Hi folks,

I'm not ready to post a trip report yet but I have posted reports by written by my kids.

My dear DH has put some of our photos up on a web page. We are not done with the page yet but some of them are there.

Edited 10/13: New Web Page:

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/bill77/Disney Cruise/index.html

This page is cooler than the other one was. I'm glad DH knows how to do this stuff because I sure don't!

I see you did a dolphin encounter! Was it in Freeport or Nassau? We are headed on our HM in 2 weeks for a 6 day land 4 day DCL, and we signed up for the one in Freeport! Was it worth it?

Thanks! The photos are great, BTW!

Two foxes-We did the encounter in Freeport. Honestly this is the one thing on our whole cruise that I would complain about. We plan to write a letter to Disney. If I were you I would change to the Nassau one as I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Anyway, the encounter itself was very cool but it was way too much of a project, way too much waiting around to be worth it. We left at 9:30am and my husband, who didn't even wait to buy pictures or anything hightailed it back at the first available moment and was back after 2 maybe 2:30. I didn't make it back onto the boat until 3:30 or so. That makes it a 5 hour event for 10 minutes with the dolphins. Yes, the 10 minutes you were with them was really cool but it wasn't worth 5 hours out of my day. I would not do this again!

Sonia,

Nice pictures. Just a question. What were the b/w pix?

The black and white ones were video taped by my husband off the screen when the kids put on the show at the end. I think they came out b/w due to low lighting.

I"ll second the motion on the Dolphin encounter. The wait for the catamaran was way too long and the blatant way they got us into their gift shop to sign a waiver which could have easily been done at the ship was horrible.By the way That was my wife & daughter the Mr. was standing across from on the encounter.small world eh.My wife & I did the encounter in Nassau about 3 years ago. It's more expensive but it did run smoother.Either way they are wonderful to see up close.

Great Pictures!!
We are leaving for our first 'Wonder'ful cruise next sunday! We can't wait! Thank you for sharing your pictures!

Loved your pictures, thanks for sharing. I was planning on signing up for the Dolphin Encounter at Freeport. Now I don't know what to do....

Did you enjoy the carriage ride in Nassau? How much would we spend if we were to take it? (that's my way of not being nosey and asking how much you spent ;) Was it worth it?

Thanks!

tksbaskets....
For more info on the Freeport excursion, read my daughters trip report "10 yr old girls..." which is a few threads down on this board. I detailed the whole experience in one of my replies to it and if I were you, I would book the one in Nassau. I don't regret that we did it, I just wish it were a more satisfying experience. If we were to do this again, we would probably book the "swim" on our own in Nassau.

Regarding the carriage ride: I have heard reports of people paying $40 or more for this. We were undecided but it was something we were considering. Keep in mind that these guys are all competing for your business, you don't have to take the first carriage in line so they are bartering to get you to chose them. Well, after shopping, we were heading back to the ship and these guys were all after us to do this. Finally, one guy says $15 and we say Sold! and go for the carriage ride. Was it worth it? Probably not but it was fun to do once. The carriage was really ramshackle and I would not have been surprised if it had fallen apart underneath us. The driver did give us some history and narration but it was hard to hear with all the traffic going by and he wasn't all that into it anyway. We had a pretty good time...it was probably a 10 to 15 minute ride but we wouldn't do it again. We gave him $20. One interesting fact he did tell us that with socialized medicine, which they have there, it is only $10 to see a doctor for everybody, even tourists, and medicine is free.

Good luck with your decisions!

ACK!!! I'm getting a message that says that the "page cannot be displayed". I really wanted to see the photos too :(

Great photos! I looked everywhere for Miss Daisy on our cruise and she was not to be found. I wanted to have my photo made with her.
