Even the part of the month when you all aren't there ought to be pretty spectacular too! :snooty: :rotfl:

Hey now ... I mentioned the whole month! :lmao:

Il Mulino? Fresh? Please educate me, oh mistress of food porn!

It's mah sistah from anothah motha!!! :cool1:

Il Mulino is an Italian restaurant over at the Dolphin that gets some really good reviews from peeps here on the food boards whose opinions I trust.

Fresh is a made-to-order buffet also located at the Dolphin ... again, I hear good things about them and they have real coffee!

Good cofee???? In WDW....count me in!! I am somehow hoping that the coffee at RPC will be a least a LITTLE better than the disney norm..but alas, my hope is small ...;)

OH CITRICOS..we are going there for the first time this trip...any suggestions for a knock em dead dish?? everything sounds really good to me..but Greg isn't a fishy person..so i am wondering about their non sea life food too...

Thanks for reading and for posting this time so I know you're here. :goodvibes And if you do see us just say hi ... I love having the chance to meet up with DISers, even if it's just a brief hiya.

Enjoy your trip!! :goodvibe:

Oh no ... the only family member what gives out autographs is Grimace. :lmao:

Ok no autograph books and I will do my best not to gush :lmao:

love love love Citricos. My travelling companions refused to let me make an ADR there for this trip b/c we have gone so many times. I relented, but fully plan on getting in there anyway, even if I have to drug them and tell them its Narcoosee's

You MUST try: appetizer: Gateau of Crab. this ain't your momma's crab cake. who would have though a glorified spider could taste like this. Entree: Braised Boneless Short Ribs. Indescribable. Perhaps the greatest food item at WDW. Certainly in a dead heat with the Pork Tenderloin at CG. The wine list is killer as well. you pretty much can't go wrong here.

what about desserts at Citricos? the ones on the unofficial menus look kinda boring.

Hate to say though that there's no way I'm getting short ribs - I'm not a beef person. I'm a fish person. But the crab is interesting - unless it involves mayonnaise somehow.

no mayo in the crab, heavy cream, I believe. not exactly a healthy option :goodvibes if beef is off the menu for you, I recall that the the grouper is quite good.

agree about the desserts, never had anything there that was really worth the calories. we typically have dessert elsewhere. Honestly, I think that's true of most of the TS places at WDW, I can't think of a dessert that has really knocked me out. Seeing as I'm anti-DP, I don't need to feel obligated to get one either, which works out nicely:)

At Citricos I had the Goat Cheese Truffles for an App...:cloud9: If I could eat those every day of my life, I think I would.

And for my meal I had the lamb with a scallop. It was delicious. One of the top meals I've ever had. My review (with pics) is linked in my siggie, it's from February.

Actually, I don't think we had one bite of fish in that meal at all, and we all enjoyed our meal. So entirely do-able!

Oh!! While it doesn't sound like much (and I agree most desserts at WDW, while they look pretty, are kind of a snooze-fest) the Tropical Fruit Creme Brulee? Awesome.

Here it is:

I know, it looks boring...but just trust me?

And since I've now gone and posted one picture...
Here's the lamb & scallop:

And  the Goat Cheese Truffles:

(Sorry for the hijack!)

The veal shank is really good at Citrico's (we'll be there next Thurday)...that and a bunch of them citrus infused martinis and I'll be set.

hey MIZZOU...we're going to be driving past your exit two weeks from right now!!!

Love your scheduled meals by the way...especially love the scheduled adult beverages. That sounds like an exceptionally well planned vacation:drinking1

Hey stranger! Nice to to see you again and thanks for joining us on our last, best gorgefest!

Thanks girl!! We're finally going back to the World in December (we were supposed to go next week but had to postpone due to unforeseen circumstances). I'm so glad I have your Foodie Trip to keep me sane while I wait (im)patiently for 105 days to pass until I get there. ;)

Gina we'll be at Citricos in 2 weeks and I'll let you know how it is. I don't do sea food either so I'll be eating red meat :thumbsup2

Bendy...

