A piece of history. The lady on the left (Dorothy Molter) was known as the Root Beer Lady and lived inside of what is now known as Voyageurs NP in Minnesota for 56 years making and selling homemade root beer to paddlers passing through. I got to meet her in 1974 with my school group on our 4 day canoe trip. She was the last living resident in the 218,000 acre wilderness.
This is a beer can table she made. The root beer was sold in bottles which we had to clean and return. The beer cans came from her clean-up efforts along the lakes.
