Oh the days!

I was there in April 1979 and have some of the same shots of a middle school group I chaperoned to WDW during spring break.

Where was this? I know in Fantasyland. I believe it was between Carrousel of Progress and Buzz but my brother thinks differently.

I think this was taken in the late '80s. They did a show -- good vs. evil -- using these dragon boats and ultralight aircraft. It must not have been very impressive, because that's about all that I remember. I believe it was only around for a year. There may be someone else out there who also remembers this, and probably better than I.

Thank you! Wow, ultralight aircraft and dragon boats. Sounds pretty cool. That would have been a few years before my first visit.

In doing some research, I may have mixed-up a couple of shows. The show with the ultralights was called "Surprise in the Skies". It also included giant inflatables of the different characters in the various lands dressed in appropriate costumes. I have previously posted a photo of Minnie in a kimono. The show took place in 1991 to celebrate WDW's 20th anniversary. The 'dragon boats' weren't part of it. All I remember, is they raced around the lake.