Are you doing the chefs table at Vic and Al's or just the regular dining room?

Yahoo!:):)
I'm on board. DH and I don't go back to WDW until Dec. 2010:sad1:, so will have to drool over your fabulous reviews. :upsidedow

A child on my table runs the risk of being eaten by my nurse or husband-- they are both large bearded men who could mistake a toddler for an appetizer.
Brenda, we are at the same resort on the same dates with THREE matching ADRs-- except that we will be in chemo, and must reschedule for January. Enjoy your trip. Then I'll know I made good choices!

For Citricos ... Jay raved about the veal shank and I had their short ribs; don't think you could go wrong with either one if you like beef.

The crab was good, I agree, but I actually liked the sauteed shrimp with feta just a bit better.

I'm always left a little cold by Citricos dessert menu whenever I look at it - we didn't have official dessert the last time we were there. Their Grand Capuccino was very good though if you like alcoholic coffee.

Agree with this entire post. :thumbsup2

Hi Cathy! Going back so soon?! :rotfl2: I'll try to clean up the air around here so that it doesn't smell so bad when you come through. Have a great trip - I'll be looking for your next batch of reviews!

mmm those goat cheese truffles were heavenly.

Perhaps we will try them in October.

I'll try to keep things amusing. Glad you didn't have to cancel your trip ... getting there late is better than never getting there at all. :thumbsup2

Bendy...

I'm pretty sure we're in the dining room that night.

POP!!! How ya been? This will work out perfectly for both of us ... we don't go back at all in 2010 so you and I can help each other through Disney Dining withdrawal.:lmao:

A child on my table runs the risk of being eaten by my nurse or husband-- they are both large bearded men who could mistake a toddler for an appetizer.

:lmao: That's the funniest thing I've read all day!

Brenda, we are at the same resort on the same dates with THREE matching ADRs-- except that we will be in chemo, and must reschedule for January. Enjoy your trip. Then I'll know I made good choices!

Oh Miri, I'm sorry that you had to change your travel dates. I was looking forward to meeting you this fall. Sending good thoughts your way ... don't be a stranger!

Today, the F&W powers-that-be opened up on-line registration for culinary demos / wine tastings / and other flotsam and jetsam associated with six weeks of food and booze. At first I was under the impression that only Tables in Wonderland members could registar and qualify for a discount ($5 per person instead of $8) ... but then a little asky-asky here on the DIS alerted me to the fact that anyone could register and purchase tickets for these events, but only Annual Passholders, DVC members, and TiW members would get the discount.

Well, membership finally has its privileges! I used our DVC card this morning to get six, no ... seven demos / seminars during our upcoming trip. It was a surprisingly easy and glitch-free process ... I must give Disney three thumbs up for making it such a pleasant experience this morning.

And I must say ... in the past we've rarely attended seminars / demos because we didn't like having to stand around for an hour just on the off chance that we might get a seat to something. This way we're guaranteed a seat and don't have to waste precious eating and drinking time just standing around wishing we were eating and drinking. :rotfl2:

So, you wanna know what else we're cramming into this already over-stuffed, bloated vacation?

Thursday, October 15th - Culinary Demo / Wine Tasting with Chef Kevin Dundon from Raglan Road

Saturday, October 17th - Wine Seminar with Moet & Chandon Champagne (what better to have on your 40th birthday???)

Sunday, October 18th - Culinary Demo / Wine Tasting with Moonstruck Chocolates!

Monday, October 19th - Culinary Demo / Wine Tasting with Chef Dylan Schauwecker from The Wave

Tuesday, October 20th - Spirit Seminar with Remy Martin Cognac

Wednesday, October 21st - Wine Seminar with La Crema Winery
Wednesday, October 21st - Culinary Demo / Wine Tasting with Pastry Chef Bill Clark from the Grand Floridian

Friday, October 23rd - Spirit Seminar with Chopin Vodka

I cannot wait for October to get here! :cool1::banana::rotfl2:

Those demos look really great. I'm totally jealous of the Raglan Road one.
