Those demos look really great. I'm totally jealous of the Raglan Road one.

Raglan Road's demo is my paltry way of making up for our not being able to tack one weeeee little extra night on to our trip so that we could book the Raglan Road signature dinner on the 13th. I wanted that one so bad I could taste it but the hubba stood firm.

"There will be other dinners," said he in a most unconcerned and not at all hungry tone of voice.

"Yes," I replied, "but not for us." :rotfl2:

Honestly, there are three festival signature dinners scheduled during our trip dates ... that has never happened to us in all the years we've visited during F&W and I'm sure it will never happen again.

It's official... Bendy's not sleeping on this trip... ;)

Well, I finally booked an October trip! :yay: But, it's for Halloween, so I will miss you guys this year. :sad2: Hopefully we can find some way to see each other outside of WDW on our... gasp... 'off year' next year. We'll be back in business for F&W 2011. ::yes::

Great start to the TR... this one is gonna top 'em all! :thumbsup2

Cheers!

Michelle .. I was really looking forward to meeting you and am sorry that you wont be at the Brenda Birthday Booze Bash! Have fun at Halloween! I love it then too! Are you doing the PFTS on Halloween? I'd love to know what they are doing!

Brenda here is an article I read from the Chef from Raglan and he talks about the dinner he's doing.
Not trying to make you feel worse .. just thought you would like to read it!

Today, the F&W powers-that-be opened up on-line registration for culinary demos / wine tastings / and other flotsam and jetsam associated with six weeks of food and booze. At first I was under the impression that only Tables in Wonderland members could registar and qualify for a discount ($5 per person instead of $8) ... but then a little asky-asky here on the DIS alerted me to the fact that anyone could register and purchase tickets for these events, but only Annual Passholders, DVC members, and TiW members would get the discount.

Well, membership finally has its privileges! I used our DVC card this morning to get six demos / seminars during our upcoming trip. It was a surprisingly easy and glitch-free process ... I must give Disney three thumbs up for making it such a pleasant experience this morning.

And I must say ... in the past we've rarely attended seminars / demos because we didn't like having to stand around for an hour just on the off chance that we might get a seat to something. This way we're guaranteed a seat and don't have to waste precious eating and drinking time just standing around wishing we were eating and drinking. :rotfl2:

So, you wanna know what else we're cramming into this already over-stuffed, bloated vacation?

Thursday, October 15th - Culinary Demo / Wine Tasting with Chef Kevin Dundon from Raglan Road

Saturday, October 17th - Wine Seminar with Moet & Chandon Champagne (what better to have on your 40th birthday???)

Monday, October 19th - Culinary Demo / Wine Tasting with Chef Dylan Schauwecker from The Wave

Tuesday, October 20th - Spirit Seminar with Remy Martin Cognac

Wednesday, October 21st - Culinary Demo / Wine Tasting with Pastry Chef Bill Clark from the Grand Floridian

Friday, October 23rd - Spirit Seminar with Chopin Vodka

I cannot wait for October to get here! :cool1::banana::rotfl2:

So wait...if I'm not DVC, AP, or TiW, I can call and still reserve? Cause I've had my eye on that Moet one at 5:30 on the 17th...While I'm not comfortable with have $40 go down the drain if I get a migraine, I can live with $8. Either that one or the Puglia one at the same time...but they have that one on the 16th too. Oh man, if I can reserve both! Oh please tell me it's true...

ETA: the Puglia event was either changed or it's booked. But I was able to book the Moet one! I'm so excited! :yay: Thanks so much for posting this! I would have totally missed it otherwise!

Yes you can reserve them, you just have to pay the $8. I got mine and I am neither a DVC-er, AP-er, or TiW-er.:cool1:

:dance3:Happy Booking!:dance3:

I have to admit that I'm somewhat peeved that I can't parlay my status as a DL PAP holder into ANY benefit at WDW. Anyone happen to know if WDW ever offers anything to DL APers?:confused3

When I had an AP at WDW, there were no benefits for me at DL :sad1: So I still haven't gone!

There aren't any cross promotions between the two, that I have seen. I have a DL AP and it gets me diddly at WDW.

Brenda, someday I have faith that a bald quadriplegic and two giant-people will head your way poolside, and we will imbibe candy-tasty booze (or the whiskey flight at RR) while the men duel for Chex Mix. You're doing great stuff with our vacation, BTW, excellent work!
:thumbsup2

It's official... Bendy's not sleeping on this trip... ;)

We'll catch up on our sleep in November - that's when we usually go into pre-hibernation mode.

Hi Michelle! Congrats on the Halloween trip but I'm bummed we won't see each other this year. Perhaps Vegas in May??? :cool1:

Thanks for the link Chelsi - very interesting but now that I see he plans to serve suckling pig I'm totally bummed. Oh well ... there will be pork-a-plenty on this trip as it is. I love that the recipe for Ger's Bread & Butter pudding was included at the bottom of the interview - we'll have to make that this fall once the weather cools down.

Sorry I wasn't able to respond earlier ... I'm blocked from the boards while I'm at work. But I see you were able to decode the website and get what you wanted, so HOORAY!! :cool1:

I've never heard of any cross-promotions, which is a bit of a shame.

Whiskey at Raglan Road it is!!! :thumbsup2 And I just added a couple of things to make vacation even better ... stay tuned! :goodvibes

Homer Simpson once said that a mountain of sugar may be too much for one man, but is it too much for Jay and Bendy?

We shall find out this fall because we booked ourselves a Wishes Dessert Party for the first night of our vacation. :cool1: Bye-bye Coral Reef dinner reservation, hello endless buffet of glazed, sticky, calorie-laden tooth decay!

I can't think of a better way to kick off a ten-day WDW orgy of food and booze than with a dessert buffet, can you? :woohoo::woohoo:

Perhaps the Wishes Dessert Party will be more like when the Simpsons went to Brazil and Homer had all the sweet fruits combined into one drink.

"Mmm sweet. ...sweet? SWEEEEET!":scared1:

It may be more like when Homer went to that all you can eat place and wound up suing them because they didn't have all he could eat.

Have fun gorging in the MK. I'll be gorging in World Showcase. ;)

:lmao: It's quite possible this will happen to us. The obvious antidote will be to hop the bus to Downtown Disney and try some tequila and snackaroos at Paradiso 37. I'm not saying that's how the evening will play out but one must be prepared ... :rolleyes1

That's one of our favorites. :lmao:

Can't we do both??? :rotfl2:

I still plan on meeting you in France before we head over to the MK ... I've got to buy you an early birthday squishee! :thumbsup2

When are you arriving?

I booked it one of my nights too. Besides PFTS, I think it's what I'm most excited for. Or maybe I'm more excited about Kouzzina. :confused3 It changes daily what I'm most excited about.

When are you arriving?

I'll post my dates over on the Bendy thread! :goodvibes

Congrats on booking the Dessert Party, B! :dance3: It was tasty! Plus, seeing Wishes from that area was really cool. Tinker Bell flew right over us! :tinker:
