I am going to try to post photos of the family suite with roll in shower here. We arrive today with my upper 80’s parents and I could not find any decent photos other than on Disney's site. I really want to put some decent photos out there so people are fully aware of how the suite is modified. We will be using genie plus and DAS (my DAS). If there is anything pertinent I will put those comments here too but mainly I really want pics for other people out there. Also my parents are so so so excited.

Our room became ready just as our car service pulled into the resort about 4:15. It is first floor building 10 wheelchair accessible with roll in shower. These photos are mainly of the master bedroom and bathroom. The living room appears to be the same as the other family suites as far as I can tell. I may try to take a few pic of that area if I can. I did notice the coat hanger inside the door is lower. The little kitchen area does not have the bigger fridge with a freezer like the regular suites and has less storage area because of the wheelchair accessibility under the counter. The bathroom in the main part of the room is the usual tub shower with the sliding shower doors on the tub. There is no pocket door between the sink and toilet area like rooms at Pop have. There is a decent closet space in that bathroom. Open shelving in there. There is a sliding door separating the sink and toilet area and the couch/table area. The master bedroom has a very low bed. All the curtains have rings that hang down low for ease of closing the curtains. You can see it in one of the photos. There is a fold down seat in the shower. A firm mesh material. The best thing is there is a button in the room to open the door from the inside - from outside you would have to open the door and reach into the room to hit it.

Darn! Another hotel that switched to the cloth shower seats. I just find them so unstable and hard for me to transfer on and off of as a paraplegic.

But thanks for the photos!

yea I remember someone commenting on that. I may try to look tomorrow. I put it down for my parentsbut The mesh seemed very solid. It was very taut across the frame. It was quite stiff. I will try to take a closer look tomorrow

This is the drawer with individual wrapped plates and bowls and utensils. The cupboard in a previous photo is locked. The cupboard is above the microwave.

The fabric/mesh seat that I had at Poly (Nov/Dec 2021 trip) looked brand new - the seat appeared to be taut, and I was hopeful.

Alas, when I sat on it, it "gave" or "sank" to the point where I struggled to get back out safely. I wound up getting high-sided on the metal edge of the seat, and bruising myself. And yes, that hurt every much as you imagine it did.

Those seats probably work quite well for people who weigh less than 150 pounds or so. And the people who specified them in the design plans probably picked them because they were cheaper, and not because there was any other redeeming quality about them. They certainly never asked anyone who is full time in a chair to practice transferring, to see how it affects the Guests who are most likely to use it/need it.

Every time I have to use a seat like that, I lay down a clean towel, since I have no way of knowing what procedure (if any) is being used to sanitize that fabric. 😵🥴🤢 I trust Disney housekeepers to do a good job, but there is a serious ick factor there for me.

ugh I’m so sorry. I imagine this one is the same. I don’t know why it couldn’t have been made with a solid plastic. For sure the people who make it don’t actually need it.

Yea, the seat may look taut and firm. But I sink right into them. I can't feel or move anything below my sternum so it's important for me to have a stable base under me. When I sit on them if feels like it moves under me. Also to get on and off I put one hand on the shower seat and one hand on my wheelchair seat then lift myself using my arms. The mesh shower seat moves under my hand and dimples down lower making it harder to transfer.

I've written letters to WDW about it and was hoping they would go back to either plastic or wood seats. But it looks like they're going full on mesh with all new shower seats. Another reason for me to stop going to WDW. :(
