans, not the actual individuals.

Yes. People who have never been to Disney get codes. It’s random. Marketing picks a qualification and sends to those people. It might be those who order a planning DVD or costume maps. It might be based on who is (has) looking at booking a trip but hasn’t. It might be people who are registered with a certain family size or ages. It might be people who subscribe to a certain newsletter. It might be people with odd numbered addresses. No one knows. It’s just pure random luck and how many times you (or haven’t) been to Disney is irrelevant.

If you don’t get a pin code, just look out for other discounts. Some of those are just as good, or even better on occasion.

I'm Canadian - no code, never received a code in the past - have been to Disney about 15 times in the past 18 years, even had an annual pass - stayed onsite and offsite. I stopped going to Disney and started all inclusives - my 16 DD wants one more Disney trip so planning next Aug 26th - Sept 4 or 5. I have ordered a DVD, signed up for everything, saved planned trips - even when the pop up came up saying you haven't booked is there a reason - replied - need a better rate before staying and have gone on the disneyworld.ca site and sent a note asking if there are discounts - still nothing.... but hoping.... if nothing will book into the Dolphin - Hubby turns 50 in April so joining AARP.

I just booked the exact same trip with the code - 2 rooms Standard WL for that same week! We're bringing my parents as they always wanted to go to Disney but never got around to going. I can't wait!! We also turned it into a package with park hoppers and dining.

Mickey's Best Girl - you will LOVE WL - we went in the summer and had a great time - I can't wait to see it at Christmas!

PS I never got a code before either...and had a serious case of code envy :rotfl: ..so there is hope for everyone else out there!

After reading this thread I decided to call Disney to see if there were any codes attached to my name. I have never gotten any emails, postcards or anything else offering a discount and we've been every year for the past 25 years so I thought I should at least check. Well, there wasn't anything attached to my name and get this my email address was SPELLED WRONG :scared1: and the "DO NOT SEND EMAILS' :scared1: box by my name was also checked. No wonder I have gotten anything!! I could have fainted dead away when the nice CM lady told me this!!! It's just my luck!!
Anyway, do you think now that I have corrected all the "wrongs" I will begin to receive offers? I need reassurance from my DIS experts so don't let me down!!!

Thanks for listening!!! :thumbsup2
Carla

Okay, I decided to look through my junk folder to see what I might have. I did get something from Disney in August. The subject says something like your August Hello. Anyway, on the left hand side of the email under offers is something about value resorts and dates in 2009 (specific dates, not all of 2009). Then it says to call to book and gives numbers in this format...

CST# xxxxxxx-xx
NVST# xxxx-xxxx

I'm sure these aren't pins, but thought I'd check here to see what the experts thought.
