Hi again.

I'm just curious about something that I saw listed on the WDW site. How does WDW handle all those pictures that the CM's take of you and your family? I can't remember for the life of me, and it has probably changed since I went, anyway. Do they give you individual claim tickets for each picture, or are they all kept on one special code somewhere?

What caught my eye was a "bonus" for purchasing the package through WDW, that said all your photos were taken using some special system that would allow you to view them online. Now, the "bonus" said something about getting a free picture, so perhaps that was the real bonush. I wasn't sure if the online system was available for everyone, or only those getting the package through WDW.

It always seems like such a chore to remember to look at and purchase our pictures, when the kids are tired and cranky and ready to head "home" at the end of our time in a park. This online system sounds wonderful to me.

I'm sure there are some wonderful Disers here, who have firsthand knowledge of how these pics work now. TIA!!

:cheer2:

You now get a photopass card and they you have 30 days to look them up online after you enter the code on your card. Be careful though because many get lost and you may lose all you vacation pictures.

Photo pass is wonderful. If you are afraid you might loose your card, write the number down somewhere as soon as you can and stick it in a safe spot. You get one card to use for your whole trip and you can view on-line ahen you get home. If you loose your card they will give you another one. Good Luck!!

I had photos in my shopping card and photo pass deleted them all - I had until Jan 30th and now they can't find them. What a waste - I had family photos with all four of us that we don't have on my personal camera - Don't trust them - ask a stranger to use your own camera.

Oh, how terrible. I'm so sorry to hear that happened to your family, with all those precious photos. I hope you took plenty with your own camera, too.

Thanks for the warning :sunny:

Aw man, thats too bad. Thats y we always get with the photpass and also with my digital and my moms regular camera. We've also lost a few photopass pictures.

I really liked the new photopass system. We got some great pictures and it was hassle free. What more could you want. If you see a photopass photographer, have them take your picture. You'll end up with some great shots!

The new thing with photopass is the CD. At the end of your trip you can take all of your photopass cards to the gift shop at the Grand Floridian or the photoshop at Epcot and they will put all of your pictures onto a CD for $99.00. You can also edit them, crop them, enlarge them add borders and you get a copy on the cd of the ones you have edited too. Might sound like a lot of money but at disney and on the photopass website you can only buy 5X7 and wallet sizes plus they are pricey. If you get the CD you buy the rights to the pictures so when you get home you can print them out anywhere and any size you want. One CD will hold 300 pictures. We were there 1/2-1/5 and took all the photopass pictures that we wanted. The cd was a great deal for us. You have to do it at the end and only available at the two locations listed above. You can't buy the cd once you get home yet. Check it out

So how do you get started with photo pass? Do you just go up to a photographer and they start the process or do you have to get something before you get in the parks?

also curoius about the cd....sometimes, i forget the first photopass card and rely on a second, can they put all the photopass pics on the cd....as many as 300? that would be alot of pics but wopuld be nice to have the rights to print them out.

Yes, they can combine multiple photopass cards onto 1 CD (they combined 4 cards onto my one CD). They didn't tell me I could edit the pictures, though, I sure wish they had! I'm very happy with the CD, though. We had tons of pictures taken so that really upped the chances of getting that great shot. We got about 7 pictures that are truly exceptional. I love the fact that I can print out copies for friends and relatives without breaking the bank.

All you have to do is walk up to any photographer to start the process. They take your picture and give you the card. That's it. NO money exchanges hands, etc. Then you give the same card to the next photographer, or get a new card. We used the same card! We really liked having those pics!

long lines to edit pics? i assume you edit them before they go onto the cd? can't you edit them on home computer? if you have the cd? sorry so many ?s just learning how to do this myself and im pretty computer STUPID

Can you use the CD to print your own pics from your home computer? Or do I have to go to Walmart or somewhere to do it? And can I send pics from the CD via e-mail? Can you tell I've never had a photo CD before???

subscribing...

I was going to ask about this since we're heading down in 6 weeks and it's included with our package.

Thanks for the heads up about having to get the CD while you're there!

I was ther 1/2-1/5. We stayed at the GF and I went to look at my pictures 3 different times while I was there. The gift shop is open 8am-10pm. I was usually there at 8:30am or 9:30pm. There was never a line at all. It was very quick. I only had 24 pictures because I didn't know about the CD until the end of our trip so I didn't take as many photopass pictures as I should have. It only took a few minutes to edit them. I cropped some. Added a border to some. You get a copy of both the edited picture and the original. You could definatly edit them when you get home. If you add borders, disney might have some that you can't do from home. Not sure about that. The CD is good on Mac or PC. You can print them from home or walmart etc. You can send by email too. There is a post on disboards that says that they contacted photopass who said the cd might be available from home soon. If you aren't going for a while you might check before you leave. That would make it more convenient.
