Pictures of Dream portholes! And other things from inside the rooms!

What size are the port holes on cat 8C?

Large. All Cat 8 rooms have at least 1 large porthole. The Cat 8A rooms have two large portholes in each room. You can see the large portholes on the sides of the ship, in the metal detailing toward the front and back.

We debated between the Cat 8a and 8c for our Fantasy MV. Went with the cat 8C because it was higher up. Looking forward to seeing room reviews.

We went with 8C on our Fantasy cruises as well, mainly because I didn't like the small portholes of most of the 9A rooms, and couldn't find a 8D room that I wanted.

I'm referring to the six sideways 9A rooms 8506, 8008, 7506, 7008, 6506, 6008. They have the same large porthole window as the Cat 8s next to them. The PP was originally wondering if they'd do something different on the inside of those rooms, but I don't think they'd do anything to make the window appear smaller from the inside. I assume they're only 9A instead of 8 because they aren't long enough to fit the 5th bed and extra space. While the printed deck plans make the 2 deck 7 rooms appear to be the same size as the Cat 8 rooms they're next to (which would make them the best of the lot), DCL's virtual deck plan doesn't show the same thing. Something else for you early sailors to check out for us!

We have 7506 booked and I am very curious to see what these rooms actually look like. I booked it thinking I'd get a cat 8 window for a 9 price (not that it was that much of a difference, but every little bit helps!) It seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to make the window smaller on the inside. My impressions is that there just isn't the 5th bed space (though, I too noticed that the deckplans make it look like there is on deck 7).

I'm book on the Fantasy next year with a 7-night Eastern Cat 8C (deck 8) but am thinking about going two deck 6 for the Cat 8A since the room is larger and has two portholes instead of one. Too bad there are not pictures of the 8A rooms yet.

Repeat cruisers may have noticed with joy the electronic light up alarm clocks, and the bedside power outlet (that looks like it might accommodate non-US plugs as well!)

Ooohhhh
yes I am noticing that with EXTREME joy. :cool1:

I was told that the portholes were 45 inches in 9B on deck two...The large portholes are 59 inches with a covered rim that classifies as window seating. That helped give me a little bit of perspective in the size difference.

Great info! You can see it in the picture right above, if you add just over a foot (14 inches) to the right and bottom of the medium window, it would fill the space more like the large window.
